Us mere Mumsnetters knew over 2 weeks ago that people were signing up for rally tickets as a joke, so you'd think that the mighty Trump 2020 campaign would have somehow picked up on that too? He won't have got the MAGA feelz he was hoping for.
They did overbook. 1 million would have been immense and they may have prepared for about 100 000.
Still, it looks like they didn't quite get the impact if it was more like 10 000. That's only 1%.
But, realistically, did they expect those many people wanting to travel at the risk of staying outside?
The overbooking may well have backfired. People should be rewarded for going, not threatened with having to stand outside.
Or maybe they just wanted the 1 million to stick in people's heads and hope that fans won't notice the empty seats.
