In a miserable, joyless world of queues and masks. A couple of friends have lost their jobs this week. Where are we going with this? When will it end?

Yes all Nepalese people are constantly positive and smiling. Not a patronising remark at all.

Regretful123 · 13/06/2020 19:51

@Teateaandmoretea there won’t be as it’s a new normal.

Teateaandmoretea · 13/06/2020 19:52

@Regretful123 well quite

randomer · 13/06/2020 19:53

I don't thon that poor little kid who wants to go camping is bothered about Nepal.

tobee · 13/06/2020 19:53

Plus what if I don't have my health?

Teateaandmoretea · 13/06/2020 19:54

And there are people starving in famines who are worse off than people in Nepal anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️

cheapskatemum · 13/06/2020 19:55

Agree with OP's statement. Now the sun has started shining again, though, I find I can cope with it. Maybe it's meh weather in June that I can't cope with, rather than COVID-19, lockdown etc.

derxa · 13/06/2020 19:57

If you have your health I don't. I have cancer and the lockdown.

Taliya · 13/06/2020 19:58

teateaandmoretea

I'm sorry but if people can't handle a partial lockdown and have to go without a few luxuries but know their basic needs will be met by the welfare state and feel like they are losing the plot because it's a soooo boring then they need to grow up and and develop some resiliance. Really...People are very molicoddled in this country. God help us if we did have a world war III...People would just not be able to cope ...well alot of the moany Minnie on here certainly wouldnt. 🙄

Ghostlyglow · 13/06/2020 20:00

I'm a bit sick of people talking about war Hmm

Oh get lost dear. You have no idea at all about the struggles people are facing. You do not have a robust cost/ benefit analysis that proves that making everyone’s life a mystery has net positive gain.

Mnthrowaway20202 · 13/06/2020 20:01

If I had a terminal illness I wouldn’t want these to be my last few months. It pales in comparison but I have had minor heath issues triggered by lockdown

Teateaandmoretea · 13/06/2020 20:02

Resilience is needed to accept that life is less safe than before in most people’s opinion.

tobee · 13/06/2020 20:03

@Taliya what about my husband who's dialysis sessions were reduced by 1 and 1/2 hours a week as direct result of this situation? Is he allowed to miserable or not? By your judgement?

Regretful123 · 13/06/2020 20:03

@Taliya you realise that the economy isn’t moving so your money is going to run out.

Look at what’s happening on the streets, there is now race riots.

Stop locking people up and let us socialise.

GalesThisMorning · 13/06/2020 20:03

I think most people are coping. We're a bit bored and stir crazy, most of us are missing people and things, but we're okay.

People who are really desperately unhappy post about it quite a lot, and maybe that feeds into a loop of others adding in that they too are desperately unhappy. That's the nature of the internet I think. In real life as far as I can tell most people are okay and will be okay.

Teateaandmoretea · 13/06/2020 20:03

@tobee only covid matters to these fanatics

Teateaandmoretea · 13/06/2020 20:04

In real life as far as I can tell most people are okay and will be okay.

The privilege in that statement was a staggering frankly. Open your eyes

Taliya · 13/06/2020 20:05

Tobee I've been on extended trips of 4 months of more each time I visited to Nepal, which is around 10 times over a number of years to help out a child sponsorship charity and they have a help of a lot of resilience and a different attitude to life. They are more religious Hindu or Bhuddist so maybe that makes them more positive and have a better outlook on life. They are tough people and many do not have the material possessions we have here and they are more positive. That's not being patronising it's the truth. The Sherpas also have a wonderful outlook on life ...very tough and resilient people.

GalesThisMorning · 13/06/2020 20:07

@teatea I am privileged. Most people I know are privileged. There is a good chance that you too are privileged, in comparison to someone else.

I have a roof over my head, good physical and mental health for myself and my loved ones, food and running water. I've won the fucking lottery every day that I can say that.

Teateaandmoretea · 13/06/2020 20:08

Well done you others aren’t. You have no idea about me or anyone else so jog on.

Lunar567 · 13/06/2020 20:09

Everything in Italy is now opened: cinemas theatres, restaurants, bars, swimming pools, hair dressers. And we have not been even told when those places will be opened.
Everything is opened in New York although they had their peak later then here.
What is the government is waiting for here?

Jannie62 · 13/06/2020 20:10

It's just getting boring now. Waiting for the "R" to reduce. Day after day... But I'm also grateful not to have had a tragedy in my family or friends. Hanging on in there! Sad

GalesThisMorning · 13/06/2020 20:11

@Teateaandmoretea don't be rude. I never said that you are fine, clearly you aren't and I dont know what your struggles are. I've said that in real life most people can cope with this. Some can't, and I'm sorry if that includes you.

Teateaandmoretea · 13/06/2020 20:12

@jannie62 the R isn’t going to reduce. The lower the number of community cases the more significant outbreaks in hospitals/ care homes will be statistically.
