Far too outing to say who I work for but yes, not a good idea Smile

Properbobbins · 07/05/2020 22:09

We’ve got one booked first week of June as it’s still half term for us and I very much doubt it will happen. Gutted as it was going to be a nice break for everyone after a crap 12 months but even if we could possibly use the accommodation it doesn’t look like bars, restaurants or leisure facilities will be open so not really much point (for us anyway) There’s always next year.

inwood · 07/05/2020 22:09

It won't happen. I'm hoping ours will go ahead end August.

MerryDeath · 07/05/2020 22:28

@UserFriendly14 does it begin with a B and end with Son Wink

OP posts:
Sparklesocks · 07/05/2020 22:32

I think it’s hugely unlikely, even if by some small miracle it did happen I can’t imagine you’d fully enjoy it anyway

KKSlider · 07/05/2020 22:33

We have one booked for the second week of July at the begins with B-ends with S place, they're currently closed up until 7th June and I'm not holding out any hope that they will have reopened by July as there is no way they could carry out the required social distancing measures or safely operate most of the entertainment.

Proudpeacock · 07/05/2020 22:34

We have a 2 UK holidays booked - 1 in June which I reckon has a 10% chance of going ahead and 1 for mid August which I am cautiously optimistic about.

curdsandwhey · 07/05/2020 23:16

I don't think it's a good idea.

Hugglespuffed · 07/05/2020 23:18

@MerryDeath I'm racking my brain trying to work out what starts with B and ends with Son!?

I have a trip planned to uk holiday park in June, I hope it gets cancelled to be honest. Some family think it will go ahead and I don't want to be the party pooper and say I'm not going either way!

IFancyANamechange · 07/05/2020 23:21

@Hugglespuft

Boris Johnson?

GolfForBrains · 07/05/2020 23:23

(I'm guessing that @MerryDeath's guess has "oris John" in the middle.)

Boredsheep · 07/05/2020 23:26

I guessed Branson Blush

wizzler · 07/05/2020 23:27

Me too Boredsheep

crustycrab · 07/05/2020 23:29

@UserFriendly14 is my holiday abroad (USA) going to be cancelled mid July? Please say yes!

UserFriendly14 · 07/05/2020 23:32

Oop sorry to get any hopes up but no it’s not BJ or any Gov department! Just travel industry.

Fluffybutter · 08/05/2020 00:03

I hate those that come on and are straight away like “nope, holidays will be cancelled forever” but sadly June is definitely out ,you don’t need to work in the government or travel industry to know that .
We are booked with Virgin for August and as much as I’d love to still go I know it won’t be the same kind of holiday.
Hoping they’ll let us move it to next year without charging us tons more

Bluewarbler27 · 08/05/2020 00:08

We have a caravan in a seasonal pitch. No one expects it to re-open this season.

Hugglespuffed · 08/05/2020 08:52

That's interesting @Bluewarbler27
My parents have site their caravan in the same place and they think they will get there this season (caravan season ends around beginning october for them)

Kez0777 · 08/05/2020 08:56

We are booked to go to centre parcs in June,
I'm expecting it to be cancelled but it's difficult to know when to re book for, beginning of September is cheaper but is it likely to be ok to go then! Or other option is November which would cost more on an already over priced weekend away!

Dodgytrousers · 08/05/2020 08:58

I doubt it.

We've one booked at the end of August and I am doubting that'll go ahead.

OneForMeToo · 08/05/2020 09:00

I’d expect the first holidays to reopen would be caravan types as in tourers as they have everything they need inside and nobody else goes in after them since it’s their caravan.

Isawamagpie · 08/05/2020 09:02

does anyone think that travel to Greece in July will be possible?
My DS is due to fly out for a wedding and I'm really not comfortable with it, so I'm hoping it will be cancelled.

Also peacemaking to see what people say about uk holidays, we are desperate to get to a beach later in the year.

Hugglespuffed · 08/05/2020 09:10

No I don't @Isawamagpie
My friend's wedding in greece in August has been moved to next year. I can't see them wanting tourists this summer.
I'm surprised the wedding he is going to haven't changed the date!

Popcat120 · 08/05/2020 09:22

We've got a week booked in Norfolk first week of June.
We couldn't afford to go abroad this year so was really looking forward to this break
I'm not expecting it to happen ☹️
Haven't heard from the Company yet but its unlikely its going ahead.

hopeishere · 08/05/2020 09:31

Following with interest! Was tentatively thinking of booking a cottage for August.
