Is 28 young?

I turn 28 next week and it made me think that 30 isn't that far away. Would you class 28 as "young"? I'm not married yet, still single infact. I thought my life would look different to how it does.

Sure are. I thought I'd be married with a kid by 30. Didnt get married told I was 40 (and then had two kids). I think I was doing a masters at your age in a different field to my degree. I didn't end up changing careers but had an interesting experience exploring something completely different.
My sister didn't go to medical school until she was about your age. So you have plenty of time to do whatever. You could be 40 or 59 and do say the same. I'm 58, my kids still in school but I'm planning on taking some courses in things I'd like to get involved with. You re never too old if you keep growing.

Thanks everyone. I should add, I do already have two children. :) Had my first "young" 😂 at 22 and my second at 26

I’m about to turn 30 (in 90 minutes! Shock) and I still feel young. I’m married with a house but we don’t have kids so I feel like my responsibilities are limited. I think that helps with feeling young and carefree Grin

Life rarely takes the direction you planned so don’t worry about where you are right now. I’m about to embark on a total career change that I hadn’t even considered at 28! There’s plenty of time to find what you’re looking for.

Whats with all these threads with people asking if they are 'young' at the moment ? Confused

Obviously, it depends from where you are looking.
To a 6 yr old, you are clearly ancient.
To anyone retired you are barely a grown up yet.
what do you want people to say ???

BeetrootRocks · 11/05/2020 22:35

Happy birthday!

SquirtleSquad · 11/05/2020 22:37

I'm 26 and said to DH last week I was feeling old! We've had 3 kids in 3 years though and lockdown with them all has aged me GrinBlush

ParkheadParadise · 11/05/2020 22:37

At 28 I had a 13 year old dd

I felt old🤣🤣.

tangochutney · 11/05/2020 22:39

I think 28 is ‘younger’ nowadays then it was in the past if that makes any sense 😂

Like my parents generation would all be married with mortgages and 2+ kids by 28. I’m around that age and one of the only ones of my friends to have kids- many are still single or are just entering the phase of getting engaged and thinking about weddings/families.

GoatyGoatyMingeMinge · 12/05/2020 02:27

No, definitely not young

laura29121 · 12/05/2020 09:46

I wasn't young at 28, I had been married, home owning and mothering 2 kids and divorcing at that age, embarking on buying a home by myself before starting college and uni as a single parent.
I bet the op is still young though.

HappyDinosaur · 12/05/2020 10:10

Yes it's young.

Greengrassgravy · 12/05/2020 10:11

Depend on what you are referring to.

SomeoneInTheLaaaaaounge · 12/05/2020 10:12

It’s so young in fact, this sounds like a stealth boast.

Franticbutterfly · 12/05/2020 11:29

Yes. I'm 38 and feel I'm getting on now.

AndMyHairWillShineLikeTheSea · 12/05/2020 11:30

Young compared to 90, old compared to 2

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 12/05/2020 11:40

Yes.

mencken · 12/05/2020 11:48

this is like one of those 'is size 12 fat' posts.

Suggest less introspection.

DollyDoneMore · 12/05/2020 11:49

Young for what?
