Am I completely out of touch? I can't tell anymore.

Is spending £900k on painting a plane ridiculous at any time and even more so right now?

We have the second highest death rate based on confirmed cases. Belgium is higher but tested and reported more.
We are still not reporting all deaths.

In answer to the repainted plane, I think it is beyond appalling. I feel they decided to announce it today after the U turn on summer meal vouchers. i.e. we've done a good thing so let's slip this one in and hope no one notices.
It makes me angry

So you think, at this moment in time, something like painting a plane is so very necessary? I'd love to hear your justification for it. Apart from it being 33 minutes of being in the EU or some such nonsense. It's not necessarily about the amount of money, it's the perception of it whilst so many are struggling.

Left ridiculued by you, I can take that, you are one ridiculous person who is trying to make out that this is OK.

Someones obviously tried to sneak that announcement out whilst they are riding high from the school food plan.

Painting a plane for 900 thousand really misses the mood of the nation to say the least.
Also i always feel a bit for Belguim in these threads, they have a very wide and possibly the most accurate coronavirus count. It is more or less the same as ( even more possibly) their excess deaths. So if we are going to compare with belguim we should really use this fig in the uk ( 65,000 plus).
