If pup didn't leave mum until 8 weeks old, they've only had him for 5 weeks.

How can someone possibly get a puppy without thinking past lockdown or what might happen when they go back to work?

People are pigs.

Thank god they are doing it now while he is small enough to find a new home and to adjust. What selfish people

Sparklesocks · 03/06/2020 19:26

Oh poor thing. Essentially a hobby for lockdown and now he’s served his purpose so off he goes. Really feel for staff at shelters who have to pick up the pieces.

Ces6 · 03/06/2020 19:46

Poor thing! Some people just have no sense of responsibility but probably, judging from their writing skills, they are not that bright so maybe there are other issues here?

Lockeduporknockedup · 03/06/2020 19:47

This is shocking.
We bought a puppy during lockdown because:

  1. We were advised by our vet that our current dog needed a companion.
  2. My husband was told that he would be off until September, and I'm working from home until at least the middle of September too.
It worked well for us because we're both home to train and give attention to the puppy, make sure she's settled and is happy etc. If we'd both been working out of the house then it wouldn't have been possible to get a puppy and our current dog would have continued to be lonely. However, we know our puppy will be fine to be in the house alone (well, with the other dog but you know what I mean) by the time we're back at work. Also, the vets are absolutely open for immunisations so they're just dangerous scum for not vaccinating. Clearly that means the puppy hasn't been insured, checked or have a pet plan either?! No mention of a microchip... This puppy isn't been treated properly whether it's lockdown or not.
SurfnTerfFantasticmissfoxy · 03/06/2020 19:48

You can tell by reading the post they're clearly a fucking moron.

Sonichu · 03/06/2020 19:54

If that's a fox terrier then I'm the Pope.

pickledlillies · 03/06/2020 19:56

You'd hope the 'owner' would have the brains to realise why he follows her everywhere. Gormless idiot that they are.

We took on a pair of pups a couple of months before the lockdown as a temporary foster carer as they were orphaned at 2 weeks old. Then lockdown happened and we were home with them all day and they inevitably bonded with us and with each other as we were WFH.
Now we are keeping them and will deal with what happens when we both have to stop WFH. It's not ideal (for us) but it's right for them.

tiredanddangerous · 03/06/2020 19:57

In other words they’ve discovered a puppy is bloody hard work and just can’t be bothered. Twats.

gypsywater · 03/06/2020 19:57

They write like a 6 y/o

Pelleas · 03/06/2020 20:01

"he follows me everywhere" Sad

IncrediblySadToo · 03/06/2020 20:02

Poor little thing.

Sadly he's going to be one of hundreds, So many people are thick scum

GreyHare · 03/06/2020 20:08

It will just be the first of many, there will be an absolute flood of puppies being sold on in the next few months as people return to work and their poor pup has terrible separation anxiety and either destroys the house or toilets all over it and it's no longer cute and cuddly but a wilful land shark chewing on everything including fingers feet and faces.

GrumpyGran8 · 03/06/2020 20:08

All the spelling mistakes and the fact the pup is sitting all alone with no toys or family home sort of background also feels suspicious to me.
I agree. It looks like the cheap modular seating you get in reception rooms and waiting areas. The poor pup's not been photographed in a house, that's for sure.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 03/06/2020 20:10

This was on our fb group for foxies. For one it’s not a fox terrier. Most seemed to think it was a fake advert. Fox terrier pups are about 1000 pounds, so selling one for 250 seems crazy. Possibly the last of a litter of cross breeds they couldn’t shift. Vets have been vaccinating. Very fishy.

Samtsirch · 03/06/2020 20:10

I have also heard that puppy farms are using this sort of advertising technique at the moment though, to sell a whole litter of pups, one after the other.😔

VenusTiger · 03/06/2020 20:11

I'll NEVER understand it EVER - my cats are my world, part of our family, we have strong bonds with them - it makes NO sense to me why people treat animals like this!

TimeWastingButFun · 03/06/2020 20:13

Maybe the puppy has not been at a home at all, perhaps it's a puppy farm decoy?

MrsEricBana · 03/06/2020 20:17

Poor lamb. I hope he has a happy life with someone far more deserving of him.

TimeWastingButFun · 03/06/2020 20:18

Also, it really does not look like Fox Terrier

Pelleas · 03/06/2020 20:19

Very fishy.

Yes - it's just struck me that, in an advert littered with misspellings of short, commonplace words, the relatively difficult words 'immunisations' and 'veterinarian' are correctly spelt. One possibility is that the poster looked them up - but if you were the sort of person who found spelling difficult, wouldn't you use 'vet' not 'veterinarian'?

Note - I am not sneering at the spelling - , just struck by the suspicious incongruities.

coldwarenigma · 03/06/2020 20:21

Poor little pup regardless of rehoming or puppy farm..

Some people are as thick as mince.
Unfortunately I do know people who have had numerous puppies, once they become a wilful juvenile they are 'untrainable' and given away. Twats. Their little girl doesn't understand why we still have ours and not replaced it yet. Angry I struggle to be civil to them.

NoseyfriendNC · 03/06/2020 20:24

If this is a real advert it makes me so angry.

I agree with a PP that the only plus side to this is that it's young enough to find a good home still - usually they keep it through the cute stage, give it no training and it ends up in a dogs home struggling to be re-homed.

unlikelytobe · 03/06/2020 20:26

I can picture the sort of person who wrote that ad and I want to punch them in the face ! They need educating in every way.

Pelleas · 03/06/2020 20:27

The more I think about it, the more scammy that advert looks.

Fuckityfucksake · 03/06/2020 20:29

Absolute bastards!
