Doesn't it bug you that some people on here are just downright rude
they act like they own the place!!!!
really annoys me, try not to let it, but it does!

OP posts:
NappiesGalore · 22/09/2007 19:27

ah but justified rudeness doesnt count. not in my rulebook anyway.

calling a twat a twat is just plain truthtelling,

DANCESwithHughJackman · 22/09/2007 19:28

[[http://www.thecinemasource.com/moviesdb/images/Hugh_Jackman%20-%201%20-%20X_Men_3.jpg yum, yum and again YUM

lulumama · 22/09/2007 19:28

i just don;t do rude

i thought i had offended someone t'other day so I catted them to apologise....

being heated , disagreeing, good , strong debate is not the same as being rude.

DANCESwithHughJackman · 22/09/2007 19:28

DAMMIT... STILL YUM

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 22/09/2007 19:29

Oh the shame.....

tori32 · 22/09/2007 19:29

Yes don't you just hate it when the op never responds to their own thread!! -except with a rude f**ck off-!
I can come across as rude but thats because it takes me sooo long to type I have to cut half the words out and end up sounding rude.

Desiderata · 22/09/2007 19:29

Ah, but in your weaker moments you see the non-swearing as a sign of weakness, no?

I see it as a sign of strength.

StrawberryMartini · 22/09/2007 19:30

Hey that bucket only had confetti in!

theStallionOfSensibleness · 22/09/2007 19:30

i am rude
and i like it

littleboo · 22/09/2007 19:32

thing is wasn't about actually an argument on a thread , was actually someone being officious and telling me my thread belonged elsewhere, still obviously done you all a good service of having a rant.

OP posts:
lulumama · 22/09/2007 19:35

so you posted your thread in the wrong topic and someone pointed it out, and you therefore had to start a thread about it

life is Too Short

honestly, forget about it, there are loads of active convos going on, find one, leap in and and enjoy

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 22/09/2007 19:36

You need a capital T at the start of a sentence.

Desiderata · 22/09/2007 19:36

.. life is terribly deficient in form. Its catastrophes happen in the wrong way and to the wrong people. There is a grotesque horror about its comedies, and its tragedies seem to culminate in farce. One is always wounded when one approaches it. Things last either too long or not long enough.

Oscar managed to size up the human race without resorting to swearing. Even Shakespeare couldn't do that (but he lived in bawdier times).

I wish I could write like that, .. but I'm drawn to the swear word. I enjoy the occasional excitement of being very, fucking, rude. I am a human being, and so help me God for that

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 22/09/2007 19:38

Ahhhhhhhhhh Oscar my Oscar.

littleboo · 22/09/2007 19:38

Bree - shame you can't spell either!

OP posts:
tori32 · 22/09/2007 19:39

FFS if I had a pound for everytime I've been dressed down, ignored, ranted at blah blah blah I'd be a millionaire by now!!!

RustyBear · 22/09/2007 19:39

Well, if you'd said that in your OP, people would basically have said what lulu just did & that would be it.
Unless you actually wanted to start a controversial thread...

tori32 · 22/09/2007 19:39
Threadworm · 22/09/2007 19:40

Twould be good if Oscar were around to post on mumsnet

pointydog · 22/09/2007 19:40

Don't be pissed off, littleboo. Be rude back. Or go for a manners overload to shame them. MAke it interesting.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 22/09/2007 19:41

LittleBoo

Shame you had to have it pointed out to you by the more literate MNers on here.

jojosmaman · 22/09/2007 19:41

It makes me laugh. I hate the forums where people are nicey nicey or tip toe around what they really want to say. Having said that, I don't like it when threads turn into in joke/ cliquey chats, it gets boring.

Take it with a pinch of salt, its not real life.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 22/09/2007 19:42

Desi

Do you e-mail LittleLapin ??

If so get my e-mail addy from her. My love for Oscar will be revealed.

pampam · 22/09/2007 19:47

I'm another babycentre refugee. I like the honesty, swearing and straight talking on mumsnet much more. I tend to avoid posting on the threads where it's all kicking off though, i'm a bit of a wimp.

Desiderata · 22/09/2007 19:47

I do, Bree

Or more to the point, the wonderful wabbit emailed me recently when I admitted my woeful problem with the drink. She's a damned fine woman.

Have you also read Saki (Hector Hugh Monroe?) That turn of the century wit/sarcasm is so refined it's almost painful!
