To find it disturbing that Peppa Pig visits a zoo?

Who decides who gets put there? Are they criminals? Is it just a prison? What have the animals done to be put there? Do they shout for help and band their cups on the bars as the free animals walk by.

Do they get let out if they behave? Or finish their sentence? Do they only imprison 4 of each animal at a time?

Is lockdown driving me to ask questions no adult should care about??

Not to mention the fact that the doctor is a brown bear and the vet is a hamster - and they are both a similar size.
Grin You've given me a much needed laugh

IWouldBeSuperb · 10/06/2020 11:20

But in the Christmas episode of Peppa, Father Christmas is a human!

So where are all the other humans? Enslaved somewhere presumably Confused

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/06/2020 12:11

No wonder unemployment is through the bloody roof. That bloody Miss Rabbit has taken all the jobs. Grin

MissRabbitIsExhausted · 10/06/2020 14:00

*I always assumed that Miss Rabbits many jobs were to pay off her massive gambling debts.

She's also developed an amphetamine addiction trying to keep up with all her jobs.*

😂 yep sounds about right 😂

amijustparanoidorjuststoned · 10/06/2020 14:02

It's not real, I wouldn't worry about it too much!

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 10/06/2020 14:03

Probably got a habit too - who knows what she's lacing her carrots with?

Iggypoppie · 10/06/2020 14:12

Another thing to spoil any theory is that Mrs Crocodile, a reptile, not mammal, can speak! She's rather fabulously portrayed by Jo Brand

user1471592953 · 10/06/2020 14:59

The other good one is Wendy Wolf’s birthday with the discussion between Mr Wolf and Daddy Pig about house types.

MockersGuidedByTheScience · 10/06/2020 15:01

You won't like the coming episode when Peppa and Family visit a Tyson meat packing plant and catch Covid.

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 10/06/2020 15:07

I've just had to have a look on YouTube. They are being taken to the zoo by a GAZELLE and amongst the classmates there is a giraffe and a creature that i think is a zebra. The zoo is right there on that bus!

mumwon · 10/06/2020 15:17

I am a little intrigued by the meercats on compare the meercat.com - the baby meercat left on the doorstep - who was the mother? was Alexander the father & he had abandoned her? & why did they take the baby to Africa & leave him - & why didn't they go back & help???

MockersGuidedByTheScience · 10/06/2020 15:21

Yes step away from Cbeebies

I hear the new DG is thinking of closing down BBC Four and replacing it with a porn channel

Cboobies

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 10/06/2020 15:28

Arthur is a bit of a mind fuck in this respect too. I mean Arthur and buster wear respective animals slippers

nevermorelenore · 10/06/2020 15:59

@JesusInTheCabbageVan

There's a Bojack Horseman episode about factory farming which sort of addresses these issues (in an extremely disturbing way).

Also an episode where the cow waitress looks daggers at someone who orders steak.

I thought of that episode too but didn't reference it because I wondered whether any mumsnetters would watch Bojack! But yeah, that's the easiest explanation, that they have smart animals and food animals.

Also, if you watch the background in Bojack there are lots of little details like a war statue where a horse is riding a man.

ShinyFootball · 10/06/2020 16:00

Good point op!
@Standupthisisnotateaparty

Already mentioned previous page.

He’s a bit of a whiny bellend, is Bing. Not as bad as Pando who is the shit from hell - completely enabled by his fluffy thing. The “swing” episode gives me the rage. He has had his 10 seconds why isn’t she getting him off!
Oh don't even get me started on Pando that little shit. He's the sort of insufferable brat that your kid would decide he's best friends with, so you have to have him round for a playdate and he'd insult your house for being small and go on about how his toys are better and his mum lets him have pizza for dinner every night etc etc. I bet poor Flop has to grit his teeth everytime Bing asks if Pando can come to play.

BobbyBlueHat · 10/06/2020 16:05

Are there any inter species relationships in Peppa? Or do they stick to their own Confused

KitMarlowesCodpieceOfThigh · 10/06/2020 16:06

I think they're quite segregated. How would they name the children, for a start?

KitMarlowesCodpieceOfThigh · 10/06/2020 16:07

PissedOffProf

Is it an allegory? A legacy of Animal Farm, I assume. Pedro Pony'd better watch out...

BobbyBlueHat · 10/06/2020 16:07

My youngest is 10.

We don't even watch Cbeebies anymore

It's all Morgz and Mr Beast.

I'm almost wistful of those days

I liked it when the cat family were hovering around the Aquarium Grin

BobbyBlueHat · 10/06/2020 16:08

Hyphens?

Little Peter Pig-Goat?

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 10/06/2020 16:09

Well we're animals and we keep other animals as pets. I think people forget that humans are actually just another animal. Intelligent and advanced, sure but still just animals.

Lynda07 · 10/06/2020 16:14

Disturbing but not surprising when you think of the pigs in Animal Farm.

YeahWhatevver · 10/06/2020 16:25

I'm pretty sure I've seen them eating sausages and burgers on peppa pig.

Never thought about it before now but WTF! 🤔
