Yes we can book hair appointments, nail appointments and banish the roots in a matter of weeks. We can shop today!! We are counting down the days to hotels, restaurants and bars opening. We are breaking out.

We have turned a corner in England people!!

The lockdown is ending at long last - so what are you doing today?

OP posts:

The nhs would be in the state it was before covid.
Chronically underfunded.
I’d be happy to pay a few quid extra to keep it healthy.

HowLongCanICallitBabyWeight · 15/06/2020 17:47

Is your life so terrible you can't wait to queue for five hours to get into Primark??

Musicforsmorks · 15/06/2020 17:49

Oh dear.

understandmenow · 15/06/2020 17:49

@Musicforsmorks surely less national insurance would be more underfunding? So keeping the economy and jobs going is important.

DisobedientHamster · 15/06/2020 17:49

Archery, people on this thread are talking about going to a shop for the first time in 3 months, not going to all-night raves and inhaling hippy crack.

sassbott · 15/06/2020 17:50

I don’t think there is a sod you vibe. (Have finally skimmed the thread). What I think there is is a firm pushback on those posters who don’t agree with the government loosening guidelines.

A poster has posted here about finally being able to do something, all within guidelines and is being pulled apart as a result. That attitude is the problem. Because posters on here seem intent on shaming people who are trying to return to some semblance of normality. All within the guidelines.

So the sod you vibe in response? I don’t blame it one bit. Anyone would think the Op had posted that she’d gone out and gleefully hugged / French kissed every other human being she came in contact with. It’s ludicrous.

The OP has done what is allowed, as have thousands of others. Thank goodness.

DisobedientHamster · 15/06/2020 17:51

Is your life so terrible you can't wait to queue for five hours to get into Primark??

Fuck yeah! It's even worse than that.

sassbott · 15/06/2020 17:51

@DisobedientHamster, completely agree. The responses are wholly disproportionate. It’s gotten ridiculous.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 15/06/2020 17:52

😂😂😂😂 Love it!!!
Hobnobswantshernameback · 15/06/2020 17:52

And there's also that mumsnet snobbery
"I'm not going to queue to go somewhere as oh so common as vulgar as primary"

Mascotte · 15/06/2020 17:53

Are there all night raves and hippie crack too...?! I'm moving to England.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 15/06/2020 17:53

primark
Sodding phone

Willow2017 · 15/06/2020 17:53

I find the gleeful "sod you all" tone of these threads really worrying.

Dont know what thread you are reading as its not this one.

Mangofandangoo · 15/06/2020 17:54

For the most part I agree that this is great, a bit of normality back and we can all start feeling like our lives are our own.

And then there's Bicester Village shoppers who truly are a different breed as you can see.

Lockdown is ending and we are off to the shops!!!!!! :)))))))))

This with bells on.

Hold the door, I'm coming, too!

Mangofandangoo · 15/06/2020 17:56

And just to clarify, I wasn't there but have stolen the picture from Facebook 😬

Hearhoovesthinkzebras · 15/06/2020 17:56

You can't visit your mum because you are shielding, but you won't be forever and you'll get to see them again.

I'm really sorry about your mum, but you cannot know that I will get to see my mum and dad again. They are both very elderly with significant health problems. No one knows when their time will come. No one knows when they will lift shielding so that I can go and visit them. Rumours are they won't lift shielding until there's a vaccine, which could be god knows when.

FuzzyPuffling · 15/06/2020 17:57

This thread is so bloody depressing,.

But here's an idea for all you shoppers - how about you all go and buy a shed load of luxury goods (hence perking up the economy no end) and then deliver them to the doorstep of a shielding person, who is probably at the end of their tether at the moment.

A little thoughtfulness would go a very long way.

understandmenow · 15/06/2020 17:58

Rumours are they won't lift shielding until there's a vaccine, which could be god knows when.

Well if that's the case, how on earth would you expect everyone to stay locked down until then? It's not possible is it?

TBH I would avoid these threads if I were you.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 15/06/2020 18:00

Yeah sounds great
I'll go and try and find random shielders and leave em some Primark pants on their doorstep
That'll cheer em up a treat

understandmenow · 15/06/2020 18:00

@FuzzyPuffling no problem, I'll do that when I deliver their weekly shop, like I've been doing for them since lockdown began. Also, not sure why it has to be luxury items, won't primark do?

Vivi0 · 15/06/2020 18:01

@understandmenow, thank you.

Yes, I suffered HG in my first pregnancy but I was able to manage it and function somewhat normally with medication.

I’m on various medications this time around, but they have not really helped, although I am much better on them than not. Nothing could have prepared me for this.

Just over 7 weeks to go and counting down every day! It will be over soon, just have to keep pushing on.

understandmenow · 15/06/2020 18:03

I tell you want @Vivi0 you deserve the best behaved baby in the world after that. Hope the rest passes quickly for you and your delivery is super smooth.

ThanksThanks

understandmenow · 15/06/2020 18:03
