We use "asshole from elbow" frequently to describe Scrotus.

But our most frequently used is "He wouldn't know his ass from a hole in the ground". Also "He's a taco short of a combination plate".

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 22/07/2020 13:43

I always thought that ass in "can't tell his ass from his elbow" went along with "couldn't find his ass with both hands" and referred to his, erm, organ of generation... You know, like the greatest miracle in the Bible: the bloke who tied his ass to a tree and then walked two miles into Jericho.

AcrossthePond55 · 22/07/2020 14:01

Lol Asking your interpretation of the Bible story really made me guffaw.

Not 'organ of generation', but 'orifice of elimination'.

So for Scrotus that could be either his anus or his mouth. He certainly has enough verbal diarrhea for us to question which is which.

I didn't watch the 'news briefing' since I expected it would be neither news nor brief. I've seen a few clips and I was pretty much right. Honestly, the best thing that could happen would be for it not to be televised. There was at least one channel where I live that quietly stopped broadcasting the previous briefings after he stopped having the real experts give the updates and they became propaganda tools. Too bad they don't all do that.

A new crisis.
Actual wrong doing from China, or a distraction?

I do wish a reporter would challenge McNinny or Trump to clear up just what calculation parameters they use to back up their assertion that USA Mortality rates are the best in the world.

He is generally better at what he does than Trump or all his stooges manage to be at anything they do.

PerkingFaintly · 22/07/2020 17:50

Oh oh, that RR was so good. I hope Fauci enjoyed it too – to keep on the shelf along with Brad Pitt playing him on SNL.Grin

Except of course, it's not good, because it's horribly true.

In Gollum's defence, he started well enough before the Ring called to him.

lionheart · 22/07/2020 19:16

Can't say the same for Trumpy.

Yes Randy's getting a bit Charles the First, isn't he?

I haven't listened to Trump's briefing from yesterday but have read several summaries. He obviously was given a tight script to follow and did his best to follow it but kept slipping off into Trumpisms like Chyn-Na and a It'll disappear.
I can't imagine he' ll manage to keep to the script for long. And despite the plan of making it look like he cares about the virus beyond its interference in his reelection chances, the whole thing rather highlighted his complete denial of the issue since his last similar briefing (when "only" 50k Americans had died)

Tellmetruth4 · 22/07/2020 22:46

I think his ‘wishing well’ to Ghislaine was either a ‘keep my name out of your mouth and you’ll get a pardon’ or a ‘if you don’t keep my name out of your mouth you’ll get Epsteined’ threat.

I think the court should adjourn the case until after the election (with her in a padded cell with CCTV the whole world can access to ensure she’s safe) in the hope he loses then go ahead with the trial. He won’t have the protection of being President to hide behind then.

Trump showing off about his cognitive test, thinking he's a clever big boy for repeating five items. Grin Grin Shock

Roussette · 23/07/2020 07:45

And bearing in mind, according to Mary Trump's book, he mocked his father when he succumbed to Alzheimers. Which is why he has to prove he is soooo clever.
Even in that clip, he struggled to repeat the words he had chosen himself.
In a proper test, the words are unrelated, you don't choose them and sometimes you are asked them after 5 minutes, which he would be incapable of doing.

The doctor who created the Montreal test says "it's supposed to be easy"

It's interesting that Trump - when he tries to come up with 5 random unconnected words--comes up with Person, woman, man, camera, TV. The first 3 are connected, as are the last 2. And they reflect his narrow sphere of reference. He also clearly thinks about this test a lot, so why can't he come up with a better random list.
Most people would manage Dog, tablespoon, wheelbarrow, comb, golf ball (!)

TheNorthWestPawsage · 23/07/2020 08:23

I was just watching that clip. It's revealing on many levels isn't it? And even after picking his own (related) word sequence, he struggles to get 'woman' and 'man' in the correct order Hmm

BruceAndNosh · 23/07/2020 08:27

He still seems to think that it's an intelligence test. Saying that when he took it the doctors were amazed at his results "rarely does anyone do what you just did" when actually most average people without impairment should score maximum points on it.

It's quite a subtle test. I've sat with a parent several times while a doctor ran through this test with them (note I aced it absolutely ACED IT while listening). I thought my mum did pretty well but apparently her results showed clear dementia when it iwas far from obvious unless you knew her well or spent significant time with her.

PerkingFaintly · 23/07/2020 08:41

Trump just named 5 related things in his line of sight during that interview, and they were still in his line of sight when he repeated the words.

But I LOVE that this is his latest obsession.Grin

Sooooo many people are going to do the real test just for fun, and come back with, "Huh? The POTUS found those last 5 questions hard?"
