Post Lockdown - love your OH more - or less ?

With lockdown easing and most of us having spent the longest time ever with our OH’s day and night - have you found you love them more or love them less ? And why ?

I love him just as much as before, but my lord am I ready for some time to myself.
MIL is visiting on Saturday (social bubble) & they're taking DS out to the park for a the morning. I cannot wait.

I thought my DH would drives me insane in the first week of lockdown while I was wfh. He’s now returned to his workplace more or less f/t and I’m missing him!

More. My husband and I have a wonderful life together and lockdown has only added to it. It’s been lovely spending the extra time together. I think if we had kids (don’t want them) we’d probably have strangled each other though! 😂

More. I think lockdown has cemented my view that he and the DC are the only people I enjoy spending any length of time with, apart from my mother who I miss terribly (she is shielding).
He's my best friend and confidante.

Although me and my husband have worked all the time he is not commuting in London so we have seen lots more of each other. I have discovered that although I love him and our teenager I really like them too and are enjoying their company.

Work is fairly stressful but the rest of our life is really simple.

More actually, he’s been very pleasant and helpful. I think WFH has made him less stressed. I thought we’d drive each other mad but we haven’t at all.

Same , I've loved spending time with him , both worked from home , he's now back and I'm pleased for him as he's enjoying it

Oh god more. And I value him more. Not that I didn’t value him before but he is such an amazing, resilient man, and lockdown has highlighted just how brilliant he is. God, I am so lucky to have him, I really am.

I’m pleasantly surprised at how pleasant lockdown has been in terms of DP and I. 2019 was a shocker for us and it was basically over between us before Christmas. Lockdown has cemented the good work we did between Christmas and March and now we’re pretty sure we’re going to have w second baby.

Same. We've argued more but out of frustration, we have a five month old and a two and a half year old and a partially scaffolded (inside) house. It's crazy.... I have mentioned a few times I cant wait for him to get back to work, but the reality is it will be wierd without him now and he's spent alot more time with the kids

Although I wish he didn't keep telling me how great it has been. He has had no work so completely sorted the garden. Love him for his positivity but it grated at times.

More. He’s been an absolute rock through the death of my father, and the stresses of being stuck in with a 3yo!

There’s been days I’d quite happily shove him under the patio, but our communication has improved, because it’s had to! I find it very weird being apart from him now, poor guy Grin

More, having him off work has been amazing and he’s been brilliant with the kids and done so much more around the house (I’m a SAHM so usually do almost everything) I feel like he appreciates more how hard I work and I know that given the time he has stepped up so we both respect each other more. The baby is going to be heart broken when he goes back to work next month and I’ll be sad too (although will enjoy the peace a bit too)

Definitely more. He’s been my absolute rock & I couldn’t have said that a few years ago. Obviously it’s been tough at times but I have so enjoyed having him at home. He’s self employed & doesn’t know when he can return to work. I chose to stay at home & will hopefully be returning next week now that DD is starting to settle back into school. DH has made me laugh every day. We are pulling together lots more with DD, who is challenging to put it mildly. He has held me in the middle of the night when I’m having a wobble & when a dear family friend had died from Covid 19. He’s made wonderful bread & Hairy Biker pies, also cooked a lot more meals from scratch. One of our bunnies was ill & he was brilliant with her, administering her medicine daily for a month whilst reassuring me. We had our wedding anniversary during lockdown but couldn’t do much so I can’t wait to take him out when everything’s open again to let him know just how much I appreciate him ❤️

The same. He was great before and he's great now.

I've had moments where I could have driven over him with a Sherman tank but that's true of regular times anyway.

More, probably. I suspect I took him for granted a bit, but he's been brilliant company over lockdown and a calming, supportive influence.

I'm usually out of the house for too many hours to appreciate him fully. But I'm glad I married him and I'm glad for all our years together. Makes me think I might survive retirement without killing him...Grin

More. We’ve had some tricky times over the last few years but he’s been doing a lot of work on himself and we’ve been working hard on our marriage. We had our third DC just before lockdown and I was worried things would fall apart under the additional strain of three littlies at home. Actually he’s been great and we’ve worked really well as a team. I’m much more confident in our relationship now and really proud of him.
