I'm 5 ft 6lbs and 15 stone 6- so far too heavy! I was 10st 7 five years ago but lots of stress and a binge-eating habit/disorder mean I'm now at my heaviest.

I was just wondering if there were any people in the same situation who would like to join a weight loss support thread?

Hi!
I've been okay today, I've started calorie counting again using MyFitnessPal. I've always thought this app was a good idea but not for me, as there'd always be something I couldn't scan or measure accurately. So I'm making a point of weighing things which I thought would be a pain but surprisingly I don't mind and it helps with portion control.

I've gone a little over my calories today but I'm not beating myself up about it as I feel I've been more mindful due to being able to see the number of calories I've already had. It's making me more aware. The fact I've been in a much better and positive mood the last few days (after a wobble earlier on in the week) is definitely a good thing!

@lovely couch to 5k is going good, I did have a couple of weeks where I didn't do it because it was so hot! But getting back to it now. Will be doing week 5 day 3 tomorrow (the one where it jumps to 20 minutes!!) I completed it last year too and felt amazing, I just wish I'd kept it up afterwards.

Sorry for rambling! How's everyone else doing?

showgirl · 12/06/2020 22:08

I was 15 st 5. But I am now 14 st 3 in 30 days. I am 5ft 1. I joined the Joe wicks 90 day plan. I have lost 9.5 inches as well in the first 30 days. I bloody love it. The food is phenomenal. No fake anything all real. I am a serial up yo dieter but this just feels right. My family is also enjoying all the meals as well. I got it half price but would pay the full price for it. Ridiculous as it sounds I think this is changing my life.

Mamagiraffe · 12/06/2020 22:46

I’m 5 ft 6” and I now weigh 20.5 st :( this has to stop :(

MrsSlocombesPussy · 12/06/2020 23:50

Hi. I'd like to join. 15st 9, 5ft 4.
I've managed to lose about 5lbs weight during lockdown, but I know if I don't do something I'll end up putting even more on.
I haven't done much exercise due to a sore knee, but its getting better now so need to start walking.

blubberball · 13/06/2020 08:31

How is everyone doing? I was 15st 8lbs at New year, which is my heaviest ever, including when pregnant. Now down 25lbs since then, but still on this journey so I wanted to join. Hope everyone is doing well. Smile

ShopoholicIn · 13/06/2020 08:37

TiredSloth · 13/06/2020 09:07

5ft7” and 15st7 here.
I have been obese my whole life and once weighed over 21st (a long time ago).
I am completely stuck at 15st7 and don’t know what else I can do! I do 18:6 and typically eat between 12-6 or 1-7. My typical day includes-
B- water
L- salad with salmon/egg/halloumi/prawns
D- chicken with cauliflower rice or stir fry with no noodles etc

I’ve also started doing boogie bounce from home for exercise.

I don’t know where I’m going wrong!

MrsSlocombesPussy · 13/06/2020 09:13

I'm really unfit at the moment, so I want to get more active.
I broke my ankle a couple of years ago, so I got a bit lazy after that. Then ever since last year I've had a dodgy knee, which seems to be getting better now.
I could weep when I remember how fit I was 15 years ago!
Anyway, I've done this workout a few times and have found it useful as a starting point (low impact because of the knee).

Legoandloldolls · 13/06/2020 09:17

Can I join? I'm.eating myself to death in lockdown

wizzbangfizz · 13/06/2020 09:18

Place marking to come back later

MrsSlocombesPussy · 13/06/2020 09:18

Try again...

MadamXXX · 13/06/2020 09:21

Can I join? I’m 60, 5ft 5ins and half a pound under 15 stone.

The weight has really piled on since menopause and a few years of ill health. Amazingly, I haven’t put anything on during lockdown, even though I’m sitting on my backside working at my computer for hours on end.

I have tried several times during lockdown to kickstart a diet, but have failed miserably after a few days. To be honest, I don’t know where to start and am already feeling that I’m going to fail again. But I need to do this for my health and for my self esteem, so I’ll give it another go.

I’m going to struggle to do any exercise other than walking due to pain from arthritis. I like to swim, but heaven knows when that will be possible again. I seem to be in a bit of a downwards spiral.

Someone give me a good kick!

PuckleP · 13/06/2020 09:24

Right, got on the scales this morning 16st 5lb. This has to change aiming to start 16:8 today but I've been up for 2hours and want biscuits! So far am resisting as I know I shouldn't eat until 11am. I'm planning a big breakfast then dinner about 6ish.

MutteringDarkly · 13/06/2020 09:36

Lumbered onto the scales yesterday after weeks of my clothes and mirrors telling me to Sad
I lost just over 5 stone a couple of years ago, more or less maintained that until this year - 2 stone back on. Agh. So counting today as day 2 because yesterday was a better than usual food day.

It already feels like it's going to be a long day Confused

PuckleP · 13/06/2020 09:56

And now he's got up and is working his, way through the biscuit tin Halo

Crystal87 · 13/06/2020 12:50

I've weighed in this morning. I'm down to 15 stone 3. I've lost 11 pounds in the last 2 weeks which I'm extremely happy with. Just need to keep motivated now to keep going.

PuckleP · 15/06/2020 10:43

Halo still there. No biscuits for 3 days. Just made a cake, it's nearly 11am so I'll be able to have some. So far 16:8 is, going OK, my 8hr eating slot is 11-7 which I seem to be managing. Hope everyone is OK and remember we can do this. 😊

jamiejimmy · 15/06/2020 12:14

I've just finished my first week of 16:8 and have lost 4.5 pounds. So into the 14 stone something bracket which mentally feels great however I always lose a lot the first week of any diet. What I've liked about this though is that whilst I have definitely eaten less I haven't felt deprived and I have had some lovely dinners that I would have avoided on other diets.

Ifartglitterybaubles · 15/06/2020 12:22

Can I join? I'm 5ft 2 and 18 stone. Put on a stone during lockdown. Started 16:8 and have downloaded MFP.

PuckleP · 15/06/2020 12:34

@Ifartglitterybaubles. Welcome to our merry band 😊

RoomShareHell · 15/06/2020 12:34

That’s fantastic jaimiejimmy It’s a real boost to drop down into the next stone bracket. I’ve done 16:8 combined with WW since January although can’t do without several cups of tea from around 8am. This is not hampering losses which tend to be around 1 to 1 1/2 lbs a week with occasional considerably bigger losses. If I can continue losing the equivalent of 1/2 stone each month until the end of the year I’ll be at goal. It’s just a case of keeping going!

jamiejimmy · 15/06/2020 13:24

roomsharehell that's great, I'm sure we can both do it !

MadamXXX · 15/06/2020 18:53

It’s great to read some positive stories.

I’ve started today but, this time, I’m going to try to do it slowly. So I’m cutting out the rubbish - alcohol, chocolate, cakes etc - and am upping my water intake and exercise.

I’ve also decided that I’m not going to sit in front of the TV to eat my dinner. I’ve always hated it with a passion, but DH likes to do it. I find it stupefies me and means I’m less likely to do anything worth while after dinner (other than work at my computer!).

I’ve got out of the habit of wearing my Fitbit, so I need to start wearing that again. Oh, and I’m going to try to weigh myself just once a week. That one will be very hard.

MarleyBarley18 · 15/06/2020 19:31

Omg yes 15 stone too and 5”7 was 8-10 stone before babies 😫😵🙈 and lockdown lol xx
