I used to have about eighty million pounds of hair but have never been able to stand the feeling of loose hair on neck/back/shoulders. I spent my life arranging it in halo plaits, coiled buns, french pleats, ballet buns, chignons, french braids etc.

Now it's all gone (and please don't take the thread personally Flibberty although I know hair loss is really upsetting) and I have it shaved to the bone with a Mohican.

So definitely up for me Grin It's taken me time to be able to feel like this and I do miss having hair on top of my head to poke pens into when I'm on the phone but on days like this I don't miss the weight and the heat of it.

Do people who wear it down not get too hot and tickly? I suppose if you had fine hair it doesn't feel like that?

If you mean hair Grin then I don’t think most people suit it up. Some will some won’t...

Ooooh swishy Envy (thats me envying, not vomiting) I hope if my hair grows back it would be swishy and I could flick my hair about without dislocating my neck.

I would also like it to be glossy. Swishy and glossy.

@unicorn

well done to all your little ones!
I need some advice.. ds (2.6) has been really good around the house with potty/toilet etc, but tomorrow we're heading into town...
should I..
1)put his big boy pants on + hope for best?(what happens if we're on train and he needs a wee etc?)

2)stick him back in a nappy (which he only has now for naps/sleep)

personally I would rather try him with pants so as not to confuse him etc, but dh wants to take the easier option (of course!)

Wonderful!

Eh?!!! Confused
What the chuff has happened here. I wanted to quote @corlan's post about her knickers being half up.

The post that appeared isn't even in this thread!?! Confused

Is the quoting function drunk? Gin Grin

I don't agree that MOST people look better with hair up. Some do, some don't.
I have ugly ears and I also look very prim and buttoned up with hair up.
On the other hand, I suspect I looked OK with hair up when I was younger, but now with drooping and sagging it's changed.

I agree with Gwenhwyfar, when i was younger i used to look great with my hair up, now my face is less 'perky' it doesn't look so good. But the greys that I have coming through at my roots now mean 'hair up' is becoming more preferable.

Down all the way. Only naturally pretty people with great jaw lines look better with it up.

I've got a pixie cut so 'up' not really an option!

Up for me.

My hair is fine, frizzy and flyway and looks dreadful down.

I think hair up normally makes people look better as it defines their jaw more.

(I prefer my hair up)

What about people with hair loss, great to know OP thinks they could look 'better'.

Oops you didn't include bald people, you should be cancelled

I think I look more interesting with my hair down and younger with my hair up - this is based on all the video calls and time wasted spent looking at my own appearance of course. I don't have actual statistical data.

I have to have it down. I have one ear that sticks out quite considerably and when my hair is up it’s very obvious, when down you can’t tell. My face also looks moon-like with my hair up, whereas when it’s down it compliments my jaw and cheekbones nicely. I’d even say I look quite pretty with it down, once up I look like a swamp creature and won’t be seen dead in a ponytail.

surely doesn't apply to shorter haitstyles (even if jus above hte shoulders) - so it's down for me. When I had longer hair, updo's suited me but such faff to do it properly and not too messy!
I like how with a shorter hair /bob the edge looks shaped and fuller.

I think most mature women don't haev long hair noawadays - and I don't think most look better with hair up, for one you need a nice neck and a neat jawline.
And veryyoung women look goo with hair down as the hair is so much heathier / fuller at that age.
