My late mother had two thugs spit on her and push her off a bench ten years ago in a London park, after hearing her Irish accent. Cops weren't interested. She never really felt comfortable in the park again.

Hopefully this guys are id'd, charged, punished and shamed. I hope those people get to enjoy picnics without fear of that kind of incident again. I know how terrified I'd be if a gang of angry men came up and spat and kicked me, it's not just what happened, it's fear of more happening too.
