I got flour and icing sugar from Morrisons last Tues.

...and vanilla extract. Got icing sugar now but still can't make vanilla Victoria sponge.

Tell me about it!! So frustrating trying to find icing sugar anywhere around here

@mamaduckbone I've been using golden syrup in place of vanilla extract. It seems to work well

I don’t understand why it’s in short supply. Are people still bloody stock piling? And if they are, are they the size of a house?! 😂

My local Tesco started getting it in last week , they haven't had any at all since lockdown began , it's slowly trickling through it seems

You can make icing sugar by blending ordinary sugar. Can't help with the rest though.

I haven’t managed to find icing sugar for weeks in Aldi or Sainsburys.
My lovely mum did mange to get hold of some for me yesterday in Waitrose though.
Though to be fair it would probably be better if she didn’t. I go back to work next week and had to order new trousers because my work ones don’t fit anymore!
Yeast is still impossible to get hold of here though.

Try little corner shops! I am the same and had a couple of birthday cakes in particular to make. Had used my usual full baking pantry and had no luck at any supermarkets! In the end tried a little nisa shop and they had the big bags! My sister said the same about her local little store. A premier i think had it.

How is golden syrup the same as vanilla extract ?

I saw icing sugar in my local Asda the other day - only 2 boxes left so I took one. My local morrisons had flour today but very little caster sugar/other sugar apart from granulated

My Sainsbury's had icing sugar yesterday.

Also jam sugar and glace cherries. Can't get hold of them around here

Small shops like Nisa, Premier, One Stop etc have had great supplies throughout, I've got yeast, icing sugar, caster sugar and flour from village shops. Worth a try?

Try Poundland for flour and icing sugar, they had plenty of both last week.

Tell me about it! I luckily have flour, but I'm out of icing sugar now. I had just enough to do some middle and top icing on my birthday cake yesterday, and now no more 😭😭😭

Not sure the problem with icing sugar but if may well be the same as the problems with flour, short supply of the packaging rather than the product itself, as most packing is large catering sizes.
I've been getting icing sugar in Sainsburys when I see it because I love they own make plus I got Whitworths last week in the Great Food Warehouse.

I finally managed to get icing sugar from Ocado this week! Still no white bread flour available though.

Corner shop. I got icing sugar and (wait for it....) 3kg of bread flour in mine!

I can only buy baking things from the farm shop, they're splitting catering packs, it's perfect, comes in the plastic takeaway tubs and you take them back to be refilled.

My local M&S said they are getting plenty of flour now, not sure about icing sugar (they were rationing that last time I bought it).

DH said the local garage had flour too. No idea about icing sugar though!

It’s chocolate chips I can’t find round here. DD really wants to make cookies and it just isn’t the same...

Can get icing sugar but not caster. So I bought granulated and I’ll give it a good whizz in the food processor.
