Family movie Recommendations

Posting for traffic but hoping this will be helpful to others...

Trying to find family movies that appeal to everyone is proving tricky. There’s me, DH, DD (16) and DS (13).

Other than Harry Potter DD doesn’t like fantasy films. DS can’t bear a Rom com (although did like Just Go With It).

We’ve watched and enjoyed in the last couple of weeks:

Castaway
Happy Gilmore
Forrest Gump
Truman Show

Historically we’ve watched and enjoyed movies like Big, Mrs Doubtfire, Cool Runnings, the new Jumanji (not seen the second one)

So please hit me with your recommendations and thanks so much in advance Smile

QuestaVecchiaCasa · 13/05/2020 15:51

Bit left field but my kids (when they were a similar age) liked Jean de Florette and Manon des Sources.

FanSaBhaile · 13/05/2020 15:52

I've two teenagers, and we've found common ground watching Ocean's 11 (and the not quite so good sequels!)
Anything with George Clooney is a winner in my book😍

zscaler · 13/05/2020 15:54

Moonrise Kingdom

Hot Fuzz (maybe inappropriate for 13yo - up to you!)

Indiana Jones

National Treasure

The Da Vinci Code

The Martian (highly recommend)

Chef (such a feel good film)

ApocalypseNowt · 13/05/2020 15:54

Jaws

Dieu · 13/05/2020 16:19

Jaws is definitely a good shout! But only the first one, obviously.

Windyatthebeach · 13/05/2020 16:23

The Meg - Jason Statham
Rampage - The Rock.
Both very popular in our house... For the teens - ahem - of course...

I loved Fighting With My Family.

GrouchyKiwi · 13/05/2020 17:57

Hunt for the Wilderpeople
Willow
The Rocketeer

Is 16 too old for Cheaper By The Dozen? I loved it in my 20s but will admit to watching it partially for Tom Welling.

@Seetheprettysnowdrops - not to mention Ben Willbond as Philip of Spain
