To join in doorstep protest tomorrow evening 8pm and urge others to do the same?

At 8pm tomorrow 26 May my family will take part in this protest.

Not that I think the consequences should end there....but I need to register my disgust somehow at the contempt Boris Johnson and the Government have shown for all of us.

I can't express how appalled I am by this, I know what my family has gone through and I have seen the hardships others have faced; and still kept to the rules for the sake of the public good. The Government's actions have shown how little respect and regard they have for us.

I do hope that others who feel similar outrage join in with this protest.

Grin Grin Grin Love it OP!! Well done you have brought a smile to my face at least!!! First class wind up, booing like idiots tomorrow evening, yeah right Grin Grin Grin

LakieLady · 25/05/2020 13:55

I jokingly said to DP on Friday that this week's clap should be replaced with "Boo for Boris", I never dreamed that it might be an actual thing.

Mind you, I might be minded to join in if it started round my way, I think the handling of the pandemic has been pretty shite and the PM's pet SPAD ignoring it is just an insult to the rest of us.

WorraLiberty · 25/05/2020 13:56

I will protest that in any & every way I see fit.

So why ask if you're BU?

Sodamncaughtinthemiddle · 25/05/2020 13:57

Not a chance. Its childish and pointless.
And I will say childish because that's exactly what it is
Everyone has their own story and I have been affected by lockdown
However jeering on my doorstep is ridiculous.

Redglitter · 25/05/2020 13:58

The Government's actions has made me feel that it was all pointless

I dont understand this train of thought at all. He did a stupid thing. How on earth does that make you keeping your family safe pointless. You, like the rest of us have followed the guidelines. Why on earth does one idiots behaviour make you question yours

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 25/05/2020 13:59

I will protest that in any & every way I see fit

Of course you can! And others can react to your childish idea in the way that they see fit, which is to laugh at it.

SuckingDieselFella · 25/05/2020 13:59

Thanks for the laugh, OP.

This will be an exercise in spotting which of your neighbours read Momentum facebook pages. And even worse, which of them actually do their bidding.

user1471505494 · 25/05/2020 14:00

Childish and pathetic

LordyLordy1 · 25/05/2020 14:00

what a joke @Livingtothefull

This is nothing more than a contrived protest by the left and the remoaners.

No outrage when the Kinnocks had tea with their MP son on their doorstep and he'd drive to see them- and he's an MP not simply an aide.
Of course that was an 'essential' journey to take food to his father and have a party in the front garden- and that was weeks ago when lockdown was at its highest.

Half the accusations against DC are probably contrived.

His reason for going is covered by childcare needs; his child is evidently autistic, so could not be left with neighbours or friends had both parents ended up in ICU- children like that need familiar faces.

This is being made into a witch hunt by the left who haven't got over the fact they lost the election, mainly thanks to DC.

Leicester5 · 25/05/2020 14:02

No, I won't be doing that

WaterOffADucksCrack · 25/05/2020 14:04

I presume that nobody on here bothers to clap for the NHS on Thursdays as obviously, doorstep demos are pointless. Correct. The NHS gets fuck all then us care homes get the left over dregs. We only got access to tests for staff and residents to meet government targets.

I don't care what anyone thinks of me Unless they call you something you don't like/agree with.

HannahStern · 25/05/2020 14:05

Boo For Boris will be a lot more effective than Clap For Carers!

We can't have that.

rwalker · 25/05/2020 14:07

Really can't see the point he's lost all credibility sick of hearing about it.

strugglingwithdeciding · 25/05/2020 14:08

Clapping for nhs was whilst st beginning and more about people feeling that they were coming together in the only way positive and for a positive reason
This is not positive will achieve nothing and like I have said before borderline bullying and yes also childish ,

CrazyTimesAreOccurring · 25/05/2020 14:08

Ive been doing Binge for Binmen for 2 months, it has really taken off! But unlike you slackers who only do something once a week, I am committed to doing this EVERYDAY!

No thanks needed

Jaxhog · 25/05/2020 14:08

You'd only be justified in doing this if you could categorically say that you have not broken a single rule or guidance on the Coronavirus and that you will not break one in the future.

I doubt many of us can say that with certainty.

Devlesko · 25/05/2020 14:09

I'm in the NW, doubt they'll hear me.

PrimalLass · 25/05/2020 14:10

No it's pointless.

strugglingwithdeciding · 25/05/2020 14:10

@lordylordy exactly that gets brushed under the carpet by all
If your against breaking rules then your against all that do it
I think dc is worse for keeping it all hush hush if it was allowed as I don't think enough of us had interpreted the rules the same so would of been good to know if we found ourselves in this dilemma
And if proven he went back then there would be no excuse but without concrete proof I don't k is how we can provide it

WorraLiberty · 25/05/2020 14:11

CrazyTimesAreOccurring Grin Grin

I've been doing 'Drink for the Dustmen' and so far it's going fine.

They did moan about all the empty bottles though.

Ungrateful bastards Hmm

Grobagsforever · 25/05/2020 14:11

I'm in.

And I'm writing to my MP

strugglingwithdeciding · 25/05/2020 14:11

@crazy time well done you 😂😂

ShadowyFigure · 25/05/2020 14:11

Well the demolition work on the flats across the road from mine begins tomorrow so I could get a 2 for the price of 1 boo in protest at the noise and Cummings grim behaviour. Tempting.

SpokeTooSoon · 25/05/2020 14:12

OMG get over it all of you!!!!!!!!!!

cardibach · 25/05/2020 14:13

that was weeks ago when lockdown was at its highest
End of March, @LordyLordy1, same as Cummings. Kinnock was stupid, too, but you can’t argue it was anywhere near the level of breach. He had a reason to be there (Although he then did something unwise), he wasn’t suffering symptoms Mostly, though, he apologised. Not only has Cummings not apologised, Johnson has made a ludicrous statement that he’s some kind of a hero of parenting for doing it. To say Cummings is ‘only’ an adviser is to understate it a bit He has far more influence than Kinnock, and an MP can be removed from office (eventually) by constituents. Cummings can’t.

I won’t be booing, because I think all these doorstep things are pointless. However, it really isn’t bullying. Bullying needs a power imbalance of some sort in favour of the bully Cummings and a Johnson have the power here. What it is, is people showing outrage at the poor behaviour of their government and it’s advisers.
