He can't look after his own son!

NewAccountForCorona · 25/05/2020 17:16

It's all very carefully constructed, this story.

Carefully constructed around the proven sightings. Carefully constructed to take advantage of loopholes.

Haggisfish · 25/05/2020 17:16

Yes indeed

Lemonylemony · 25/05/2020 17:16

Pretty sure DVLA wouldn’t advise just having a crack at a 60 mile drive if you’re not sure whether your eyesight is functional for driving or not.

yogz1976 · 25/05/2020 17:17

He decided to test his failing eyesight by driving 30 mins with a 4 year old in the back of the car Hmm

NewAccountForCorona · 25/05/2020 17:17

How many journalists are now looking to see what the infection rate in the local hospital was before and after the visit by his wife and child.

The80sweregreat · 25/05/2020 17:17

I am gobsmacked. His not said sorry.
He thinks his above the law.
He should just resign.

ineedaholidaynow · 25/05/2020 17:17

How can you not remember getting petrol? We haven't had to fill up for 2 months so it would be a novelty for us

Aridane · 25/05/2020 17:17

This is pack bullying and it is seldom deserved. He’s hardly Fred west.

He’s hardly Fred West - probably the kindest thing said about Mr C on this thread

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 25/05/2020 17:17

There was another thread elsewhere but god it's clear he was doing anything and everything he possibly could to avoid looking after his own child!

I was ill and couldn't look after a 4 year old, my wife could he says. Yeah but when she was ill everyone get in the car 250 mile road trip, big important man couldn't possibly do the wifework! Arrogant arse.

Nicknacky · 25/05/2020 17:18

He just needs to say “look, in hindsight I should have made different choices and I can see it looked like it wasn’t in the spirit.”

Just give people what they want to hear.

CoolCarrie · 25/05/2020 17:18

well he is a wanker so maybe he did need to test his eyesight...!

Notmyrealname855 · 25/05/2020 17:18

Why is this even happening? He's not a fucking MP, he's a fucking advisor. He should never, ever have been given this airtime to start with

Yesssss!!! And if you have a Gov with ONE unelected advisor who’s so brilliant they can’t do without him, then that’s an unworkable model and what does it say about the bleeding Cabinet? Does it not indicate this muppet has too much power, that we have no oversight of?

solieltoday · 25/05/2020 17:18

Can the wife not drive?

Why did she need him to test his eyesight by driving to Barnard Castle?

If he could hardly stand a few days before, why did she not offer to drive? Even half the way?

Very weird.

oralengineer · 25/05/2020 17:18

After BJ’s attempt, in almost one sentence, to explain DCs actions yesterday he has thrown him to the wolves. I suspect after lengthy conversations BJ has washed his hands of the situation. He stuck to the script yesterday, almost embarrassed to discuss it.

The80sweregreat · 25/05/2020 17:18

No he isn't a murderer or anything.
He is just trying to dig himself out of a hole!

lyralalala · 25/05/2020 17:19

It's funny how some things are so clear in his mind and others are so hazy. He should probably seek expert medical advice for that

OldLace · 25/05/2020 17:19

Now he cant remember when he stopped for petrol too. Christ alive!

Nicknacky · 25/05/2020 17:19

He can’t even answer this question straight.

Celeriacacaca · 25/05/2020 17:19

Killer question re alternative childcare.

DishingOutDone · 25/05/2020 17:19

I literally want to drive up there and shout CAN YOUR WIFE DRIVE OR WOT over the wall.

mrsspooky · 25/05/2020 17:19

can his wife not drive?

ShinyFootball · 25/05/2020 17:19

'17:18CoolCarrie

well he is a wanker so maybe he did need to test his eyesight...!'

You won the thread!!!

Jux · 25/05/2020 17:20

His wife threw up but had no COVID symptoms and was well enough to look after their son while Cummings himself was ill a few days later. So why the worry that they wouldn't be how to look after d's when all that's happened is his wife threw up?

No help from fAmily was required.

Mary could have isolated herself in bedrkom, as So many people did. Some proposing a tent upon to garden, lived in a caravan etc. She could have done any of that, while he worked from home using zolm, skype, etc, and looked after son.

By the time he fell ill his it's was well enough to look after son - she must have been because she did that in Durham anyway, so she could look after son in London.

In the event, he established looked after son this spreading virus to that household who were not isolating, and were doing their shopping.

peridito · 25/05/2020 17:20

He can't say sorry because that would allow that he has committed a wrongdoing .

He has said that he understands why people are furious and upset .

TBH I agree with him ,he was in a tricky situation and he did what he thought was for the best .
