💯

However, once he has a bath and has clean hair at the end of RotK he loses his allure. I like the grubby look.

P.s. Have you seen a Walk on the Moon? 🤤

Waxonwaxoff0 · 19/06/2020 08:06

It used to be Legolas for me when I was a teen. Now I prefer Eomer.

NoToast · 19/06/2020 08:13

A Walk on the Moon? Yes. I read on here once that there are women that are never the same again after seeing that. I quite agree. The waterfall....

DarklyDreamingDexter · 19/06/2020 08:16

Hell no. You can keep Aragorn, I’ll have Legolas.

ferretface · 19/06/2020 08:17

Watched the two towers yesterday, I totally understand Eowyn's crush. Weirdly I don't find Viggo Mortensen attractive at all without his grubby long dark hair and stubble.

My husband asked (only half jokingly) if he should grow out his lockdown hair to that style Grin

ambereeree · 19/06/2020 08:19

Yes yes and yes to Aragorn. But not the actor Viggo mortensen. I think it's definitely the brooding character.

AltheaVestr1t · 19/06/2020 08:21

Agree with PPs. Aragorn as Strider is delightful but less so as the King, and Viggo himself is somewhat disappointing!

Doingtheboxerbeat · 19/06/2020 08:27

I love Viggo in everything, especially the Perfect Murder, my god 😍.

FancyRutabaga · 19/06/2020 08:29

YANBU I would climb him like a pole.

Viggo is only sexy in that role though. All men are improved by more hair, beard, and smouldering.

lidoshuffle · 19/06/2020 08:31

I don't remember the actor in the film, but reading the book, as a hormone-crazed teenager, I thought Aragorn/Strider was sexy.

TheRainbowCollection · 19/06/2020 08:55

Oh yes! Funnily enough didn't really used to be my type but my DH looks a bit like him, I think, and I really started to get the appeal of Aragorn after we got together!

ErickBroch · 19/06/2020 08:58

Aragorn is the best thing about LOTR in the books and film - for character and looks! I am a huge fan of Viggo Mortensen - he is an incredible actor. My pet is named Viggo Grin

xine15 · 19/06/2020 09:12

Oooh yes defo team Aragorn here. But character (book and film) over actor, I really don't find Vigo attractive elsewhere. And as a pp has said when he cleans himself up at the very end I'm out. It's weird because he's totally not what I'd say my type is.

Ineedanamechangeagain · 19/06/2020 09:17

We watched Fellowship the other day and my husband said the same thing to me. I’m afraid I disagreed. To me there is something so unattractive about a man who takes himself so seriously!

God yes! And the bit in the film when he crashes the double doors open to save Theoden from Wormtongue’s spell!

Verify · 19/06/2020 09:30

As a teenager I was really into Legolas, but watching the films again as an adult his breathy voice and inane dialogue really annoyed me. Definitely an Aragorn fan though, and Viggo is a great actor.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 19/06/2020 09:32

And the bit in the film when he crashes the double doors open to save Theoden from Wormtongue’s spell!

Isn't that after the spell has been lifted? After the bit where he has been dragged off by a wolf and dreamed of Arwen, when he turns up at Helm's Deep?

Either way yes yes yes, my H gets visibly irritated whenever we watch the Two Towers as I enjoy that single moment so much Grin

AuntImmortelle · 19/06/2020 09:36

Agreed.

He is known as Arahorn in this house. Even DH calls him that now.

ssd · 19/06/2020 09:46

I've just googled viggo, am a bit in shock. I'll stick to LOTR.

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 19/06/2020 09:50

I love the books disproportionately but wouldn't have cast VM personally. If I were casting it now I'd pick Henry Cavill based entirely on Witcher but with dark hair

sigh

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 19/06/2020 09:52

Also, I had a massive crush on Aragorn as a character when I read the books as a kid and was totally bemused when the film came out and everyone thought Legolas was this sizzling action hero. Not what I got from the books at all!

cunningartificer · 19/06/2020 09:55

Aragorn is gorgeous as strider, loved him in the books, but at the end of the film that smooth spade -like beard made him look SO dull and unsexy! Quite spoilt the ending...

cunningartificer · 19/06/2020 09:56

Though always had a soft spot for Legolas as well. A man who can hit the spot 10/10 has something special going for him...

Chaaaaaching · 19/06/2020 10:03

Aragorn, Legolas, Eomer, Faramir and Boromir all do it for me Grin
