AIBU?

To be furious BIL is making us look bad to save his skin?

BIL and his wife have a 4yo. They went to stay on his parents estate 5 hours drive away breaking all lockdown rules. Because of his high profile job in government this has become something of an issue.

In order to defend the trip he's telling the papers that they had no choice, they were worried that they would both become so ill they couldn't care for DN and had to go so far to be near suitable childcare.

We live around the corner. Of course, in the unlikely event that BIL and SIL both became so unwell they couldn't care for him, we'd have looked after him.

I don't know if they think we'd we unwilling or we are unsuitable but they didn't even ask.

AIBU to be furious this is the story he's using to justify his actions?

Grin Sorry, I'll get my coat....

Why can’t you just bloody move on and be kind?
Those people all had perfectly legitimate reasons for what they were doing and were filled with honesty and integrity.
They were just testing whether their suntan lotion worked!!!
How dare you criticise their perfectly legitimate honourable actions?

They were giving their children a very Important dose Of vitamin D!

Ps don’t you think many of them were extremely good looking 👀👀

😂😂😂😂😂

I'm sorry that we don't have Spitting Image these days, they would have had a blast with this saga back in the day. The politicians themselves used to laugh at that.

I found the thread very amusing, although if different threads with a similar theme keep coming then it will get tedious.

This story won't go away, Keir Starmar will make sure of that.

On a serious note please may those that are cross about how Cummings has behaved actually email their MP? It’s really the best way to communicate with some weight how you feel - threads on social media ain’t gonna cut it!

For those saying this is unfunny– tedious and unkind just scroll on.

I for one am finding it highly amusing - little else to amuse me as I stay at home, observing lockdown guidance.

This. I've just done so.

I must say I'm loving @Ulver's work on this thread. The number of posters who complain that other people shouldn't have Wrong Opinions are objectively Not Funny or shouldn't start threads they themselves are not interested in is bizarre.

I've reported this post as not in the spirit of the site.

I think it's funny, it's certainly brightening up my day, given that I'm stuck indoors observing lockdown like most responsible people.

Also worrying about my mother who is currently in hospital with Coronavirus, and I might not actually see her again, as again, being a responsible person I'm not visiting her, as those are THE RULES.

Crack on OP. If the moaners don't like it they can scroll on by or fuck off, I don't mind which.

Great to see the humour police on this thread.
Someone needs to suck the fun out of threads, we can't have Mnetters having a chuckle now.

I've emailed my MP. I included screenshot of the goaders asking others to do so on here and reminded him we have Government by election not by Social Media.

OP is being very bitchy and attention seeking but also theres enough nastiness in this world without you joining in 🤦🏽‍♀️ Oh dear.

And all those moaning about the thread and telling us that we shouldn't post any more of them, go and read something else. You may not like the subject or find it interesting/amusing/whatever but you don't get to censor other people. If you don't like it, there are other threads.

Agree, I've contacted Downing Street, my own MP and the Conservative Party.

DarkDarkNight .... thanks that made me laugh....

!I have to go now OP. I’m going to test my hearing by blindfolding myself and stepping out into the middle of a busy road." That's funny....

Your other point is probably part of the reason why people are upset with the OP's BIL
"YANBU - You just love your child a bit more than us mere mortals do." ... his presumption and assertion that he loves his child more and so broke his own guidelines whilst the rest of us idiots didn't love ours enough to ignore him when we felt we should

Thanks for the laughs. To the ones who don't like this just pass on through it's not nasty just a bit of silly fun back at the guy who started the fiasco in the first place with his silly and lame excuses....

now I'm off to check my eyesight and drive around the M25 for a bit
