Just that really. It must be so hard being the Health Secretary during this difficult time. I feel so sorry for him.

He has worked extremely hard, he looks completely knackered. I hope someone tells him to take a few days off, get some sleep, play with the kids and sit in the sun.

He has huge responsibilities. I hope others will take over for a bit now, it can't have been easy managing this nightmare.

LellyMcKelly · 07/05/2020 07:07

It’s because he’s completely out of his depth. The government, by all criteria, have royally fucked this up, The buck stops with him and Johnson.

rosie1959 · 07/05/2020 07:22

Totally agree Biscuit 0110
Easy to be a keyboard warrior and dish out blame What government minister would have experience in this I honestly believe he has done his best and the pressure must be horrendous
I was thinking last night why we have had so many deaths Yes testing PPE etc etc but is there something else . Once people are in hospital why such large death rates I am confident our Drs are on par with any other countries So is it to do with something else .

Tellmetruth4 · 07/05/2020 07:23

Genuinely chuckling at the attempts to drag Starmer, the ‘left’ and even Caroline Flacks twee #BeKind bollocks into this! Waiting for George Soros, Bill Gates and Megan Markle to make an appearance in these deflection attempts next.

Some people are so rabidly partisan that they could be coughing up their guts in ICU after having been told their whole family had already died of Covid-19 and they would still wilfully not see any negligence in how the government have handled this. It’s as if they’ve invested so much effort and time supporting these people that it’s too emotionally painful to admit they were wrong about them so they can’t.

Sertchgi123 · 07/05/2020 07:37

It’s so easy to heckle from the sidelines and be an armchair expert. I genuinely feel some sympathy, for the people trying to deal with this god awful situation.

I am actually a floating voter, so no effort invested on my part. I just think it’s so easy to critique those trying their best to manage the situation.

OkMaybeNot · 07/05/2020 07:38

Oh no, nevermind.

lovelyupnorth · 07/05/2020 07:39

Hopefully Hancock’s getting ready for prison food.

He’s a liar and deserves everything he gets

SudokuBook · 07/05/2020 07:40

This. Still the people have got what they voted for, so I hope anyone who voted Tory doesn’t have the audacity to complain.

rosie1959 · 07/05/2020 07:53

So when everyone voted conservative they knew all about this virus and of course if labour had been in charge none of this would have happened

He getting found out in public. This whole Cabinet is. They only reason they are in Cabinet is because all the competent Tories were driven off. And they were chosen to do the job by someone who never thought he'd need to rely on them to carry a load. Because all his life he's been able to bullshit his way out of trouble.

EdwinaMay · 07/05/2020 08:02

Gawd this is like a Brexit thread.
Whinging lefties berating everyone and everything when in fact the public in the most recent poll state they think the Gov are going a good job

TheFuckingDogs · 07/05/2020 08:05

He’s definitely the fall guy.

BGD2012 · 07/05/2020 08:05

Starmer doesn't come from a privileged background and got into Oxford on the back of a first class degree from Leeds. Corbyns background is far more privileged.

bellinisurge · 07/05/2020 08:06

How is the highest death rate in Europe "a good job". And I'm not in the left. This isn't political. Catch yourself on.

SudokuBook · 07/05/2020 08:06

They still got what they voted for. They voted for a shower of incompetent fuckwits, and it’s exactly what they got. No we didn’t know about the virus then, but many people voted for “good old Boris” and “getting Brexit done”. Anyone with half a brain can see that Boris and his merry band are lazy and incompetent. All people cared about was sodding Brexit.

And when we are sitting with one of the worst death tolls it’s hard to imagine how labour could possibly have been any worse.

If you voted Tory, you voted for incompetence and this is what you got. At least own it and accept that some of this mess is on you.

Oblomov20 · 07/05/2020 08:09

I laughed when he said 100,000 tests, weeks ago. Aren't we still only at 30,000?

He's probably just speechless when Boris made a tit of himself by announcing 200,000

SudokuBook · 07/05/2020 08:09

Boris and co are lucky this happened at the beginning of their term. A nice long time for people to hopefully forget this fuck up and vote for them again.

And I’m not a labour supporter either

If Labour has been in charge Corbyn would still be their leader, and no I don't think that he would have been nearly so blasé about PPE to protect health and care workers for one thing.
And I doubt he would have been so arrogant to continue shaking hands against all guidance not to.

Sertchgi123 · 07/05/2020 08:41

It’s so clever second guessing what might have happened, so clever 😂

It’s fine to bash a conservative but mention a Labour leader might be posh and it’s an unsupported attack.

Perfectly fine to attack a Labour leader when they deserve it. But attacking Starmer for being posh was simply weird.
