DH refuses to address builders bum issues

DH has always had a bit of an issue with ill fitting jeans/shorts and his bumcrack on show. It's been years and every time I mention it he says he doesn't care and I feel bad for saying something BUT I find it embarrassing and now the DC are getting older I am embarrassed for them as well - also I don't think it right that other people have to see his hairy bum crack hanging out.
He won't wear trousers that go over his belly so they fit badly. Obviously finding better fitting clothes is the answer but if he won't even consider putting it away then what should I do?!

I wish they would make it illegal.

Why don’t you buy him new jeans and belts and get rid of his old ones?

livefornaps · 13/06/2020 22:23

@1Morewineplease, all i'm saying is, some people, you wonder if they are pumping methane through their arse. You want some barrier to that rather than full-moon exposure

ShebaShimmyShake · 13/06/2020 22:30

Refuse to be seen in public with him. It's one thing to dress casually, it's quite another to go around with your fucking crack on display. Just refuse to go anywhere he is until he learns how to get dressed.

tara66 · 13/06/2020 22:43

Have you taken good photos of his assets - close ups? If not, take several and have large copies made - show them to him all the time. Does he need to go on a diet before trousers will stay up?

recycledteenager24 · 14/06/2020 13:25

everyone should be able to dress how they please but this looks awful i'd tell my dh out right i 'd be embarrassed to be seen out with him looking like that [wouldn't go out with him anyway] he'd hate it if i wore a low cut dress that skimmed the top of my nips and quite rightly so, not that i would anyway. judgy cow me Grin

Holeywalls · 14/06/2020 13:27

Oh OP mine is the same! He’s a thin as a rake and wears his trousers so low down on his hips that you can see an inch of skinny white bum every time he bends over - made worse by the fact he’s long in the body so t shirts aren’t exactly generous on him. It drives me absolutely mental!

Xenia · 14/06/2020 13:33

My student son was complaining about this of me last summer and yet his student friend (a girl) who was in our house had a crop top on showing her middle from just under the breasts to hips so I am not sure what the different is other than age which I said. I said to him. I can show any bits of me I like in my own house.

Fatarseflanagan09 · 14/06/2020 13:35

If you see a toddler with his or her shorts hanging down you pull them up and teach them to do the same, nobody wants to see an overgrown toddler with his arse hanging out.

Holeywalls · 14/06/2020 14:13

Most people would be mortified to be showing off their arse crack. I think it says a lot about people who when told about it, refuse to ensure it doesn’t happen anymore. That’s certainly true of my OH.

GreyGardens88 · 14/06/2020 14:17

He doesn't need to have trousers that go up over his belly, he just needs to wear a tight belt

RachelGreen45 · 14/06/2020 14:45

Sorry OP but I’m pissing myself at this thread!
I don’t really have any advise, maybe ask his mam and dad to have a word?
Long tops?
Gift him a nice leather belt?

Maybe show him this😂

recycledteenager24 · 14/06/2020 17:37

rachel Grin call ss won't someone think of that poor child ?

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 14/06/2020 17:51

true, but farting out of a butt naked ass?????

Maybe he strictly follows the MN default rule of booking into a hotel at least two counties away and driving there to use the en-suite bathroom in your single room every time you need a fart.

Some of the suggestions here: how would you feel if you decided to show a bit of cleavage in a low-cut top and somebody came to drop an ice cube in it, plant a flower or, worse, take a close-up photo to show you just how unacceptably disgusting they thought you looked?

It sounds like, when it comes to a Dagenham Smile, a lot of people are in favour of slot-shaming.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 14/06/2020 17:53

I do agree that the variety of gas-powered safety airbags protecting the kid on the back of the bike might not be the most premium sort, though.

RachelGreen45 · 14/06/2020 18:06

@recycledteenager24 was too appropriate not to post😂 no ones having a worst day than that poor sod😂

Wanttobeateacherinscotland · 14/06/2020 18:08

That pic could be my OH 🙈

RachelGreen45 · 14/06/2020 19:51

@Wanttobeateacherinscotland oh no😂 I’d hate for my partner to be airing his crack out in public, don’t know how you and OP copeFlowers

TomPinch · 14/06/2020 22:54

I fail to see the difference between this and pyjamas in the daytime and other, similar slobby normalities.

Fred56 · 14/06/2020 23:07

Sadly this is my life, DH has his on show all the time it drives me mad. The children have stuck sticks down tried to pull trousers up and down but nothing works. This thread though is making me laugh.

Stripeytopgirl · 14/06/2020 23:36

My dad always has his arse crack hanging out, it really bloody infuriates me. NO ONE WANTS TO SEE YOUR HAIRY ARSE PUT IT AWAY. YANBU.

Stripeytopgirl · 14/06/2020 23:39

@TomPinch what’s wrong with pyjamas in the day? 🤔 lazy Sunday? I’m not getting dressed for that! I wouldn’t wanna live in your house 🤣

Doodar · 15/06/2020 00:18

Shove a pencil down it.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 15/06/2020 00:29

It's one thing if he does it when wearing trousers, but it would be a fashion calamity if he does it in shorts too.

Tell him it's cleavage OR legs - but never both at the same time.

ispepsiokay · 15/06/2020 00:37

Wish has the problem solved!

UnhappyMondays · 15/06/2020 00:43

@Jaxhog Stick a flower in it. 😂

My first thought was a bejewelled thong! (As a jokey gift to highlight the issue, not because I’d want it worn)
