Ooh have they discovered a bit in the guidance that everyone else missed (again) saying if your child has SEND there's special arrangements? Because our family and quite a few others who have been dealing with major SEND related issues would have loved to have been able to access our usual family support system.

I'm getting seriously worried about the basic intelligence of this lot if they think no one else in the UK but Cummings has a kid with ASD and had Covid, and coped without transporting said kid and the virus to Durham.

I don't give a damn what Cummings has to say, he's not an elected representative, he's not a celebrity, he's irrelevant. I want to see that the Prime Minister of the UK isn't thick enough to prioritise telling stupid and offensive lies for his mate over keeping the trust of the electorate during an unprecedented international emergency.

Aridane · 25/05/2020 15:36

Ha - Sky now for 4pm says “Dominic Cummings News Conference” for one fucking HOUR

That’s going to be one hell of a long apology

merrymouse · 25/05/2020 15:38

Trouble is those defending him, including BJ, have repeatedly said he hasn't broken the rules.

If they honestly didn't believe he broke the rules, they could have shut this down at the beginning of April when the Guardian started following up on reports that he had been seen in Durham.

IHateCoronavirus · 25/05/2020 15:40

It was probably moved back an hour so he could adjust his apology to suit public reaction.

The80sweregreat · 25/05/2020 15:41

I bet he has a weird mockney type accent.

Jux · 25/05/2020 15:42

MashedpotatobrainzI would be feeling exactly as you describe, but I'm on g strong codeine so I'm floating........ probably the best way to experience this.

It should NOT be happening n the rise garden. It's all a disgrace, and throws integrity out of the window

BiggerBoat1 · 25/05/2020 15:43

What he can possibly say that will make him look like any less of a twat. If its his resignation, then that should have been reported by Boris yesterday. The ego of the man to think we need to see his stupid, smug face right now!

BiggerBoat1 · 25/05/2020 15:44

Maybe he's just giving some BBQ tips.

That would be nice.

Davespecifico · 25/05/2020 15:44

I’ve never heard him speak before.

I predict he’ll come up with some very plausible sounding reasons relating to his child.

I’ll eat my hat if he resigns.

CandlesBlanketsandTea · 25/05/2020 15:46

I'm shocked that he's having a press conference in the Rose Garden instead of just resigning like decent people do! How do we get him and Boris out? I've emailed my MP but is there anything else we can do to put pressure on the government?

Calyx72 · 25/05/2020 15:46

On the news 'Cummings Press Conference'

Cummings is taking questions later today
ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 25/05/2020 15:48

Not a chance he'll resign.

Although , there is always hope

MrsTerryPratchett · 25/05/2020 15:49

I bet he has a weird mockney type accent.

Plus whiny and nasal. I have 5 quid on that if we're running a book.

BiggerBoat1 · 25/05/2020 15:52

I reckon he'll sound like Barry White and we'll all fall in love with him and understand why Boris wants to be his sock puppet.

The80sweregreat · 25/05/2020 15:55

Barry white!
No, he'll have a strange accent or terribly posh.

ParkheadParadise · 25/05/2020 15:55

Hope he's changed his manky t-shirt from yesterday.

MrsTerryPratchett · 25/05/2020 15:55

Got any money on that Bigger?

LonginesPrime · 25/05/2020 15:59

Ooh have they discovered a bit in the guidance that everyone else missed (again) saying if your child has SEND there's special arrangements?

The only SEND exemptions I saw were in relation to more frequent exercise (when it was limited to once a day) and being able to travel further afield for exercise for SEND people.

Nothing about travelling when infected!

Also, given that a young child with ASD is likely to have unpredictable behaviour and their parents would be more likely than the average parent to have to stop on a long journey like that, who in their right mind would embark on that journey while infected with COVID during lockdown? It makes even less sense when you factor the child's SEND into the equation.

Choccyp1g · 25/05/2020 16:00

Maya Goodfellow, well named. On BBC 1 now

SteppedOnBloodyLego · 25/05/2020 16:02

Hopefully he’ll tell the truth: on the day of the trip to Durham it was his mother's birthday. On the day of the trip to the castle it was his wife's birthday.
Oh wait, he probably won’t. 😀

The80sweregreat · 25/05/2020 16:02

He might have a Russian accent like Villenelle!!
He lived there ( been on wiki)
His son is named after an Anglo Saxon god.

IHateCoronavirus · 25/05/2020 16:02

Was that woman just talking Maya? I liked her. Go on Maya!

Choccyp1g · 25/05/2020 16:04

Tom Harwood, what a CREEP

MadeForThis · 25/05/2020 16:05

He can't even start on time.

madroid · 25/05/2020 16:05

"Put his aide before the electorate" - good comment on BBC
