Why wouldn't they admit it on Mumsnet do you think?

ITonyah · 17/05/2020 21:21

Vote ratio fairly telling.

StormzyinaTCup · 17/05/2020 21:30

growinganotherhead

So you would think then JC/Labour should have been a shoe in, but what they ended up with was the largest Labour defeat in living memory, which is quite an achievement.

strugglingwithdeciding · 17/05/2020 21:39

Also people on here are so self righteous and it's not your right to say who someone voted for and wether they should feel guilty , the fact is nobody knows if anyone else could of done better , they could of used same scientific advise and yes it could of even been worse who knows
But Corbyn is he not 70 so therefore would if been in shielding group and also his brother has been on numerous demonstrations about lockdown so that could of been damaging and I'm sure the papers would of focussed on it heavily as there reporting lately is one of the worst .
The fact is there wasn't much opposition and nhs has more issues than just money

strugglingwithdeciding · 17/05/2020 21:40

@mintychapstick he might if only been arrested a few hours ago but it's not the first time he's demonstrated in recent weeks it was in my local papers

strugglingwithdeciding · 17/05/2020 21:44

But really some of you just need to get of your high horses and accept it isn't your way or the highway

yellowhammers · 17/05/2020 21:46

I voted Conservative and I am pleased with the Govt.
I like Boris' style and his policies.
Not everyone on MN is a raving socialist.

Bflatmajorsharp · 17/05/2020 21:50

Well, given that the current govt have either brought in or are considering bringing in many of the Labour manifesto policies ie nationalising the railways, housing homeless people in temporary accommodation, free nationwide Broadband, plus all the bounce back loans, SE income loss grant, funding furlough etc etc the Tories seem to think that Labour had a better plan than they did.

ScaredandUnderconfident · 17/05/2020 22:01

You don't have to be a raving socialist to not vote Tory!

Simplistic idiocy to be so black and white.

Canyousewcushions · 17/05/2020 22:03

I didn't vote for either...

But now that Corbyn is gone, Labour is a different prospect. I'd far rather Starmer than Johnson for both brexit and coronavirus. But that's not what was on offer at the time. And Cornyn would have been fat worse- his implication that a response to a global pandemic of increasing welfare benefits somehow proved him right said it all. I'm so relieved he didn't get in.

canigooutyet · 17/05/2020 22:05

@IToyah hence I suggested going onto gov website. There are so many updates and additional notes. To put the whole thing I have several pages to link. Wfh etc is also mentioned. Many sites aimed at working parents also have the main points and various links to official pages.

Hence open schools and the need for furlough will reduce vastly. Companies had to furlough working parents. No child care meant no work for many, and what else can you do when workers cannot work but not sick etc?

So many business have been caught out because trawling through the official site is a nightmare. So happy I escaped the furlough nightmare

ITonyah · 17/05/2020 22:10

Companies did NOT have to furlough working parents!

Most requests are probably agreed to but some aren't. We refused to furlough someone with childcare issues because she was in the middle of a crucial project. We arranged wfh and bought her a new laptop so she could wfh more efficiently.

Lily193 · 17/05/2020 22:21

Definitely no regrets or guilt here and would vote Tory again. I'm seeing nothing from Starmer to change that.

Khione · 17/05/2020 22:28

We'd be totally fucked now with a Corbyn government.

I didn't vote Tory but - given current situation I definitely would have

KenDodd · 17/05/2020 23:06

So the BBC are now saying the countries with the move cases of CV are USA, Russia, UK and Brazil.

Now what could those four countries have in common?

TheSandman · 17/05/2020 23:07

I know, pathetic isn't it? Mind you, the poor dears who post this are just getting used to not saying, "It's a good job that Neil Kinnock bloke didn't get in". They'll be on the Corbyn mantra for a few more years yet

It's not pathetic though, it's a legitimate perspective.

It is pathetic.

You're right in that it may well be be a 'legitimate perspective', but saying "Justin Trudeau is WAY sexier than Donald Trump" is a 'legitimate perspective'. (Especially with the beard.)

Bu if I said that EVERY TIME I got into a conversation about North American politics it would be pointless, repetitious, and pathetic.

Saying 'well, it would have been worse with Corbyn' at every opportunity just makes whoever says it sound like a cracked record with bugger all to actually contribute - apart from setting up, and knocking down some outdated straw-man argument.

ZombieFan · 17/05/2020 23:29

growinganotherhead That is a lot of hate going on there!

How did it really feel when the country backed Boris and he romped home with an 80 seat majority?

InFiveMins · 17/05/2020 23:34

Why would they regret their vote? Do you honestly think Corbyn would have handled this any better? Confused

Doubletrouble99 · 17/05/2020 23:49

Well that went well O.P.! No one seems in any way to want to change their mind so that's a no then!

Raidblunner · 17/05/2020 23:56

I was not keen on Corbyn but I at the same time I couldn't vote for homophobic racist liar either. Johnson pretends to be the lovable clumsy chummy clown but in reality he's complete charlatan.

wafflyversatile · 17/05/2020 23:59

Of course they won't. They didnt care about all the unnecessary deaths and suffering over the last decade why would they care about more now.

jimmyjammy001 · 17/05/2020 23:59

Corybn would of paid everyone 150% of their wages on furlough and sent out £10k cheques to everyone, bankrupting the country in the process

Alsohuman · 18/05/2020 00:02

Corybn would of paid everyone 150% of their wages on furlough and sent out £10k cheques to everyone, bankrupting the country in the process

Crystal ball time again. Do people really believe such idiocy?

Wendigogo · 18/05/2020 00:12

Corbyn probably would have introduced a lockdown quicker but the right wing press would have been up in arms, and we'd probably have seen a lot more flouting of the rules and protests.

Not Corbyn's fault, its just where we are as a country.

JudyCoolibar · 18/05/2020 00:17

Evidence, @jimmyjammy001? No, that would in fact be a total fantasy on your part. And it's "would have".
