Milktray

I'm with you... remember to wear you're hard hat when you post as they're all Tory hating lefties on this site...
😂😂😂

SusieOwl4 · 10/05/2020 19:34

Yes I don’t get why people don’t understand . We are still in the grip of this . They are doing their best to keep the economy going whilst still minimising risk . Because the risk is still there .

Mumthedogsbeensick · 10/05/2020 19:34

@Piper1879 same here. I don't understand how I can't see family and friends but I'm okay to go in a small airless room with a stranger and pre screen them then send them in to see the optometrist who has to spend even longer with them. I just wish my employer kept us all up to date. They made sure they had all our contact details before furlough then nothing.

BubblyBarbara · 10/05/2020 19:35

If you can drive wherever you like and go to the beach now I’m going to Whitby for the whole day on Wednesday.

buildingbridge · 10/05/2020 19:35

Could my 17 year old theoretically go to the park on Wednesday and meet friends, while maintaining the 2-3m distance between them? Would that be allowed?

He said people from your own household. So that is a no. If he happens to see his friends in the park then he cannot go near them at all.

Cantbelievethebias · 10/05/2020 19:35

Lizzie

You obviously struggled to understand a very clear message. Rewind it and put it on slow motion... perhaps then you'll understand...
👍👍👍

Lemonblast · 10/05/2020 19:35

Are hair salons counted as construction or manufacturing then ?
Hmm

Smellbellina · 10/05/2020 19:35

he didn’t say ‘go to work tomorrow’ he said construction workers and manufacturing workers should prepare to return to work with appropriate social distancing measures whilst at work and on their commute

larrygrylls · 10/05/2020 19:35

Can gyms reopen if they can enforce social distancing? And tennis courts?

Elmerrrrrrrr · 10/05/2020 19:36

changemynamechangemynamewhen

Did you listen to the speech? He said nothing about nurseries. He specifically said primary schools from reception onwards.

Marsalimay · 10/05/2020 19:36

So I can go have a picnic in the park with my friends and dc as long as were both 2 meters away from each other and the rest of the world whose gone there now?

I didn't hear that. I heard that you can only be in household groups (this is what he said when he talked about doing sport).

TabbyMumz · 10/05/2020 19:36

"People can drive to North Wales all they bloody well like, the police will send them packing. They've been doing it for weeks and if they slip through the net then the locals will tell them in no uncertain terms to fuck off home."

Actually, there arent that many police about and you easily drive around without being stopped...if you avoid the hotspots of course.

pandarific · 10/05/2020 19:36

She's not said anything about Childminder's and nurseries has he?! Getting ds to sleep, missed it!

Greenpop21 · 10/05/2020 19:36

Quite clear-
From Wednesday you can go outside, with your household only, as many times as you like- 2m distance from others.

dementedma · 10/05/2020 19:36

I thought he spoke clearly actually. I don’t know what so many people are struggling to understand the phrase “ be alert”. It’s not really that difficult a concept.

Rayn · 10/05/2020 19:36

The problem with driving to places such as the beach is that the locals won't want you!

Whattheduck · 10/05/2020 19:37

I don’t understand why people are confused about what he said

butterpuffed · 10/05/2020 19:37

It's hard to understand why people are confused when it was clear

Jeez the people asking 'when can we do this' 'when can we do that'. If he hasn't said so we can't do it YET

Focusanddetermination · 10/05/2020 19:37

Biggest load of vague waffle I've heard in a long time.

Conflicting stuff like definitely go back to work if you're in manufacturing / construction but don't use public transport.. So what are you supposed to do if you don't have a car and transport services are thin on the ground and now crammed full of others who don't have a car?

No mention of childcare and how you're supposed to return to work if you don't have any.

As for schools, I can't see the unions or parents accepting reception and year 1 back in 3 weeks time. How the hell do you socially distance 5 and 6 year olds? Or stop them bringing cv home?

pandarific · 10/05/2020 19:37

For fucks fucking sake, what about pre-schoolers?!

Bigoldwimp · 10/05/2020 19:37

@DivisionBelles they can’t cover every scenario in a speech but some places of hospitality, which may include campsites hotels etc may be opening in July if infections go down

Devlesko · 10/05/2020 19:37

I didn't hear him mention nurseries either, just rec, y6 , and y10 should see teacher before holidays.
I can't see all this happening as the "R" will probably go back up to 1, before long. It's only just under now.

SusieOwl4 · 10/05/2020 19:37

@OpthalmosVerde

It was only the media that said there was going to be a change , they always said it was setting out the road map and the criteria for change which is what he did .

Baby steps .

Michelleoftheresistance · 10/05/2020 19:37

Nothing about seeing loved ones - does 'you can drive somewhere' for exercise mean you can drive to somewhere loved ones are and exercise socially distanced from them? How far? Are we saying drive two hours to family or across town to a park?

What additional services in hospitals are going to be reopened with their capacity returning?

What about childcare? Preschools, nurseries?

Have schools been told June 1st or is this their first hearing of it? I'll be interested to see what the suggestions are tomorrow for how to socially distance four to five year olds.

MasakaBuzz · 10/05/2020 19:37

I thought it was okay. Much as I am struggling with Lockdown and want the whole thing to disappear as soon as possible, I recognise we can’t yet.

Basically he has given a few tiny changes with the promise of more in the future, if we are sensible. It really is up to us.

For me there are not going to be any real changes. I will continue to walk my dog twice a day, as I have been doing. I will remain confined to my small town. I will continue to visit a friend every couple of weeks, on a sunny day, when we can sit two metres apart in the garden.

If people are stupid about it, then the fines are going to increase.

It’s depressing, not because of the politicians, but because of the virus.

Anyone who thinks Corbyn and Abbott would have done any better is completely deluded.
