Not five minutes ago, I read a newspaper report which said they're from the Democratic Football Lads Alliance, so I think you're right.

According to google, they're an offshoot of the Football Lads Alliance and sites variously describe them as a organised football hooligan groups or a far-right groups.

Definitely hasn't been here, been seeing news reports with despair and thinks they're absolute dregs just like I do.

They're the "ordinary" bloke in that they are active parts of community and who large parts of society interact with day to day without knowing their views are often called "top blokes" by those who don't see this side to them. They are "ordinary" in that they are men that build your roads, men that deliver your shopping, men that fix your electrics and plumbing, men that raise money for charity, men that have been doing the shopping for shielding people.

The women and men in their lives are people you'd interact with day to day and also perfectly capable of being a productive part of society while holding shitty views.

They are ordinary in that sense which is what I think the pp meant. They weren't saying racism is ordinary, or at least I didn't read it way.

This is a genuine question - there seems to be a widespread belief on this thread that women are less likely to hold far-right beliefs than men, is there any statistical evidence for this? I would guess that men are far more likely to perpetuate racially motivated violence, just as they are more likely to commit all violent crimes, but are they more likely to hold racist views? I had a quick look and found this article -www.jstor.org/stable/1519836?seq=1 - which suggests there isn't a big difference between white men and women in how likely they are to be racist, but I don't know if this matches other research or not.

Also, I'm not married to one of these men and the couple of male family members who I've heard spout this shit we are no contact with and have been for years.

I’ve looked into psephology a little bit and I seem to remember women are slightly more likely to bits labour than men, but don’t quite be as I can’t remember where I read it.

Most of these won’t be married. They will probably have been married at some point but can’t see that lasting long. They are social misfits. They will hate everything and everyone other than each other and their football teams.

I don't think she is in any way suggesting that they are responsible for them.
It is interesting that the vast majority seem to be men. I think it's because a lot of men who would have traditionally worked in factories, docks etc feel disenfranchised.
They therefore cling onto these outdated views of how the world should be. Some only have being white as an advantage in their eyes. They see immigrants as the enemy as well as women I believe.
