New thread to continue previous one, hope you don't mind original OP!

OP posts:
Notmyrealname855 · 25/05/2020 00:33

It suits you to portray him as someone devoid of human feelings

How does it suit the UK to have “leadership” in turmoil like this? Who does any of this suit?

derxa · 25/05/2020 00:43

And it suits you to defend him to fit some agenda of your own. Or maybe it boosts your ego to play the 'maverick'? No I'm just weary of outrage. Perhaps I do have an agenda. I've just had a BC diagnosis and my DH and I have not been able to see each other for months because of these fucking rules. I don't think the govt expected us to be so compliant. But the media ran with it and you only have to read the threads on here to understand the obsession with mad rule following.

Moominmammaatsea · 25/05/2020 00:43

To be honest, having reflected on my extreme anger this weekend at the blatant arrogance and disdain for the British public by Dominic Cummings and Boris Johnson (note the order in which I cite them), I’m also mad as hell with the Labour Party for having persisted with that beyond lame duck Jeremy Corbyn for so long. This is why we are in the mire we’re in; there has been no credible opposition for years. The Bullingdon Boys have been getting away with murder for years as a consequence. Please, Sir Keir Starmer, be a decent human being but be a persistent thorn in the side of BJ and DC.

StormzyinaTCup · 25/05/2020 00:46

I think it's fair to say that whatever he does it will be wrong just because it's Dominic Cummings. He doesn't like the media and the media don't like him but what the media do have going for them is an excellent ability at getting people worked up into a frenzy. It's like Brexit all over again. I can't be arsed with it to be honest.

StormzyinaTCup · 25/05/2020 00:48

These 💐are for you dexra

PotholeParadise · 25/05/2020 00:48

derxa I am very sorry to hear about your health news.

FliesandPies · 25/05/2020 00:50

I'm sorry about the diagnosis derxa but you sound mixed-up and your confusion doesn't justify trying to attack people who haven't given in to nihilism, who aren't 'weary of outrage'.

People should be outraged by this and should have been outraged before the election by the corruption of our politics. I feel exhausted by it but also really glad to finally see and hear people turn against the elite.

DioneTheDiabolist · 25/05/2020 00:51

Nah, it was wrong because he ignored the CV19 rules that everyone else followed. If he had stayed at home and isolated like he was supposed to, this wouldn't be happening.🤷‍♀️

HeIenaDove · 25/05/2020 00:55

Derxa im sorry to hear about your diagnosis Thanks

Ratasha · 25/05/2020 00:56

@derxa

It wasnt a media frenzy or public opinion that enforced lockdown laws, it was the police stopping and questioning people and imposing fines, as directed by Johnson, Cummings and co.

For Cummings to immediately and knowingly break those laws, and Johnson to support him by gaslighting the country, is rank hypocrisy.

My sympathies and best wishes for your diagnosis and recovery.

derxa · 25/05/2020 00:57

you sound mixed-up You can always rely on MN to overflow with the milk of human kindness. I don't like BJ or DC but I do understand that they are human beings.

HeIenaDove · 25/05/2020 01:01

Another longer video of DC being yelled at by his neighbours. Including cries of hypocrite and Resign.

FliesandPies · 25/05/2020 01:02

You can always rely on MN to overflow with the milk of human kindness

After a stream of sympathy and good wishes from posters? I'm sorry if you don't want to hear it, I meant it genuinely, I think you need some rest and try to get your head together.

Everyone understands that Johnson and Cummings are human beings, their human failings are all too obvious. The issue is that they don't care about the suffering of all those other human beings, beings that they have a duty and responsibility to which they are just not up to.

HeIenaDove · 25/05/2020 01:03

They are human beings Derxa .............true but the sentiment doesnt seem to be reciprocated by them and i dont mean just about this subject either.

StormzyinaTCup · 25/05/2020 01:06

Why would you be posting that? it really doesn’t help your cause, it’s bordering on harassment.

derxa · 25/05/2020 01:12

I think you need some rest and try to get your head together. Thanks. I'm a very strong person and have dealt with worse so your concern for my mental health is misplaced. Thanks for all the flowers as it means a lot. Anyway pay attention to any symptoms and don't be scared to go to your GP. They're open for business. Sorry for derailing.

HeIenaDove · 25/05/2020 01:16

Is it? I suspect the courts will be busy then.

StinkyWizzleteets · 25/05/2020 01:22

The outrage I’m seeing isn’t from the media, it’s from the population following the rules angry at those who believe they are above them.

The man and his puppet must go.

HeIenaDove · 25/05/2020 01:23

it really doesn’t help your cause

An interesting choice of words...........YOUR cause!

I thought fighting this virus was OUR cause ......as a country.

You have just confirmed exactly what we have been discussing here...........that we are NOT all in this together and we never have been!

StormzyinaTCup · 25/05/2020 01:33

Your cause, I'm presuming, is to see the back of DC (correct me if I'm wrong) and that by posting that link you think that's acceptable behaviour. I would beg to differ, harassment is not my thing whether I wanted him sacked or not. We are certainly not in this together if you think that's an ok way to go about it.

HeIenaDove · 25/05/2020 01:38

I posted because it is part of the ongoing development of this news story.

It demonstrates how the news has been received by a lot of the public. A couple of news programmes have shown it too. Are you going to be e mailing them about it?

MsHeffaPiglet · 25/05/2020 02:09

I confess to not reading many of the posts on here or on the other thread.

Dominic Cummings is such a hate figure solely because of Brexit. He was succesful and will never be forgiven for it. So the mention of his name is enough to cause many people to end up in an apoplectic rage. This I find to be so boring.

However, that being said, I think he should resign just like all the others in government or advising the government had to do. But my view is not based on who he is, but solely on what he did during lockdown. If anyone in the household had symptoms, they should have stayed put. If the parents became too ill to look after their child, a symptom free relative or friend could have joined the household or taken in the child.

SharonasCorona · 25/05/2020 02:10

DC mum says:

*I’m so disgusted with the way journalists [have acted], that I’m not going to make any more comments to anybody about anything, because all it does is make things worse.”

I’m very sorry for their loss but 13yo Ismail Mohamed Abdulwah‘s family were not even allowed to see their son before he died due to government policy, which has subsequently changed. DC’s visit to his parents was indefensible.

@derxa so sorry about your diagnosis, wish you all the best 🌺

lyralalala · 25/05/2020 02:26

So, your opinion is because of what he did, but other people's opinion is actually because of Brexit?

whocanibe2day · 25/05/2020 03:02

Well I've emailed this to Duncan Smith - I'm presuming he's supporting Boris et al

Dear Iain
I am utterly appalled and disgusted at the sheer hypocrisy of Boris and Dominic Cummings.
Please tell me that you will not be supporting him?
While a nation suffered from physical ill health and severe mental stress, the very people who imposed this lockdown on us were completely disregarding it themselves.
I will be very annoyed if I see you on the news supporting Dominic Cummings.
He put several people at risk of a deadly virus. While the rest of us sacrificed our lives and our future for him.
Please assure me that you will not be one of the cowards supporting him?
Kind regards

Has he been on the news yet supporting them all?
