My vagina stinks

timewarp6 · 11/05/2020 17:30

I can't live with it anymore, it smells horrible even 2 minutes after showering. I don't use soap down there and I don't have an STI. I have been treated for thrush and no change.

It's worse in the hot weather but I'm feeling self conscious all the time. I can smell it when I'm sitting down on the sofa. People say it's normal to have an odour but when does it become abnormal?

I can't even describe the smell - it isn't fishy but it's unpleasant Sad

Inside your inner labia? No I definitely would not use soap in there that's the entrance to the vagina.

This is what I’ve always took ‘not washing inside your vagina with soap’ to mean - because obviously people generally say vagina instead of vulva.
I didn’t think it was a necessary warning to not stick your soapy fingers up your fanny - do people generally try and do that? How would you rise?? To me that’s like giving out a warning saying it’s not necessary to stick your soapy fingers up your anus - which presumably would be much dirtier than your vagina... but presumably people don’t think to do that. Or do they?? Who knows, this thread has been quite illuminating Confused

Anyway let’s say - if pubes can grow there clean it, if not leave that bit alone.

Pinkblueberry · 12/05/2020 10:59
  • rinse, not rise
ducksback · 12/05/2020 11:00

And if you shave, still clean there with something stronger than water.

Baskininthegarden · 12/05/2020 11:01

scrubs with soap down to my knees

Pinkblueberry · 12/05/2020 11:02

*clean with soap - obviously you want to clean with water, not just leave it completely Grin I’ll leave it there now...

Bluesheep8 · 12/05/2020 11:05

Yes I've definitely been treated to the stench of a musky/clammy fanny when using a public loo.

Does that mean it smells of clams and not sea shells?! Confused

NellieDingle · 12/05/2020 11:07

The smell is probably old semen too, that reeks Hmm

AllsortsofAwkward · 12/05/2020 11:19

I'm gobsmacked at the person who said they can smell their vagina when they sit down, that's not normal and they should get checked out. I always use body wash around my vagina and bottom and never had problems. The only time I had thrush was when I was pregnant. Vaginas smelling meaty or sea shells is very odd.

UnabashedlyNeurodifferent · 12/05/2020 11:19

I can't understand how people leave or forget tampon in their vagina. Confused

  1. Don't you feel them in there? 2) Don't you have the little string dangling outside your vagina in your underwear... where you can see it....when you wee, wash, etc? 3) Don't you wipe after you pee? 4) Don't you change your underwear 5) Just really??
Itstimeslikethesewegiveandgive · 12/05/2020 11:22

This is why public hair helps

In what way? Does the general public’s hair smell better than your own- what do you do with it, take donations?

Rebelwithallthecause · 12/05/2020 11:23

I’ve never left one there but I certainly don’t feel it once it’s in properly

The strings should usually give it away though

midnightstar66 · 12/05/2020 11:23

In that case I definitely choose Midnight Jasmine.

Sadly you can't pick, and none are pleasant unless you are among those that enjoy meaty/musky.

PrimeroseHillAnnie · 12/05/2020 11:26

Call your doctor. The NHS is still available to treat everyday ailments..

Pinkblueberry · 12/05/2020 11:27

1) Don't you feel them in there?

Have you not seen the new tampax add?? Grin you’re not supposed to feel it, get it up there girls!!

RonObvious · 12/05/2020 11:28

This thread is a modern classic. Kudos to all who have participated.

Hoggleludo · 12/05/2020 11:30

For those saying left tampon

That could of only been a week or so

Any longer and she's of probably gone into toxic shock. It doesn't take very long at all.

UnabashedlyNeurodifferent · 12/05/2020 11:32

True, sometimes you don't feel the tampon especially when the flow is still heavy(ish) but I wonder at what point some people start forgetting to change their tampon regularly ( the last days probably?) and forgetting they've got something lodged in their vagina for days and weeks? Does the whole thing, string and all, get sucked inside for them to not even see it while 'interacting' with their pubic area (weeing, washing, etc) daily?

Mind boggled.

Hoggleludo · 12/05/2020 11:32

I'm shocked people wash their vaginas with body wash and all the other crap

You need water! That's it

Our vagina has its own cleaning system. Very much like our ear.

It has certain bacteria and flora that if you use soap and femfresh. You'll take that away. Cause all sorts

Water people. That's it.

AndMyHairWillShineLikeTheSea · 12/05/2020 11:34

@Hoggleludo has anyone actually said they wash their vagina with soap or body wash?

ducksback · 12/05/2020 11:36

Hoggle YES! Your VAGINA is self cleaning, Your VULVA is not. Wash properly FGS.

UnabashedlyNeurodifferent · 12/05/2020 11:37

It isn't the vagina (hole inside) that's washed with soap, it's the vulva (the outer area) and surrounding areas. Suds get there while showering anyway so one might as well do a proper wash.

Bubble bath liquid/Soapy water gets inside the vagina during baths too actually.

Always best to rinse out afterwards.

hamsterchump · 12/05/2020 11:37

OMG not ears now too! Do people not wash their ears (not rammed inside the hole obv) with soap either?! Have I been wasting soap on my auditory vulvas all this time?

ducksback · 12/05/2020 11:38

Always best to rinse out afterwards

What? Rinse out your vagina? What?

UnabashedlyNeurodifferent · 12/05/2020 11:43

Oh dear lord....not wash with soap. Rinse with water from shower head after a bath especially (because you HAVE got your lovely bubble bath soap residue in there) or feel free to leave it to self clean.

Or is water bad for the vagina too? Because it's self cleaning doesn't mean water must not touch it.

Hoggleludo · 12/05/2020 11:45

@AndMyHairWillShineLikeTheSea
