To be tired of people filming themselves crying?

For social media likes?

First we had the nurse at the start of lockdown who couldn’t get any apples.

Now we have a care worker filming someone in a store for berating her for wearing her uniform shopping and then filming herself crying in her car!

Give over!

Oh and before people think I’m just bashing Health Workers, the crying mummies because they’re stuck with their kids home all day are annoying as fuck too!

Oh yes I have a couple of friends like this. Posting on Instagram about how they’ve had a long cry today etc. Surely they then just end up with a million “you okay hun?” messages.
If you’re struggling message your friends rather than post for all the world to see!

Shouldn't be wearing uniforms outside, covid or no covid. It's ridiculous. Anyone who films themselves crying and posts it online is an attention seeking dick.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 26/05/2020 11:47

Yanbu. Why on earth would you do this? You just look like an attention hungry tit.

OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow · 26/05/2020 11:49

I would raise eye brow at someone in their uniform medical or a carer in a shops. They will be bringing loads of germs back into their workShock

And yes. It is very attention seeking even though that other woman behaved badly.

stopcock · 26/05/2020 11:50

One of my relatives posted several photographs of her young child crying because she was finding Lockdown hard. I couldn't believe the lack of respect for the child's privacy!

user127819 · 26/05/2020 11:51

It doesn't justify berating someone in public, but I don't think NHS staff should be wearing uniforms outside their places of work anyway. It used to be seen as unsanitary - until hospitals got rid of their in house laundries and now suddenly it's perfectly sanitary. And in these current circumstances I would give someone in a hospital uniform a wide berth in a supermarket.

KingOfDogShite · 26/05/2020 11:52

People like this need to be ignored.

pumpkinbump · 26/05/2020 11:52

I find it very annoying to. I've no doubt some of these people have felt they're at breaking point but I don't think there is any nerd to film and post it.

pumpkinbump · 26/05/2020 11:52

Need*

KingOfDogShite · 26/05/2020 11:53

And yes - nurses or carers shouldn’t be outside in their uniform. It is unhygienic.

rooarsome · 26/05/2020 11:54

People crying for attention winds me up HOWEVER, for those saying uniforms should not be worn outside... I'm a district nurse and have no choice but to wear my blinking uniform! I cover the tunic with my fleece when going into a shop but use a bit of common sense. We are visiting vulnerable and often dying people in their own homes, not every healthcare professional works in a hospital

AtaMarie · 26/05/2020 11:54

I watched a woman crying on Instagram today in a 22 minute apology video.

I ended up deleting Instagram in a fit of annoyance. What have we become?!

VettiyaIruken · 26/05/2020 11:56

Attention seeking mardarses, AtaMarie.

ClientQ · 26/05/2020 11:56

Carers regularly have to go to the shop in their uniform. As a home carer (travelling between different people, sometimes 15 per shift) we might have to go out for milk or a full food shop or cigarettes or.. whatever they asked for

IckyIsAFuckingStupidWord · 26/05/2020 12:03

For those saying that carers shouldn’t be outside wearing their uniforms as it’s unhygienic, how do you expect them to do shopping calls as part of their rounds if they have to wear uniforms for the whole shift?

Toomuchtrouble4me · 26/05/2020 12:16

This, agreed.

Cuddlecouch · 26/05/2020 12:16

I thought carers working in the community were supposed to wear something over their work top such as a light jacket or zip up. I only know this because when a career used to visit my gran she always said she covered up when outto minimise the risk.

It's extremely contagious to walk around without some kind of cover when you've probably been manually handling patients or feeding/ changing/ tending to them. Use your common sense.

IckyIsAFuckingStupidWord · 26/05/2020 13:17

No this is not a requirement

Standupthisisnotateaparty · 26/05/2020 13:24

Agree. For them it’s not about the issue at hand it’s about the social media likes and sympathy.

Midsommar · 26/05/2020 13:26

One thing I never understand is the need to film EVERYTHING. There's an argument in a shop - film it. You're having a bad day and are crying in the car - film it. See a gang of kids beating the shit out of a copper - film it. Put the phone down and bloody DO SOMETHING about it. Irritates me no end.

Stannisbaratheonsboxofmatches · 26/05/2020 13:27

On the same note, I find it annoying when people put in their posts on mn “I’m sat in tears” or “I’m crying my eyes out” or similar, to somehow strengthen the post.

It doesn’t change any of the facts so don’t bother!

Tanith · 26/05/2020 13:29

I first noticed it a few years ago: one of the MLMs got its sellers to film themselves crying in the car for sympathy - or it might have been to demonstrate their waterproof mascara or something.

floppyhare · 26/05/2020 13:30

Nothing surprises me about people any more. After seeing a parent post photos of her child in a hospital bed after a suicide attempt on social media I think some people will do anything for a bit of attention.

Siameasy · 26/05/2020 13:38

Attention seeking. Sick of social media and the navel gazing/moping/competitive sanctimoniousness.
