Do you weigh daily (I read somewhere this helps people keep the weight off), or weekly, or less often? Or do you do measurements or go on clothes sizes? I'm currently weighing every 2 weeks or so. Just curious!

Never. Don’t have any scales.

Weenurse · 25/05/2020 12:15

Daily, if weight creeps on, I know to decrease intake and up exercise.

StirlingWork · 25/05/2020 12:16

Yes I weigh at least daily currently. I got a good outcome this morning!!

Sparklesocks · 25/05/2020 12:17

Honestly only every few months or so. For me I have a better relationship with food and my body if I’m not constantly checking the scales.

thecognoscenti · 25/05/2020 12:17

Never.

'At least daily' seems astonishingly unhealthy.

BertieBotts · 25/05/2020 12:17

Randomly. I am not trying to lose weight though.

BrokenBrit · 25/05/2020 12:19

Never, no scales. I can tell by my clothes if I’ve gained or lost much weight and otherwise it’s just regular fluctuations.

In an ideal world , I agree thecognoscenti

undercoveraessedai · 25/05/2020 12:21

Never! Grin I have to get weighed at the Dr every three months for my injection, but as they work in kg I still have absolutely fuck all idea what I weigh 😁

MotheringShites · 25/05/2020 12:23

I weigh every day. I know it’s not ideal in many respects but I’d rather keep tabs on my weight and can quickly deal with any increase. I’d hate the thought of a nasty surprise.

user1487194234 · 25/05/2020 12:23

Every second day
If weight goes up I cut down on food and up the exercise
Was 2 stone overweight after having my 3d DC.

Took me over a year to get it off, never going back there !

Lostinbooksandcoffee · 25/05/2020 12:25

Quite randomly but maybe once every few weeks. I'm actually trying to gain about 10lbs but it's not happening.

larrythelizard · 25/05/2020 12:30

Weekly. But then I am on a health kick/diet and I need to to keep me on course.

Buddyelf · 25/05/2020 12:31

Weekly but I’m on slimming world and losing weight.

M0mmyneedswine · 25/05/2020 12:32

Once a week

HaddawayAndShite · 25/05/2020 12:32

There's actually studies how daily weighing can aide weight loss.

It COULD be unhealthy but only if it's part of a wider pattern of unhealthiness around food and eating.

SimonJT · 25/05/2020 12:35

I usually get weight at the gym once a week, I don’t have a balance here so don’t weigh myself at home.

TwilightPeace · 25/05/2020 12:37

I don’t have scales at home.
I have daughters and wouldn’t want them becoming obsessed with weight.
I go by how I feel and how my clothes fit.

MatildaTheCat · 25/05/2020 12:37

Daily. It’s definitely helped me keep the weight off since losing a significant amount about 14 years ago.

I’m ok with mild fluctuations but can immediately spot an upward trend and deal with it.

BlueBooby · 25/05/2020 12:37

I've been weighing myself every 1-2 days since I've been trying to gain weight. Normally I probably weigh myself every few months or so.

Mauhea · 25/05/2020 12:39

Twice a week - one mid-week with my clothes on at 5pm which is sent to my Slimming World consultant (trying to keep as close to group times as possible) and the other first thing Sunday morning in the nude. The Sunday weigh-in is mostly for my own benefit but also lets me know how much work I need to put in ready for SW weigh-in. :)

WatchingFromTheWings · 25/05/2020 12:39

Twice a week, just to keep an eye. Im due to have surgery later in the year and they won't do it if my weight veers wildly one way or the other.

Sally872 · 25/05/2020 12:39

I weigh daily as I am trying to lose weight. I record daily and a 7 day average (Richie Howie) this helps smooth fluctuations and keep me motivated if it goes up one day as average still going down and generally corrects by the next day.

At target weight I intend to keep this up but may not be necessary.

Whenever I am too happy and want to be a miserable bitch for the rest of the day.
