Bought a gorgeous puzzle of London that includes lots of feel good symbolism including Mary Poppins, buses, taxis, the London marathon, fish & chips etc. but every woman (apart from Mary) has a ridiculous set of boobs.

AIBU to be completely puzzled that Mike Jupp / Gibson's puzzles this this is ok?

I can only see two.. It wouldn't bother me. They are caricatures.

slipperywhensparticus · 13/06/2020 20:33

Picture?

ImNotChangingMyUsernameAgain · 13/06/2020 20:38

I’m reluctant to link to it but here you go...

And the final one...

That's pretty obscene!

And who is that first woman meant to be portraying?!

ImNotChangingMyUsernameAgain · 13/06/2020 20:52

I bought it to do with my kids!

fascinated · 13/06/2020 20:54

It’s a bit benny hill eh? I’d ditch it

SausageSimon · 13/06/2020 20:54

I find it quite tasteless! They're ridiculous boobs

mogloveseggs · 13/06/2020 20:56

Crikey!

MagicKingdomDizzy · 13/06/2020 20:56

I'd be reluctant to do that with my kids. I know it's probably meant in a jokey way but it's not a great way to portray women.

YeahWhatevver · 13/06/2020 20:59

Not more worried that the woman drawn in the car doesn't have a seatbelt on? 😱

Of all the silly things to to get in a tizz about.

fascinated · 13/06/2020 20:59

And no charity shops... bin please!

molifly14 · 13/06/2020 21:01

Is it a wasgij one? They tend to be a bit outrageous

ScarfLadysBag · 13/06/2020 21:02

YANBU (but people will say you are, because we are sadly used to continual micro-aggressions and stuff like this so it doesn't seem a big deal). It's gross and reductive, even within the style of art.

Samtsirch · 13/06/2020 21:02

I would have expected it to have an age warning on the box due to those images, ie, ‘’ not suitable for persons under the age of....’’, or something along those lines.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 13/06/2020 21:02

All the Jupp ones are like that I think. Perhaps the actual image was drawn in the 70s 🤔

DamnYankee · 13/06/2020 21:04

That is one weird puzzle.
We bought a 3D puzzle of Paris. Highly recommend!
(And no boobs!)

MissBaskinIfYoureNasty · 13/06/2020 21:04

Gross. And that runner salivating behind the woman!! Bin it.

nosnugglesforyou · 13/06/2020 21:08

That’s fucking grim.

of all the silly things to get in a tizz about

I’m not sure portraying women in porno style with ridiculous tits with men salivating over them (whilst all the men are clothed) is a silly thing to get upset about. It’s pretty serious misogyny.

Nanny0gg · 13/06/2020 21:19

Did you not see the pictures before you ordered it?

(struggling to see where Mary Poppins fits in there)

ScarfLadysBag · 13/06/2020 21:21

Does Mary Poppins have gigantic breasts too?!

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 13/06/2020 21:21

Yeah that's shit. Actually really fucking gross and horrible.

Complain (do you have twitter?) and bin it.

Bundlemuffin · 13/06/2020 21:26

WTF, that is horrible. Might have been considered OK in the 70s. Has no place now.

Mike Jupp/Gibson's Puzzles can fuck off with their creepy sexualisation of every female in that picture.

Snooks1971 · 13/06/2020 21:29

Ugh.

LellyMcKelly · 13/06/2020 21:36

Yeah, that’s grim.
