Now I know that year on year, ASOS never fail to make some absolute monstrosities. Injurious to the eyes. Painful to behold. Insults to the good name of footwear.

But these... these might just be the ugliest I’ve ever seen.

Gladiator wedges!

Not sure if anyone else remembers this but there was a woman arrested in Belfast a few summers ago for attacking someone in a park. It was all caught on camera and she was wearing gladiator sandals. The videos were shared widely on SM.

Good Lord. I was expected to wear something similar in the late 90's when playing a Roman prostitute in A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum. Coupled with a Xenia Warrior Princess studded leather bra and gladiator skirt.

Those fecking straps slip and fall down every time you move, so you end up the Ancient Roman equivalent of Nora Batty... I put up with them for the dress rehearsal and then thank God the director agreed I could swap them for boots...
