You've got really low standards if you think Boris is doing well/okay

Day by Day it just gets worse. Bodies piling up, lies being denied or covered up, blatant and shameless cronyism and corruption yet Bojo fangirls and fanboys keep lapping it up. What does he have to do to blow it huh? How can your standards be so flipping low?

I'm afraid T&T is yet another example of his incompetence. With the choice of a tried and tested app or one developed by Cummings' mates he's gone for the option that makes a fortune for Cummings' mates. How much do each of us trust them to keep our data safe?

JudyCoolibar · 28/05/2020 08:58

What scares me is: if he has made this much of a mess of Covid, what sort of mess is he going to make of restoring the economy, especially when you combine that with the whole Brexit fuck-up?

YouTheCat · 28/05/2020 08:59

I think my cat could do better. And she's an idle sod.

MsTSwift · 28/05/2020 09:00

Starmer is a QC he will annihilate Boris in due course

Kittenlicker · 28/05/2020 09:02

@NaturalBornWoman I wasn’t actually referring to TT app, most countries where they have heavily tested their populace have a better record of dealing with the virus. We needed to test our NHS and front line workers, care homes etc much more extensively, that never really happened. This would allow those groups to be isolated more effectively. The government has fallen short of their targets.

ssd · 28/05/2020 09:06

I think Starmer is bidding his time. He's in no rush. He's letting the government dig themselves even deeper into that hole.

Namenic · 28/05/2020 09:06

Btw - in Singapore and Hong Kong people are not forced to do the track and trace.

Random checks and fines are going to have some effect - just as lockdown has had some effect. Just because you cannot get 100% compliance, doesn’t mean you cannot get a beneficial effect.

StoneofDestiny · 28/05/2020 09:17

Who exactly would do better? Corbyn?

Every other country in the world it seems!

KenDodd · 28/05/2020 09:19

Actually I think Corbyn would have done a better job. Party because it would take real skill to do worse than Johnson.

Can you imagine if Corbyn had introduced the furlough scheme though and the howls from the right wing press and Tories. No way would it be welcomed the way it has if Labour had done it.

YouTheCat · 28/05/2020 09:19

I don't know why people keep going on about Corbyn. He isn't the PM.

Spillinteas · 28/05/2020 09:20

I agree. I do not think JC would have done any better. I left the party because of him and his cronies. I think SK is just holding back and when it’s all over will pick the pieces up. And then I’ll go back to the Labour Party. In a way I think he will win by default - just like the cons did because JC was so bad.

Moonmelodies · 28/05/2020 09:21

Corbyn may not be PM, but he might be why Boris is.

BlackberryCane · 28/05/2020 09:22

I know exactly why people keep going on about Corbyn. Because they want to defend the government's record, but realise they can't, and they obviously can't stick the boot into the new Leader of the Opposition either. So, Corbyn. It's desperation.

Pleasenodont · 28/05/2020 09:22

I mean, this is the man who referred to black people as ‘flag waving piccaninnies’. Not really sure why anyone likes someone as bigoted and ignorant as him unless they themselves are also bigoted and ignorant.

Hingeandbracket · 28/05/2020 09:22

I agree; and I can't stand fucking cats.

Kittenlicker · 28/05/2020 09:23

Jesus! It doesn’t matter about Corbyn! The fact is we have Boris Johnson...who is inept and a twat.

MsTSwift · 28/05/2020 09:38

And a liar utterly without morals who cares only about himself. Look at his personal life. Car crash.

LaurieMarlow · 28/05/2020 09:39

Must admit I agree with this.

Spillinteas · 28/05/2020 09:40

People bring it up because the alternative would have been worse. I’ve no doubt of that. In fact I can imagine JC hiding somewhere.

Boris was the pick of a superbly bad bunch which speaks volumes about the state of all parties

And it’s unhelpful for labour supporters to be constantly starting these threads when they could have demanded JC left and give us some one who was worthy. Tbh Labour have just turned in to a bunch of finger pointers when really they need to look at why this government is actually in. There is blame where ever you look.

The only reason I am glad that this party is in now is because they know the economy needs to start moving. We need money moving again. Labour probably would have kept us locked down till next year to appease the masses.

Strugglingtodomybest · 28/05/2020 09:40

My parents, who are in their 70s and life long Tory voters, are now vociferous in their condemnation of BJ, Cummings and the rest. It's actually freaking me out a bit to hear them as I'm so used to holding the opposite view and arguing with them!

Spillinteas · 28/05/2020 09:43

Corbyn may not be PM, but he might be why Boris is

This with bells on

thegreenlight · 28/05/2020 09:44

I love the way pics of him with his head in his hands are being posted on social media to prove how great he is Hmm ‘weight if the world’ and all that as if he really cares about this country. Bollocks, he’s just a mouthy twat who had his ‘Churchill’ moment and blew it.

BlackberryCane · 28/05/2020 09:48

Your certainty is misplaced given the utter lack of data. The one thing we do know is that Corbyn hasn't merrily told the nation he was still shaking hands with diagnosed covid patients. I think the man's a twat, and didn't vote Labour at the GE, but that doesn't mean the claims that he'd definitely have been worse aren't bollocks. None of us know, which is also true of those saying he'd have done better, and in any case he's now irrelevant.

ssd · 28/05/2020 09:58

Why do people write such nonsense? What's wrong with people? No one has a clue what Labour would have done, so why post tripe like this?

Are we all claiming to be fortune tellers now?

HesterShaw1 · 28/05/2020 10:04

Boris is going an awful job, but bodies are not 'piling up'
