I was just about to post how funny I thought it all was and loved the comments when it told it was full and I couldn't add any comments - gutted so thought I would say "thought I found that post really strange and really funny!!!"
Can't even remember when I joined but never posted that often until recently (and still not a lot - just to ask advice) so maybe I am a newbie to but I think everyone on here is great, supportive and of their own opionion. I have had great comments form loads of you and as my mum lives 300 miles away from me and my mil lives about 160 I have no one to ask (to a degree).
PS I am not a middle class bore, I am like most, I work part time (start at 5.30am) then look after our dd all day and then sometimes go back to work. Needs must but I love both my jobs (one as a mother and one as an employee).
That's all - sorry to bore you all!

PS I think talulasmummy has some issues .. ?

AitchTwoOh · 26/09/2007 13:53

gawd, talulasmum, you really are going on a bit, aren't you? why don't you make a decision and stick to it? if you've apologised for offending people and meant it, then stop trying to offend them again. give it a rest, for goodness sakes, please.

sugarmatches · 26/09/2007 14:42

Yeah!!!

3andnomore · 26/09/2007 14:44

Talula..really don't know what to make of you...you seem to suffer moodswings or something....one minute you are like all nice and apologetic and seemingly wanting to make a new start, and then this...hm...

Aitch...shudder..they actually invented a specific time out mat....the woirld has gone mad

cheeset · 26/09/2007 16:42

Now children, lets all sit down together and work this out shall we!

Now talulasmum say sorry to whoever you have offended and the whoevers, say sorry to talulasmum or reverse.

Come on, you will all feel better and we can all skip off into the sunset together

Genuinely trying to help.

cheeset · 26/09/2007 16:44

I hate atmosphere!

3andnomore · 26/09/2007 17:14

lol cheese...but that has been happening...everyone makes up, and then suddenly she comes out of the blue and makes such comments again...I mean, either it's water under the bridge or it isn't...but if someone is holding grudges...well...they should just get over themselfs, imo

Lorayn · 26/09/2007 17:35

lol cheeset (maybe it's her time of the month)

Oh also cheeset, meant to say earlier, thanks for the comments on the prem thread, they were nice

cheeset · 26/09/2007 17:42

My pleasure Loryan meant every word I said

I'm new to mn and I bloody love it!

Only thing is, I think i'm becoming addicted to it and I'm finding it really difficult to tear myself away from the computer!!
It's not as if I have lots of time on my hands, SAHM 2 ankle biters and a part time job to do but housework suffering and I'm starting to ignore knocks at the door and not answer my telephone, Im not joking!
When my friends ring me, I make excuses that someone is at the door(of course there isn't because I'm ignoring the door remember!

Lorayn · 26/09/2007 17:46

hahaha, I am not quite that bad but do find myself doing a quick 'threads I'm on' refresh before I go to get DD1 from school and then having to rush out so as not to be late!!

cheeset · 26/09/2007 17:52

Yeah, I did the rush to sch thing earlier, so short of time I went out wearing flip flops and no coat, I was freezing then it started to rain

Heating has just clicked on and defrosted my cold tootsies but now I feel all warm and bloody tired

cheeset · 26/09/2007 17:56

Do you still live in Bicester?(saw profile)

Bet your always at that Bicester Village aren't you

sorry for spelling your name wrong!

Lorayn · 26/09/2007 17:57

I live in a village just outside Bicester now, we moved a few weeks ago, and tbh, I never go to bicester village unless it's for the book shop, the people there drive me INSANE!!

3andnomore · 26/09/2007 18:00

cheese...I think mn should come with a healthwarning along the lines:
mumsnet can proof addictive and may interfere with your reallife

lol

cheeset · 26/09/2007 18:14

My DH has started calling himself an internet widow!

I just love the fact you can just drop in on conversations- i just had a chat about hemmeroids, think that's how you spell it! Marvellous!

I used to live in Oxford, just off Cowley Rd, Kidlington and Headington. Never been to Bicester tho, MIL has as we live not far from there.

Lorayn · 26/09/2007 19:01

Dp lived off cowley rd in his student days, he is originally from Botley though.

talulasmum · 26/09/2007 19:49

hi mums, yeah i know really should drop it now, but was so pissed off with comments made about schools the other day. my brothers a teacher in an inner london comp and although their are some real trouble makers the vast majority of kids are from normal loving families. my dd will probably end up in one, doesnt mean i dont love her and want the best for her, just means i havent got money. im bringing her up to respect people from all races, religions, and backgrounds.
just want her to grow up happy, and if she ends up a bit bonkers like her mum, even better.
i dont mind if she runs a nail bar on the high street, ill still cry with pride.

AitchTwoOh · 26/09/2007 20:01

have you seen how much business those nail bars do? i'd be bloody thrilled to have one in the family! there's one down the street from us, staffed by absolutely vile women, really rude and obnoxious and it's totally scuzzy and dirty and yet you cannot get an appointment there at short notice. amazing.

TM, if you're insulted or offended by things people are saying on a thread, if you feel they are snobbish or removed from 'real life', then just tell them. sometimes it's good for people to be shaken out of their complacency a bit. but you shouldn't feel you have to get sarcastic or whatever about it on other threads where people don't have a clue what you're talking about... just tell them, relatively politely, to their 'face'. you'll soon find there are plenty of people you have plenty in common with when they all come piling in to agree with you.

AitchTwoOh · 26/09/2007 20:04

by the way, the nail bar i refer to is one that is well-known for being full of dreadful cows, i don't think it represents all nail technicians. [disclaimer icon]

Desiderata · 26/09/2007 20:13

Hmm, I'm glad you'll bring little T up to respect all backgrounds. I guess that includes middle class bores?

talulasmum · 26/09/2007 20:18

aitch, i know. went about it all the wrong way, should of read her comments and just thought " silly cow" and left it. but your right about the nail bars. dont tell you know who, but the manager of our local one sends her ds to one of the best fee paying schools around. would just love the two of them to meet.

talulasmum · 26/09/2007 20:20

desiderata. will get back to you on that one

3andnomore · 26/09/2007 20:25

Talula, what aitch said really...it's really confusing for those mumsnetter with only half a brain (like myself) when one minute you are all nice and the next minute you turn...if that makes sense...

Btw...what is the difference between comprehensive school and secondary school, etc...
oh and also...whilst I understand that Independent schools are more expensive as in Uniforms, etc...they don't actually charge fees, right...or is that just the local independent school? I thought Private schools and Boarding schools were a different thing to Independent schools...
oh, you know what...why is nothing ever straightforward over here...been here for 12 years and there are still so many things that completely mystify me, lol...

talulasmum · 26/09/2007 20:39

3andnomore, a fee paying school is one where you have to pay. thats as far as my knowledge goes on the subject, but next time im passing the nail bar i'll pop in and get further info for you. as for the first bit of your question, no difference.

AitchTwoOh · 26/09/2007 20:54

i really don't know what you're talking about though, TM. was it Xenia? she's a star, i love her. it's like watching a film of another world when she starts talking.
