What is your school planning to do with the Rec, Y1 & Y6 at lunchtime

My school isn't reopening on monday. We have been delayed until 8th. We have been open throughout lockdown for keyworkers children. Roughly about 30 children and 20 cooked meals eaten in dinner hall. As far as I know the reception and year 1 children will be eating cooked dinners in the hall on a bubble rota. I will be supervising 3 bubble groups from reception eat their lunch and then continue supervision outside for the remainder of the lunchtime. Then year 1 will eat after we have left the dinner hall. Year 6 will eat lunch at desks in classroom. I don't know exactly how it will happen as I need to attend a meeting before I start work.
I have been working with keyworkers children and we haven't really been enforcing social distancing up to now. So I have no idea how this will work

What is your school doing. Thanks

Packed lunches eaten at desks in classroom as the hall is too small for distancing between bubbles.

spanieleyes · 30/05/2020 12:47

all children are having packed lunches, either provided by school or from home.all children will eat in their classroom, supervised by either an MSA or a TA/teacher. The staff only work with one bubble. the same members of staff will also supervise outdoor play, one bubble at a time in different areas of the grounds ( we have large grounds with different playareas and grassed areas)

Letseatgrandma · 30/05/2020 12:50

Packed lunches at desks in bubbles.

How many children in total will you be mixing with at lunchtime-that doesn’t sound right?

Fredthefrog · 30/05/2020 12:53

Mornings only is how a school I know is managing

Lifesbetterwithwine · 30/05/2020 12:54

Our children will also be eating packed lunches (either from home or provided by school) in the classroom supervised by LTS. Desks in the classroom will be cleaned down and covered before lunch and cleaned down again after lunch. Lunchtimes will be staggered and each group of children will have their own area of the playground.

SoupDragon · 30/05/2020 12:54

Mine aren't in those years so I haven't been paying attention but I think it will be packed lunches from home eaten outside. They plan on being outside for as much as possible during the day.

paul2louise · 30/05/2020 12:57

I think I have 3 bubbles so probably about 45 ish children

Packed lunches to be eaten outside if the weather is ok otherwise at their desks. Once we move to hot dinners again the lunch hall will be used by each bubble on a rota with tables and chairs being disinfected between use

Confrontayshunme · 30/05/2020 12:57

Packed lunches provided or brought from home at desks. Our school is going to play YouTube videos of stories and Newsround, which I think is a nice touch since they can't chat around their normal tables.

mogtheexcellent · 30/05/2020 13:03

Lunches only for free meals and keyworker children only. The school is only doing half days so no lunch will be needed.

JockTamsonsBairns · 30/05/2020 13:07

I'm a school cook, and I'm not back at work until September, as the children have been asked to bring a packed lunch from home.

Aragog · 30/05/2020 13:07

Our school have had to change how things will work once we widen the opening. Following the Lea instructions we now can't open until the 15th.

Ours are remaining in their bubbles at all times. They can have a school packed lunch or bring in their own. Each bubble has a classroom and an outdoor space just for them. They will eat in one of those.

paul2louise · 30/05/2020 13:08

Free meals is all reception and year 1 children plus a few year 6 and key worker children. My friend who is school cook is doing around 100 dinners

packed lunch - either eaten outside or at their desks

ImFree2doasiwant · 30/05/2020 13:09

School providing packed lunches for all, to be eaten in their bubble/classroom.

scrivette · 30/05/2020 13:09

Only packed lunches allowed, free for KS1 children. They will be eaten outside in their bubble of 15 students and 2 adults.

AriadnesFilament · 30/05/2020 13:12

Lunches in bags to be eaten in their bubbles in their classrooms at desks.

SandieCheeks · 30/05/2020 13:14

Packed lunch eaten with their TA/teacher either outside or in their classroom if it's raining. Then playing in their designated outside area.

DoItDoItDoIt · 30/05/2020 13:15

Packed lunches only. Outdoor weather permitting.

Batmanandbobbin · 30/05/2020 13:16

My ds school are in the same bubble at all times (his class was only ever very small and within limit anyway). They have different play time/lunch times but lunch is to be eaten at their designated desk, if the child is on free school meals they will get a choice of three sandwiches in the morning and their own pack up will be given to them to have at their desk. We had go sign a virtual agreement to say we’d wash everything thoroughly at night.

Also going in own clothes that would also be appropriate for PE so they cannot get changed

stayingaliveisawayoflife · 30/05/2020 13:19

Packed lunches in classrooms then half an hour outside with no equipment.

user1494055864 · 30/05/2020 13:20

No hot dinners.

MSA'S will have a bubble of 9 or 10 children each. Eat in classroom or outside.

45 on your own sounds way too much!!

lyralalala · 30/05/2020 13:23

You shouldn’t be mixing with 3 bubbles. That complete defeats the point of bubbles

Its packed lunches only at DD and DS’s school for the kids going back. It’s been packed lunches for the keyworker kids this whole time as well

WhatwouldRuthdo · 30/05/2020 13:27

Cooked lunches delivered to the classroom here. Was expecting packed lunches.

A82971151 · 30/05/2020 13:29

I think in our local school the children are going to eat their lunch in their bubbles in their designated classrooms/areas as they won’t be leaving their ‘zone s’. I assume rather than cooked lunches the school will be making packed type lunches rather than cooked to make this easier!
