Are you honestly sticking to 2m social distancing?

From my point of view lowering the social distancing to 1m will make no difference to the R number. I have quite a lot of friends of all ages and no of no one (apart from one family who are shielding so not going out) who is actually sticking to this. We are not hugging and kissing but we are standing pretty close. It's the same with everyone at my work - we wash hands regularly and don't sit too close, but often stand close together.
We did in the beginning of lockdown until probably the end of May/beginning of June.

I am because I WFH and have a support bubble with my mum and have no desire to get within 2m of anyone else so it's not difficult!

I'm hoping a 1m distance would mean more people allowed in shops and thus less queues. Hopefully just generally get the country working more as the 2m rule is quite debilitating in some areas, may allow more people to get back to work normally.

Yes OP, of course. I don't want to catch or spread covid 19 or contribute to anyones death, illness or another lockdown. I would leave wherever I was if I could not keep 2 (at least) metres. Some things are more important than convenience and what we want as individuals.

I've only left for medical appointment and genuine essentials, have had food delivered, have not seen family yet and so on. I would do so again for another 3 months if it made a difference. Shame so many others care only about their small bubble. I appreciate those in certain jobs cannot social distance and that is a somewhat different matter but socialising outside of the recommendations because they've formed their own "point of view" (usually that makes their own life easier and excuses their actions)

Only when feasible. I will not walk in the road or through the mud to distance myself from people.

No. I don’t know anyone who is. Impossible in shops and around the school. If I’m walking with a friend 2m is too wide for the footpath. Maybe depends where you live. I’m in a densely populated urban area with narrow Victorian streets.

I dont deliberately go near people in shops etc but I have been near family members a couple of times in recent weeks. I am working full time in an office and although we have empty desks between occupied desks we still have to consult each other at times about information on our screens which means having someone come and look at the screen to give their opinion.
What makes me cross is that soon we are going to have a firm in that will place stickers on those empty desks and lines on the floor to remind us to stay 2 metres apart from each other . Probably in the same week it is reduced to 1 metre. And it will all cost public money to do it.

I don't intentionally break the rule, but find it hard when in the supermarket etc. I just find most other people are shocking at it and it's hard to avoid them. I tend to get a move on for this very reason! I'm not particularly scared of the idea of catching COVID, I just can't deal with those that are so blasé about it

The r number is dropping faster everywhere but London and south east right now so I assume the distancing might be better elsewhere?

Well I am sticking to it - seems like a few people round where I live have forgotten though. So today I walked in the road twice to avoid people, first Lady gave me a lovely smile and said thank you. Second time the family couldn’t even look at me, just carried on with their conversation, bloody rude!

I work in the nhs and it’s impossible to social distance at work no matter how hard I’ve tried over the past 12 weeks.
It’s like living in a parallel universe. Work is one world and outside work is another. It’s really difficult.

At work it is impossible to maintain the 2m distance.

Because of this I think I’m quite lax, not intentional, but just because my brain isn’t wired to keep a distance from people because I don’t do it at work.

I do try to be mindful of it but it feels so unnatural. Without even thinking about it I touched a stranger today because I bumped into her in the supermarket. I instantly put my hands on her shoulders whilst apologising you her.

Like I say, I do try to mindful of it but because I don’t do it at work, and am in close contact with many, many people, distancing from people just doesn’t come naturally to my mind.

Yes I'm sticking to it rigidly. Although it appears that lockdown rules down apply on my housing estate.

The neighbours on one side had a party last night until 3am with a house full of people. I've just seen a car pull up at my neighbour's over the road. Two women and two children got out, lots of hugs and kisses on the drive with the couple that live there and then they all went into the house together (garden is accessible without going through house) I hate people at the moment.

We're not sticking to it. I haven't touched anyone or gone in their houses but when I am outside I'm less than 2m. I went a run with a friend this morning and we were beside each other. I stay more away from people in shops, but outside I'm not so bothered any more.

I see many people sitting 1m or less in big groups or in gardens.

I am absolutely sticking to it. I would feel very uncomfortable being a metre away, I have to say.

Not in school as just impossible but staff stick to it between themselves.

In shops I keep my distance and move away from people who seem to think they can disrespect other wishes and get close.

Out and about I stick to it where possible by living over to side etc.

However I don't panic if I pass someone close or they pass me. t and T is 15mins within 2m. So I doubt 5 seconds is too much risk.

we stopped all this when the riots/protesting was allowed to happen in all major cites

as my boys are disabled they understood why they had to stay in but being stuck in was causing them distress

we stuck it for weeks but when we saw all the riots we thought bugger this ,we are not staying in 24/7 (as boys dont sleep)with them being in distress because we cant visit family when all these strangers are ruining riot

we do it in the supermarket because we have to(saying that though we go a hour before closing as its empty and no queueing )but other wise we started visiting family weeks ago

I’m definitely sticking to it but I find other people aren’t when I’m out for walks etc and I typically have to make the effort to move.

I’m 29 weeks pregnant and have other health complications and it’s not worth the risk for me.

No. I decided a while ago I wasn't walking in the road or leaping into hedges to get out of the way of groups of people.
