To wear my bikini in the garden

Grumpylockeddownwoman · 25/05/2020 15:58

I’ll start of by saying - it’s probably not a pretty sight! Lockdown overeating means I’m pretty “wobbly”.
But ... it’s just so bloody hot - and it’s the bikini I bought for the holiday I should be on.
Neighbours could probably see me if they happen to look out of back bedrooms.
So - Aibu to be wearing my bikini in the garden

It’s your garden! I’m sure their eyes won’t melt at the sight

Cupcakecafe · 25/05/2020 15:59

Wear it 👙👙

Bluewavescrashing · 25/05/2020 16:00

Do it! But wear suncream. Enjoy!

pilates · 25/05/2020 16:01

I’ve got mine on too, not the bikini bod I used to have but never mind.

Enjoy!

FOJN · 25/05/2020 16:02

It's acceptable wear for a beach where anyone could see so I wouldn't give it a second thought. Enjoy the sun and don't forget the sunscreen.

Nquartz · 25/05/2020 16:04

Yes!!! Just make sure you have plenty of sun cream on

somenerve · 25/05/2020 16:09

Just make sure you have plenty of sun cream on

Vitamin D the natural way is good for you. Just don't stay out too long.

Waveysnail · 25/05/2020 16:10

Yep. I'm wobbling about the house and back garden in uber short t shirt dress.

Grumpylockeddownwoman · 25/05/2020 16:10

It’s my bikini I bought for holiday this year - so am pretending today is my holiday... have dh spraying me with the “mist” setting on the hose to bring some authenticity 😂

RedSheep73 · 25/05/2020 16:10

Do what you like

Grumpylockeddownwoman · 25/05/2020 16:11

@whiplashy their eyes may not melt - but they want to bleach them if they see me Grin

Sparklesocks · 25/05/2020 16:12

Of course you can wear a bikini

Marriedtoapenguin · 25/05/2020 16:12

At the time of my post, 103% of people had voted YANBU. That's pretty much an overwhelming vote in your favour.

Get the bikini out and enjoy the sun.

flowery · 25/05/2020 16:15

Better than not wearing it... WinkGrin

BlueJava · 25/05/2020 16:15

Of course you can wear it! Enjoy :)

TheHighestSardine · 25/05/2020 16:39

@somenerve That's terrible advice.

Bargainhuntbore · 25/05/2020 16:52

Hot?! If got a jumper on as im cold!

But go ahead, your place! My friend will wear her bikini in the greenhouse if its sunny, but too windy to stay outside 😂

mencken · 25/05/2020 16:54

why not? 3 weeks to peak UV though, so unless you want to be bright red with white bra and knicker marks, plenty of suncream and not just once a day.

suggsy · 25/05/2020 16:55

Live is too short! Wear the bikini :)

Ellisandra · 25/05/2020 16:57

That’s really a shame that you can’t just be comfortable in your own garden on a sunny day without thinking about your neighbours and worrying about your body Sad
Own your body, remind yourself that your neighbours have no right to think anything - and if they do, that’s no concern of yours - and get out there.

Sharpandshineyteeth · 25/05/2020 17:04

I get in and out of my hot tub naked and my body is not a delight.

If the neighbours can see then I should imagine they’d look away 😂

EssentialHummus · 25/05/2020 17:06

I’ve been going topless in mine. If it disturbs any passersby they can look the other way.

Nanalisa60 · 25/05/2020 17:12

It’s your garden get in your garden and enjoy the sun!!

WatchingFromTheWings · 25/05/2020 17:25

I own 2 bikinis. Never worn them anywhere BUT the garden! Don't have the nerve to wear them on the beach!

somenerve · 25/05/2020 18:03

@TheHighestSardine So don't take it.

A lot of people are deficient, which is not great, and sunlight is the best source. As the NHS says, “Most people can make enough vitamin D from being out in the sun daily for short periods with their forearms, hands or lower legs uncovered and without sunscreen from late March or early Aprilto the end of September, especially from 11am to 3pm.”
