AIBU?

To wear my bikini in the garden

I’ll start of by saying - it’s probably not a pretty sight! Lockdown overeating means I’m pretty “wobbly”.
But ... it’s just so bloody hot - and it’s the bikini I bought for the holiday I should be on.
Neighbours could probably see me if they happen to look out of back bedrooms.
So - Aibu to be wearing my bikini in the garden

Do people really stand and stare out their windows for long periods of time?

When they are on the phone, yes why not.

Do people really stand and stare out their windows for long periods of time? I cant say i ever have unless it's to watch the fight that happens on the side road occasionally.

If I'm just by the window and happen to glance out and see my neighbour in the garden (fully clothed) I always turn away quickly incase they think I'm being nosy.

I've been wondering about this my garden was totally private but the neighbours loft extension windows give an oblique view. My dh says it's their problem what they see but it's their dc bedroom windows.

Get in that 'kini because you'll melt if you don't.

I hope you went for it! I got my wobbly bits out in a bikini in the back garden today too it was great!! I even did a spot of topless sunbathing in a corner where the neighbours can't easily see, much to DP's shock and mock horror Hmm

Do it. And make sure you enthusiastically belly bump any member of your household that joins you in the garden; preferably with a run up and a jump.

Wear it with pride lady!
I used to love sunbathing topless when I lived in a bigger house with a bigger garden. Every bugger could've seen me tits out, but no i live in a terrace with very friendly neighbours on both side who occasionally pop over the fence for a chat if they hear me out, put a stop to getting my baps out.

And thats more because I would be mortified trying to hold a conversation with the lovely bloke from next door, should he happen to pop over the fence, with my bits swinging around Grin

@Grumpylockeddownwoman - OP, would it fit?
bikinis I buy for holidays usually meant on a slimmed down body (not the current wobbly one, like yours... terrible chocolate eating!)

...and I just saw my NDN, male in his 70s... cannot unsee it for a while! Grin
So, would consider my relationship with neighbours first! Grin

Wear whatever you like, as long as that includes sunscreen, and enjoy it :)

As long as you are decent, wear what you want. I bet you wouldn't think twice in seeing your (female) neighbour in a sports bras and shorts.

I've just been in the communal garden in mine. Every time I turned over one nipple popped out.

I hope you wear it or wore it!

It's your garden and you wear what you want.. no one should be looking anyway! Make the most of the sunshine and heat... Smile

Do it I've been wearing mine. Way I see it neighbours will see me in the paddling pool splashing about and think they're on safari and spotted a hippo Grin

I've been sunbathing topless in my back garden.

I had mine on in the garden today, not exactly toned and slim but thought why not. And pretended i was on holiday by dipping into the paddling pool to cool off 😂

It's your garden, no one should be looking.

I get my saggy mum boobs out to breastfeed in my garden 😆

I've been sunbathing in just my knickers. If the farmers bugger off tomorrow then I'll take them off as well. I'm lucky to not be overlooked (normally) but even so, if someone wants to look at me with no clothes on that's their bad luck. I detest my body and I'm almost certain that if someone else happens upon it they'll look away as soon as they can 😀 I'm just trying to not get any tan lines …

A bikini body is a body in a bikini. Go for it OP!

@somenerve nobody's asking you to die, just to make some sense.

First you say OP shouldn't wear sunscreen, then you say "People want to slather themselves in sunscreen, go for it".

In between, you quote NHS guidance that says people can get enough Vitamin D from being 75% covered up in short bursts of exposure to normal daylight... which means that your original advice of lying out in a bikini with no sunscreen on a hot day in order to maintain their Vitamin D levels is clearly excessive.

I'm thrilled to bits you haven't got skin cancer yet. Genuinely relieved for anyone who manages to avoid it. (Anecdotal bollocks, but a lot of people out there haven't been so lucky.)

But your health status isn't the point – I was just trying to understand where you'd have to be coming from in order to validate the utterly contradictory evidence you chose to back up your claims.

@iamabackseatdriverfromamerica This is not a hill I’m going to die on. People want to slather themselves in sunscreen, go for it. Anecdotal bollocks, but I’ve lived a long life out in the sun unprotected by that crap, without being struck down by skin cancer (as have a lot of other people on earth, I daresay). Your mileage may vary.
