to think Dominic Cummings has to go?

RoosterPie · 22/05/2020 20:39

Dominic Cummings apparently travelled to his parents house while meant to be self isolating due to covid symptoms.

Given what happened with Neil Ferguson and Catherine Calderwood, AIBU to think his position ought to be untenable?

I'm considering lockdown over for me now, I have no respect or trust in the government anymore. I'm going to start making unnecessary journeys on public transport from tomorrow

DC would love it if you did

What better way for his 'get back out there' and herd immunity wishes to happen than that

Intothesun · 23/05/2020 19:28

I'm going to start making unnecessary journeys on public transport from tomorrow

Well that's up to you if you want to put your health at risk.

RoosterPie · 23/05/2020 19:31

Please don’t. Just because Dominic Cummings is a hypocritical cunt doesn’t mean it would be right to spread the virus and put at risk those who have nothing to do with him or his utter lack of integrity.

Section 6 of the act makes it plain travelling to provide care and assistance for the vulnerable is a reasonable excuse. Therefore Cummings acted lawfully.

Travelling to provide care.

They travelled across the country with CV to seek care.

Not even the same thing let alone arguing legalities.

HeIenaDove · 23/05/2020 19:34

I wonder how much his wife"s hair has grown during lockdown.

SophieB100 · 23/05/2020 19:35

Boris needs to get back and do the briefings.

Where is he? Leaving the transport secretary to take the awkward questions today, and Jennie Harris, to keep repeating the same scientific advice, whilst inwardly seething.
And Cummings is a hypocrite.
I don't care that his sister and niece where dropping off food at the door of a house that was in the grounds of his parent's property. Do they think we're that thick that he and his wife couldn't source drop off/potential childcare from all their contacts and stayed in London? Do they not realise that we know that he wouldn't have needed to worry about getting a supermarket slot, medicines delivered by volunteers and a bloody food box from Morrisons?
So at the time when I was worrying about delivering food to elderly parents who live 5 miles away, and getting stopped by the police because at that time they were stopping random cars at a nearby junction, it was ok for Boris' mate to drive a sick wife, himself and son (who could have all been infectious) 250 miles away? Without stop offs for toilet/petrol/food/drinks? They must think we were born yesterday.

Dominic 'don't do as I do, do as I say' Cummings.

Should be called Dominic Goings.

Hopoindown31 · 23/05/2020 19:39

Guardian have now released that apparently he was also spotted in Barnard Castle when he was supposed to be isolated in Durham. Another eye witness claims he was also spotted back in Durham after he had recovered and after he had been seen back working at Downing Street.

It is clear in my mind that this man completely disregarded the rules and fled out of London as fast as his little cowardly legs could carry him. This story about him needing to be with his folks due to the need of his kid are utter, utter bullshit.

People will just not listen to the government now and it fucks me right off. What a fucking scumbag.

His arrogance and hypocrisy is shocking to see.

HandInGove · 23/05/2020 19:41

Dominic Goings Grin

Leicester5 · 23/05/2020 19:45

He's too much trouble really. A back seat advisor who advertises for weirdos (that backfired).

Now he's in the forefront espousing his weird views, he should go. He belongs to Russia anyway.

PerkingFaintly · 23/05/2020 19:48

Hopoindown31, well I'll wait on more details, but if that is substantiated it's a right slap in the face for Shapps, who has just spent an entire press conference repeating that Cummings went to one place and "didn't move about".

No more than Shapps deserves of course, but would show up how foolish it is to go in to bat for such an arrogant, deceitful manipulator.

chomalungma · 23/05/2020 19:49

I wonder what else the Guardian know that they are just waiting to release as the Government dig their hole?

PerkingFaintly · 23/05/2020 19:49

Any witnesses will all be labelled "Labour activists", of course.

mbosnz · 23/05/2020 19:50

They really need to understand the knife-edge that this country is dancing upon right now.

HeIenaDove · 23/05/2020 19:50

Saw on Sky news that police forces are really pissed off with him because now they will be faced with "If Cummings can do it so can i"

HeIenaDove · 23/05/2020 19:52

YY @PerkingFaintly Particularly if they are neighbours of his parents Wink

mbosnz · 23/05/2020 19:53

It was interesting the body language of the copper outside No. 10, watching, I'm assuming, Mr Goings going on in, because it was really quite hostile.

How much harder has that fucking twat and his bleating little enabler Bozo made the polices' job?

Oh shit, I'm writing like the bloody Daily Fail.

Sorry.

PerkingFaintly · 23/05/2020 19:54

Oh, um, I've just read the Guardian article in full.

New witnesses cast doubt on Dominic Cummings's lockdown claims
www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/may/23/new-witnesses-cast-doubt-on-dominic-cummingss-lockdown-claims

That's detailed.Grin

www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/may/23/new-witnesses-cast-doubt-on-dominic-cummingss-lockdown-claims

The plot thickens - Cummings went back to Durham after he had returned from the first trip - to admire the bluebells

Figmentofmyimagination · 23/05/2020 19:55

Even his wife’s magazine wants him gone now -
www.spectator.co.uk/article/why-dominic-cummings-must-go/amp?__twitter_impression=true

PerkingFaintly · 23/05/2020 19:56

Chap in Barnard Castle:

Lees said: “I was a bit gobsmacked to see him, because I know what he looks like. And the rest of the family seemed to match - a wife and child. I was pretty convinced it was him and it didn’t seem right because I assumed he would be in London.”

He added: “I went home and told my wife, we thought he must be in London. I searched up the number plate later that day and my computer search history shows that.”

lazerbullet · 23/05/2020 19:56

I think what he did was stupid and undermines his own government's advice - however, I think the worse crime is the coverup and caping for him by prominent MPs, ministers, journalists, and the accusation of the police lying. Anyone involved in that should go; however, they won't, either

PerkingFaintly · 23/05/2020 20:00

He's clearly been coming and going between London and Co Durham, because he was photographed in Downing St between sightings.

Figmentofmyimagination · 23/05/2020 20:03

He’s so arrogant - just watched his clip with the bbc and read his comments to reporters ‘you were wrong about Brexit - you’ll be wrong about this’. Etc

How is this dreadful man anywhere near our government?

lyralalala · 23/05/2020 20:07

The Guardian and Mirror obviously want him gone. The people rushing out to defend him have been made to look very foolish with the second trip news.
