My mother and mil are obsessed with not getting wet, coats, hats brollies etc. If they were to nip out of a car to post a letter they would both get their protective gear on and it really winds me up.
Me I don't do umbrellas they always break or get left, if I'm walking the dog in the rain i'll pt my hood up and if i'm with the buggy I'll put the cover on but really I don't mind getting wet - infact I quite enjoy it and anyone who doesn't annoys me

I love being out in the rain but I can remember my legs getting wet when going to school and then being really itchy, so I make sure dd1 has tights or trousers on when it is raining. Dd2 wears trousers to pre-school so she has wellies on. We do have umbrellas but I've only used them since having to wait around outside school/pre-school - before that a hat was all I needed. I am inclined to go outside in a summer storm and just stand there with my face upturned, and soft Autumn rain makes me want to go for a long walk. Difficult with dcs though as at least one of them is snotty, and getting wet with snot is not a good idea.
