If my husband needed to test his eyes, or his strength, by going for a short drive then there's not a chance in hell he'd be doing so with our child in the back of the car

areallthenamesusedup · 25/05/2020 17:20

What previous poster says.....I am worried about my eye sight....let me strap my child into a car seat.....and take him on a test drive???

ineedaholidaynow · 25/05/2020 17:20

Does he not like his niece!

Why has he not mentioned his family in London?

LouHotel · 25/05/2020 17:20

Bet his 17 year old niece is well happy to be such a large part of his explanation.

LaurieMarlow · 25/05/2020 17:20

This is making Prince Andrew look coherent and reasonable.

JollyHostess · 25/05/2020 17:21

This is reminding me in some of my worst job interviews where I couldn't remember the question and just kept repeating one or two things and hating myself as I did it, knowing it was shit.

MadameMarie · 25/05/2020 17:21

He's making it up as he goes along but the media circus#/doorstepping of recent days plays into his hands.

everythingthelighttouches · 25/05/2020 17:21

Does his wife not drive?

4cats2kids · 25/05/2020 17:21

I thought he was meant to be really brainy Grin

AnneKipanki · 25/05/2020 17:21

Grin @LaurieMarlow

Decmum19 · 25/05/2020 17:21

This statement contradicts what Mary said in her Spectator article. Is she now the liar?

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 25/05/2020 17:22

DC and Boris Johnson have completely misjudged the public mood and the media’s

This won’t go away now. He is fighting a losing battle and one I suspect he will find him fighting alone shortly

Lemonylemony · 25/05/2020 17:22

This has been going on for over three quarters of an hour now.

He really can’t see that he’s in the wrong. It’s interesting in a kind of morbid way, it’s like his brain just doesn’t function in the way most peoples do. Is this sociopathy? (Not meaning that in a pejorative way, genuine question). He really just seems to not get why this is an issue. Incredibly inflexible and zero empathy.

Ipadipod · 25/05/2020 17:22

I reckon he will resign after this.

The80sweregreat · 25/05/2020 17:22

Dig dig dig mate.
Nobody is buying it

ineedaholidaynow · 25/05/2020 17:22

I was wondering why his wife couldn't drive

MaxNormal · 25/05/2020 17:23

So what about the terrible suffering from Covid that they both did according to his wife's Spectator piece? And a drive with family to test your eyesight? Are we being trolled?

billysboy · 25/05/2020 17:23

he like a rabbit in the headlights !

just an arrogant fucker

Jux · 25/05/2020 17:23

I'm on codeine so forgive gobbledygook of my post ^^. Is it comprehensible anyway?

LaurieMarlow · 25/05/2020 17:23

TBH I agree with him ,he was in a tricky situation and he did what he thought was for the best

Which was directly opposed to the guidelines given to everyone else who was in a tricky situation. Hmm

Uke15 · 25/05/2020 17:23

@Decmum19

He admitted that she lied, he didn't want the press to target his parents apparently.

This has been delicious, but he's not going anywhere.

areallthenamesusedup · 25/05/2020 17:23

Please can a journo ask if his wife can drive??????
If yes, why the bollox castle trip?

ShinyFootball · 25/05/2020 17:23

What did he think the journalists were going to say?

Or, is he thinking that the general public would be amenable to what he said and facing the journalists was worth getting his spin out direct to the public.

MaxNormal · 25/05/2020 17:23

@Lemonylemony well David Cameron did describe him as a "career sociopath". From the architect of austerity, that's quite something.

MarshaBradyo · 25/05/2020 17:23

He doesn’t need to resign.

I don’t think he’ll get complete understanding but it’s fine to stay.
