"Married partner" - a bit uncomfortable?

Is it just me who finds it a bit 🤔 that Rosie Duffield is being reported as having broken lockdown to go for a walk with her "married partner"? I mean, if he's finishing your walk and going home to his wife and kids, who don't know anything about his partnership with you, he's not really your "partner", is he? That seems to lend it a legitimacy it doesn't really possess?

Also a bit surprised at her statement about how sad it is when a relationship ends. Well, yes, I suspect it was extremely sad for his wife to find out that he was leaving because he has been having an affair behind her back. With you.

Perhaps going into week 11 of lockdown is just making me a grumpy old cow.

And yes I think married partner is incredibly disrespectful to his poor wife - who supposedly had no idea. Married lover is about all it was at until they got caught imo.

Do we know for certain his wife didn't know? I know MN struggles with the idea of anything other than a traditional relationship but perhaps all parties were in agreement and happy with the arrangement.

Thank you for the sympathy. I am now settled with a very nice Bosch.

@helpfulperson his wife’s friends have given quotes to the Mail saying that she is heartbroken / had no idea / thought he was happy. Poor woman. And all the bloody tweets between the two of them since the election campaign- hiding in plain sight.

For a woman to have an affair with a married man is a disgusting and betraying thing to do.

I have met married men who have left their wives for a man but that is a separate point that I find it difficult to think through and resolve in my mind.

I will never understand the MN logic. OW consistently get vilified on here but there seems to be quite a bit of support for Rosie Duffield.

It would actually be understandable if the site was used by tens of thousands of different people with different views but since there are only 3 of us who just keep swapping usernames I agree that it's odd.
