There is a FB group for my DD8's school class parent's. I'd say around half of the mum's (including me) are in the group but the group is massively dominated by 6/7 mums who are all friends and frequently make plans with each other. Anybody else who posts or asks a question often gets ignored but that's beside the point.

One particular mum, will call her L, lives on a huge farm with lots of land and a big cottage. I know this as DD went to a whole class party there last year.

Now, naturally since Covid-19 shut the school the FB group has gone silent but today L posted pictures of her DD along with the DC of some of the other people in the group saying what a lovely time the children had having a campout on their farmland on Saturday night. From what I gather, she invited around 6 DC and they turned up. There's pictures of them all eating in the house, playing on the fields (in close proximity) and having a campfire with tents etc.

A close friend of mine recently lost her lovely mum to Covid-19 so I saw red and wrote quite a long-winded rant calling them selfish and stating how they are putting their DC in danger. Now I'm not a curtain twitcher and certainly don't give a flying fuck about Carol down the road walking her dog 3 times a day as an excuse to get out, but this seemed to be really taking the piss. Logged off to have a bath and calm down. Log on again just a few minutes ago to see that I've been removed from the group and blocked by L.

Now I'm dreading DD going back to school and having to face them in the playground. Did I overreact? Surely I didn't? It just doesn't half piss me off that I'm following lockdown in a tiny fucking terrace with 2 primary aged kids, a toddler and a garden the size of a bath, and yet these people with all of their lovely land and money can't even adhere to the restrictions slightly.

Disgusts me, thinking the rules don't apply to them.

People who don't follow the rules know the rules apply to them, they just choose to break them. I think you have a bit of a chip on your shoulder regarding the differences in financial circumstances

I think you were right but I probably wouldn’t have ranted on FB. If they won’t listen to the government they’re not going to listen to you.

Firstly, she is a bitch, posting up public pictures to a group where only some kids were selected and others weren't. What a horrible thing to do.
Secondly, she has removed u from a group of mothers, further exclusion.
Lastly, if she causes problems for u( and essentially your daughter), I'm. September you will u will have grounds for bullying and I would then seek school advice.
Yes, you were right but fb group wasn't the pace to vent it. But what's done is dome and u need to own. Hold your head up high and smile at every one of those mothers in September and go chat to some of the quieter mums, she knows she is on the wrong so don't act like you hav done anything wrong.

Look at it another way . Do you really want to socialise with this woman anyway ? There will be other mothers with children for yours to socialise with who are more responsible. If she cots your daughter out of future class get together sit will show what she’s really like . You’ve adopted the moral high ground can often be a lonely place but there will be others on the FB Group who agree with you and applaud you for it so relax and don’t worry too much about what will happen when the children return to school x

Well, calling them out on FB was not going to end well.

But you were right, they were extremely irresponsible. When you see them in the playground just shrug and reiterate that what they were doing was dangerous. And fuck em, basically.

To me it does sound like your jealous of their land and money. Not of their meet up. It sounds like you don’t like them but YES they were massively unreasonable but in the same vein you aren’t the police/government you shouldn’t have said anything you have to see these women for years. Also why is it up to these 7 women to reply if someone else asks something in the group? I assume there are 30parents in the group it’s not just the 7 women’s fault if someone posts and it’s ignored. So although morally you were right you lost the high ground by publicly saying something.

Not only were they unreasonable having the party, they also posted about it afterwards! You are not in the wrong.

But if it's giving you sleepless nights you could always send them a message apologising for the way you communicated and explain that someone close to you recently passed away from COVID. This may help them understand where you were coming from, and help when you're back at the school gates.

Queen Bee and her cling-ons are idiots, reckless idiots at that. What they have done WILL have an impact in some way on others as they've mixed so many household and now the children will not understand social distancing and why it's so important.

This publicity stunt was nothing more than a popularity game for her. Being the saviour amongst other families by offering this fun event at such a wonderful setting. Bunch of twats. People are dying by the thousands ffs.

They should all be fined.
