I'm not expecting anyone to take my side but just wanted to put my point across because you seriously are a lot of misinformed busy bodies.

Oh dear Lord, do you all not have enough going on in your own lives without having to spend so much time thinking about DC. Mumsnet in general is a Labour Loving Lick Arse group and no matter what the tories do, you all complain. I've seen threads on here about whether people should be reporting neighbours to police for having parties etc and the majority of you said no. Make your bloody minds up. It's only because of who it is, you are all going mad. You make out like the whole country followed guidelines to a tee and he is the only one who has done anything wrong, even though he hasn't. His job as a loving father comes before everything, and if it wasn't for the fact my kids are teenagers and very self sufficient, we would have had to do something similar as both myself and hubby were very ill with C19 with underlying health conditions. Focus on your own lives and leave other people alone. Everyone thinks they can get involved in other people's lives and it's getting bloody ridiculous.

I'm just inputting my details into the LLAG website to sign myself the Hell up. It's a very reasonable monthly payment.

I can 100% guarantee I am smarter than you. You have no idea who you're talking to. Christ, it really is Cummings.

Yeah some slightly lacking non-entity on the Internet. You’re doing nothing in revising my opinion on your lack of little grey cells.

You sound like a badly written, 1960s Bond villain.

Somerville · 25/05/2020 13:06

His job as a loving father comes before everything

Before the risk of killing other people by infecting them with coronavirus? Or not before everything everything?

Wait until you get your membership pack. It’ll blow your mind. Pens, badges, a wooly hat and a totally ineffective Covid-19 antibody test.

Saturns · 25/05/2020 13:07

Up until this Dominic Cummings story started to emerge is say the outgrowing attitude on here was to report your neighbours if they were having a party ect. The tide has only started to turn very recently.

Fucksakewiseup · 25/05/2020 13:07

Ethelfleda

Yes, that is I

We were being told if you have any signs of coronovirus, STAY AT HOME!
Not drive a few hundred miles potentially taking your germs with you.
I'd say that about anyone, it's got nothing to do with who he is - but it's especially worse coming from him as it does seem one rule for us, another for them!

NiknicK · 25/05/2020 13:09

Agree with you 100%. A lot of people are showing their true colours throughout this pandemic. I’m just glad that my own friends and family are spending their time focusing on themselves, their kids, keeping healthy, doing little projects around the house and generally trying to get though each day the best that they can, as opposed to pouring all of their energy into being full on busy bodies and berating other people who dare to do things differently to them.

Fucksakewiseup · 25/05/2020 13:09

Saturns
It definitely wasn't. One poor woman was scared after reporting her neighbour that they might retaliate and 99% of mumsnet who replied said she shouldnt have done it

YABU it's up to the gov to set a good example, not do the opposite of what they tell everyone else to do.
How can they expect to be taken seriously, everytime they do something stupid, they let their party down.
Currently for me that's Boris, priti racist Patel, racist Gove, they're all at it.

pigsDOfly · 25/05/2020 13:13

AIBU to think you should all concentrate on your own lives instead of other peoples?

I really can't bear people who start threads with titles that tell us all what we should or shouldn't be doing as if we're some sort of unthinking homogeneous lump.

Obviously you're a little low in irony awareness when you then go on in your post to tell everyone on MN what they should and shouldn't be doing.

I couldn't care less about what other people are doing or how they live their lives tbh and it would never occur to me to report anyone for breaking lockdown.

However, DC effectively putting two fingers up at the rest of the country and being supported by BJ is not about how other's live their lives it's about the total arrogance they have displayed in flouting their own advice and rules when we - all the little people - are expect to stick to them; some people even having incurred fines for breaking rules.

And it isn't only MNers who think this way.

Other MPs have had to resign for doing the same thing as DC who isn't even elected, yet seems to run our government, and can do exactly as he likes. That's what rankles for me, and I suspect a lot of other people.

So sod off with your instruction on how MNers should live their lives.

And just so you know, YRBVU for using the word 'hubby'.

strugglingwithdeciding · 25/05/2020 13:16

@zara def not right wing 😂😂

MarshaBradyo · 25/05/2020 13:16

I disagree NikNak

We can pay attention to what the government does and says. A contrite message from DC fine. Johnson showing what a weak non leader he is. Reading out Cumming’s words. Nope.

I’m more bemused by people who willing except whatever bs comes their way. And defend it.

Dc making a statement tonight. Good.

Pinkblueberry · 25/05/2020 13:16

Does ‘concentrating on your own lives’ include concentrating on others not concentrating on their own lives? You’re not setting the best example... if you are saintly concentrating on your own life, why are you bothered that others aren’t?

Oh do tell who we are talking to as you sound terrific and I think your Dominic’s mum.

cyclingmad · 25/05/2020 13:18

I dont really look to politicians for any type of setting example

I sont need to look to anyone for any type of example I look to the values and standards I want to live by as my examples.

I may never recover from the angst at Who I Might Be Talking To.

I mean I know what I’m talking to but still...
