I was just about to post how funny I thought it all was and loved the comments when it told it was full and I couldn't add any comments - gutted so thought I would say "thought I found that post really strange and really funny!!!"
Can't even remember when I joined but never posted that often until recently (and still not a lot - just to ask advice) so maybe I am a newbie to but I think everyone on here is great, supportive and of their own opionion. I have had great comments form loads of you and as my mum lives 300 miles away from me and my mil lives about 160 I have no one to ask (to a degree).
PS I am not a middle class bore, I am like most, I work part time (start at 5.30am) then look after our dd all day and then sometimes go back to work. Needs must but I love both my jobs (one as a mother and one as an employee).
That's all - sorry to bore you all!

PS I think talulasmummy has some issues .. ?

I felt a slight pang of regret for duping him but his tete a tete's were becoming alarmingly more and more one way and I hazard a guess that had I put a carbon cut out off myself opposite him, he would rabbit away to it.
Ah well, c'est la vie!

Mhamai · 26/09/2007 23:49

dumping, jesus my therapist would have a field day with that!

M - sorry for sudden departure last night.

Realised the time and panicked.

I'm trying to be disciplined[!] with some art work I have to concentrate on.

I'm finding it a struggle to be focused at the moment.

Hope you managed to get some sleep.

Apologies for hijack.

Lorayn · 27/09/2007 08:19

WTF happened here last night?????
Looks like jekyll and hyde came out!
Anyway, I used to live in Northampton, 3andnomore, don't really know Corby though.
Didn't know there were any bases round there thats for sure!

can I join yours??
I shop in sainsbury,
I swear like a trooper,
I live on a council estate (well predominately welfare housing for forces, but we private rent our house)
We eat chocolate
And I really love Jeremy Kyle.
Also once upon a time I lived in a one bedroom council flat with two children.(beat that
Tbh I think it's DP that is middle class and he is trying to pull me up to his level.

My father is an engineer, so I grew up priveledged-ish. We also moved around so many times it was hard to make many friends (10 schools in total!!) because my father kept climbing the career ladder.
We always had a nice big house and my parents kept their domestics stricty within the confines of our home. They also divorced when I was 8 and now don't even speak.
I think i had an unhappy childhood.

I left home as soon as I could, met the wrong man and lived in squalor that I worked my arse off to afford. I also lived in a tiny flat with my ds1 that I had to work 2 jobs to pay for, while attending University at night. We were poor, really poor, and in America you cannot always get assistence the way you can here.
I was very happy being with my son and knowing everything I had was my own.

I know what it is like to have and to have not and middle class life is highly overrated sometimes imo.

So step back and just think, how many people really live this middle class lifestyle you despise so much?
I do now, but that is because my dh and I both went to University for years and worked hard for every brick in this house and everything inside. But except for that little boast (which was not even intended as a boast!), I would never make anyone feel like I was better than them because I have more money. Talulasmum, you are trying to make us feel small because we are better off than you???

My dc can go off into the world and do whatever they want, I will love them for who they are regardless of what "class" they are living in.

sugarmatches · 27/09/2007 10:56

And Talulasmum, it sounds like you don't only have a chip on your shoulder, but you have a savaloy and a jar of pickled onions as well!!

Lorayn · 27/09/2007 11:23

I doubt any of us that live the 'middle class' lifestyle talulasmum seems to envy hate so much got it easily. I enjoy being a SAHM and not having to worry about bills etc, but we rarely go out/buy things so our money (whihc my dp works his butt off for) is not dwindled as much as it was when I lived in a one bed council flat with ex-dp who liked to spend at least half his wages on alcohol/drugs.

talulasmum · 27/09/2007 12:06

getting strangely drawn to all of you in a masochistic kind of way.

i love the way your;
kind
bitchey
vile
and far too smart for your own good, all rolled into one!

so go back to your "racheal pronounced racial" thread {btw, my mum calls talula, talula hula wula, really embarrassing)

to you all i dedicate keans "this is the last time"

i love you. x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x

Lorayn · 27/09/2007 12:20

Gosh I hate keane, even more than coldplay.
Thanks talulasmum, you really picked a great one there, thank god I don't know it enough to have it playing round in my head over and over and over.

sugarmatches · 27/09/2007 13:06

Keane?
No thanks! But I like that "if you got the money" song!
Apropos of nothing really.

3andnomore · 27/09/2007 13:13

Talula...what do you mean...I thought we had a really nice chat there?
(psst...who is keane/kean...and honestly I really ahvent' got a clue....sigh...)

Cheese...yeah I thought all was well...hm do you think it was something I said??????? [paranoid emoticon]

Mhamai...how you feeling today? I remember that feeling you discribe...the rounds with Mike Tyson....

Lorayn, no bases around Corby (and btw, you haven't missed much if you have never been to Corby...tis a bit of a shithole...howeve,r tehya re investing lots of money and there is lots of work being done, and loads of new housing estates being worked on, and at one point we should be getting a trainstation...which will hopefully improve Corby on many levels..i.e. we will only be about 1 h away from London...so, hopefully attracting some commuters, etc...), dh is still regular army, but is attached to a TA Centre in Leicester, and well, he only has a few years left in the Army, so, we felt it was time to settle down in our own house...and his family lives nearish (near Rushden), Houseprices are cheap here...so...well, that is how we landed here
Oh, and had no idea that you are pregnant...congratulations...how far gone are you?

Mellowsclass...I like it...other then the M&S/Sainsbury thing ...I fit right in with you

Sugarmatches....I don't think calss is easily defined now anyway...lol...because is it breeding, is it money, is it the way you behave...and I think most of us fall into several categories of classes...hohum...although Mellowclass does sound just like me...more or less...

sugarmatches · 27/09/2007 13:16

Lorayn, you and I could join hands and together fight the injustice of the world.
We can fight for the right to eat roast beef with horseradish for Sunday dinner.
For the right to read books, or even magazines, that cannot be found on newsagent shelves.
For the right to call our dc "darlings" and refer to ourselves as "mummy"...even when dc are in their thirties!!
For the right to shop for food at M&S and secretly say we like those naff adverts with the Ballykissangel chick.

But most of all, for the right not to be referred to as "b*tch" just because a certain someone cannot afford a thesaurus with which to vary her insults.

This is a sad world and we middle class ladies must stick together.
Shall we have lunch sometime? Or even a jolly jaunt down to the local wine bar. I am a Sauvignon girl myself, as Chardonnay seems so common nowadays.

Have a nice day!!

3andnomore, ah, I see, was wondering what part of the army I had missed in nptonshire!! I live not too far from there now, a place called arncott, just outside of bicester, we have tons of army bases etc , in fact, my son adores the fighter planes and soldiers we have to drive past to get into the village. And btw you are not missing anything with keane, they are a rather rubbish 'indie-type rock band' apparently, with no guitars and a whiny voice, although they did go to public school maybe that is why talulasmum referred to them.
sugarmatches Have lunch? don't you mean do lunch
talulasmum for you dear get new insults for free
and for the rest of us who may at times not understand exactly what she is saying understand talulasmums ramblings
oh and I am 12 weeks pregnant

3andnomore · 27/09/2007 13:31

I have heard of Bicester...but can't place that at all...iykwim...and 12 weeks pg...aww...funny how many mn'ers have 3 or even more Kiddies....!

sugarmatches · 27/09/2007 13:35

One never does lunch sweetie, one simply pushes the nicoise salad around the plate and gives the "impression" of eating.

Congrats, by the way. As soon as my ds is out of his "he just might be a tad bit possessed" stage, I might even be able to envy you for your new little babe.
