The biggest lockdown flouting you’ve seen

Ok so I do live backing onto several fields and a football pitch... bit so far I’ve seen...

A full on footie match with a group watching A group of adults of around 20, teams wearing bibs etc - probably around 20people in total.

A group of teenagers having... a boxing match (lovely bit of contact there).

Aibu to ask if anyone has seen anything quite as blatantly flouting the rules?

Neighbour has got their (I presume father and brother) around to help in the garden. Doesn’t really bother me though, if they’re happy to accept the risks, up to them.

Ineedaduvetday · 10/05/2020 13:45

Just people in the supermarket, it's a free for all.

yellowbrickwhorl · 10/05/2020 13:46

I've been reported for "looking like a tourist" What do the locals look like down your way?

I saw a fb post from a school mum today deriding any idea of lockdown being eased and warning of a second wave etc. Fine. However, she had 3 friends over on Friday. They all sat spread out in the driveway drinking wine together while their 10 children played in the paddling pool together. It's not even the flouting that irks me, it's the hypocrisy.

MouthBreathingRage · 10/05/2020 13:46

@MarieIVanArkleStinks, so what do you suggest? We totally give up on social distancing? As for the Costa Boris thing, it's ridiculous. How on earth is buying a takeaway coffee some silent signal that our government wants us to give up on social distancing?

yearinyearout · 10/05/2020 13:48

Photos of friends neighbours having a bbq yesterday with friends from several different households. The host then proceeded to post the meme on fb about lockdown restrictions just meaning there's a bed for you in ICU. My flabber was gasted.

JoanJettPack · 10/05/2020 13:49

Next door had a house party on Friday. They have a "bar" at the end of their garden (it's a shed with a few cans in it) and I saw 4 grown men in there hitting a punch bag and having a good old bond. Lady next door neighbour's mum and step dad were also present, in the house along with a family from down the street and a couple of other party goers who rocked up around 11ish and stayed over. There were loads of people from the street party popping in and out for a beer and a few nibbles.

Yes, I was being nosy. If I had any popcorn in, I would have definitely been eating it.

It's pretty funny that some people are saying stuff like 'I always thought they were quite intelligent,' as though these people are suddenly deserving of being labelled as 'dimwits' or whatever. Just because people aren't doing things exactly the same as you, doesn't make them any less intelligent...

Pinkyyy · 10/05/2020 13:50

Can't say I blame people to be honest. I'm so sick of seeing my own house.

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 10/05/2020 13:51

'so what do you suggest? We totally give up on social distancing?'

When passing other people out of doors? Yep.

Becca19962014 · 10/05/2020 13:53

yellowbrick I've only lived here 25 years. That's probably it!

vodkaredbullgirl · 10/05/2020 13:55

No, only what i see on the news.

Angel2702 · 10/05/2020 13:55

My neighbours who seem to be running a drop in centre with ten people crowded round their garden table all day every day, different people every day.

Group of 16 regularly playing basketball in the with spectators bringing their own deck chairs to watch.

OneandTwenty · 10/05/2020 13:56

People are stupid and selfish, it's not new.

The government has decided that the best way to deal with things was to issue guidelines, instead of imposing a strict lockdown and fining people.

As always, people think they are clever because they invent their own rules. Technically, they can. There's no fine - or next to no fine. You know they are stupid, nothing you can do to change that.

ViciousJackdaw · 10/05/2020 13:56

What is the beginning of the thread with, "OK so", all about?

Lockdown really is getting to some people isn't it...

yearinyearout · 10/05/2020 13:56

@exLtEveDallas I'd forgotten about that post, it's close to me and someone died there last year. People are twats for going there at all.

changemynamechangemynamewhen · 10/05/2020 13:57

What does it matter about peooke flouting the rules. Did any of them get ill? Need hospitalisation? No? Is the nhs over capacity? No?

What a pathetic response. They may not get ill with coronavirus but could pass it to someone who does. Someone with diabetes or asthma who may just die but oh well what's the issue here?

EmmaGellerGreen · 10/05/2020 13:59

I’ve seen an unbelievable rant on Facebook. Person drove about 40 miles to visit her dad and go for a walk with him. Moaning about people not adequately social distancing. Baffling.

BeltaneBride · 10/05/2020 14:00

@Becca19962014
Lol at being accused of looking like a tourist!!!
Did you have your trouser legs rolled up and a knotted hanky on your head?😀

CrowdedHouseinQuarantine · 10/05/2020 14:09

Group of lads in the park, sitting, spitting, is what I have personally seen.

MehMehMeow · 10/05/2020 14:09

The neighbours to the left and the right of us have been having getogethers every day. Yesterday was a birthday party. Frequent groups of teenagers on the green most days until late at night. Last week there was a game of hide and seek until nearly midnight. One of the neighbours walking his dog interrupted a young couple getting amorous on the green last night.

Becca19962014 · 10/05/2020 14:18

beltane nah, round here that'd pass as local Wink

PubsClubsMinistryOfSound · 10/05/2020 14:24

Does seeing it on TV count? If so, that fucking performance on London Bridge.

Poppinjay · 10/05/2020 14:25

A couple of teenagers all over each other in the park.

I do live in a rural area though. Maybe they're from the same household?

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I think we may live in the same village @nevermorelenore.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 10/05/2020 14:29

My neighbours have had streams of people in and out, bonfires in the garden every night surrounded by people, street parties and bbqs and then to top it off. They started a fight so our road got shut off, we had 6 police cars, ambulances and their crews all coming in and out of the houses, the one involved in the fight to start off with has publicly declared any times he's had a positive C19 test and breathing troubles (they've had a few ambulances out) so I'm sure he's passed that around to a few.
