I feel your pain and your pride! It’s also hard when your kids are telling their Dad they don’t want him to go to work as they know he’s been called in to work the protest, they’ve seen the London footage from last weekends protests and they’re scared he’ll get hurt. It’s heartbreaking. But yes, even without the protests it’s a daily battle of being spat at, verbally abused etc. etc.

Mrhodgeymaheg, I think you hit the nail on the head there. I hope they didn't, she might burst!

Her friend was recording it though wasn’t she - telling them to look at the camera and get their faces. I’m sure she thought she would look the hero.

And yes I get the irony that she ended up on the receiving end of the crap. As I said - no it’s not ok to record people to plaster on social media to get a pile on.

Lordfrontpaw · 15/06/2020 08:04

I didn’t say it was a crime - it was a comment within a discussion about someone trying goad people on camera to what end? And we know when was generally out vandalising things - people trying to stir which got these idiots out to ‘protect the statues’.

LordFrontPaw I just don’t like how people think it’s fine to record someone to post it on social media with the intention to cause them embarrassment or a pile on.
Do you realise how ironic this sounds? You are talking about a young woman who was recorded and subsequently broadcast on social media (albeit by someone from 'the other side') in order to shame her/cause a pile on. Hmm

Ah, @BaileysforBreakfast - facts don’t matter in the face of ingrained prejudice

Exactly. And last time I looked 'being nippy' wasn't a crime.

according to the racists on my local paper- 6 people were stabbed by blm, one guy got his throat slashed but the msm wont report it. plus lee rigby. no evidence for their claims, no reasoning with 'patriots'

they are the thickest of the thick.

She was being nippy and either she or someone else was recording them (asking to see their faces) to somehow ‘shame’ them. I’m not hysterical- I just don’t like how people think it’s fine to record someone to post it on social media with the intention to cause them embarrassment or a pile on.

LordFrontPaw Well excuse me for getting the wrong monument/statue.
Well, there's a reason why certain people talk about 'the cenotaph' in this context. It's so much more powerful to provoke outrage at the vandalism of a memorial to honour the dead, rather than the vandalism of a statue of a man that most people have never heard of. As I said, facts are important.

And she wasn’t ‘asking question’ she was nipping at them like some self appointed social warrior.
That's one opinion. I watched the - extremely short - video that was circulating and saw a young woman asking why some placards had been removed, but then i tend not to get hysterical about 'social warriors'.

Some people at the BLM marches might be cunts, but all white supremacists are cunts.

Can't argue with that!

I'm going to start a movement for Romany, we've had far worst racism, and for far longer, but it seems to be accepted by society.
Such hypocrites, protesting against racism, yet upholding it in your own communities.
Want to stop racism look at the real outcasts GRT across the world, and of course the UK too.

Worse racism? By whose metric?

I've seen a lot of ... romany have worse racism.

I'm not too clued up on BAME but I think you'll find that Romany, by its very definition, is part of this group.

Are you suggesting that BAME do not protect the rights of Romany?

To answer this question properly (although I think my first post was a very good guess), I think these women are scared, stupid, or hold similar views. I can't see how anyone in their right mind would find one of these men attractive. Not only are they repulsive in general, I can't see the conversation being particularly rivetting, or the sex being particularly good either. They haven't left the school playground yet - I think calling them 'men' or even 'blokes' is being very generous.

At least the far-right are not so prevalent in the UK as some other European countries - Germany, Sweden, Poland, France, Italy...

I have some knowledge about this due to my husband being a director of an antisemitism charity.
Quite often,It’s a case of’ birds of a feather flock together’ and the partner is equally as involved or at least holds very similar views.
You also get a lot of single people, who haven’t had much success with romantic relationships due to their obsession and general weirdness Those ones often find friendships within the network of other creeps that they move in.

I'm not defending racists at all but did you look at those photographs? One of the men looks as though he could have brain damage. Who are you defending?

Like attracts like in my experience but I dare say there will be one or two wives planting their foot up their husbands asses.

You can't watch them every moment so I'm sure there's a shock in store for one or 2 unaware wives today.
