Which celebs have made arses of themselves in their quest to entertain /crave attention

I know that their living depends on staying relevant but these are challenging times for such self indulgence when people have more pressing issues. But some celebs who are normally not massively annoying, are making reputation destroying SM entries.
So far, The usually wonderful Ellen has peed off a lot of people, Michael Buble, Ollie Muirs(???), Madonna and loads more.
Any others making your cringe gland rupture?

I know I am part of the problem and this is not important but I am bored.

On Jason Mamfords rejection letter it says that he was unsuccessful as he applied after the closing date, the position had already been filler. He'd no intention of working in Tescos just wants to be seen as the good guy when we all know he's a cheating bellend.

WrathofFaeKIopp · 06/05/2020 08:59

Sophie Ellis Bexter
Love that woman, she has won me over totally, so down to earth.

Mammyloveswine · 06/05/2020 09:00

@Futurenostalgia it's really sad because her instagram is so filtered and photoshopped too! She's clearly modelling herself on Kim kardashian.

StrikeItLuckyShuffle · 06/05/2020 09:00

Lauren Goodger
The constant stream of photoshopped photos & paid for edited pics for the papers always wearing gym gear but never exercising just posing by bins outside her house.

We have seen the unedited pics she’s not fooling anyone ! 😆

ChicChicChicChiclana · 06/05/2020 09:01

I am completely untroubled by annoying "celebrities". I'm not interested in any of them so I don't follow anyone on Instagram or read the red tops. It's really really easy to avoid being irritated by attention-seeking behaviour in people you don't have to seek out.

lynsey91 · 06/05/2020 09:02

Christine McGuiness annoys me. She is only known because she is married to Paddy. Bleating about her children. Was she made to have children?

I hate the song "Imagine" so was never going to like the video. Most of them are shit singers although in a way it made me feel good because so am I.

ILuvQuarintinis · 06/05/2020 09:05

Lizzie Cundy , Myleene Klass and everyone on any reality show Grin and all of those women posing in their underwear and esp Jezy from Little Mix who went on and on about bullying and is now posing up a storm everyday with her tits hanging out .

Tappering · 06/05/2020 09:08

Sam Smith is an insufferable prick. Was prior to lockdown - will most likely continue to be as and when things go back to normal.

Jameela Jamil disappeared up her own backside ages ago. Card carrying member of the Wokerati on Twitter. Shame as I liked her and thought she was a good actress in The Good Place

Lauren Goodger is turning into a walking disaster. Every outing is staged for pap shots in a bid to try and earn money and stay relevant, and avoid having to go the full hog via Only Fans as others have ended up doing. Really sad but nobody close to her seems to want to stage an intervention.

LaurelHedgeFund · 06/05/2020 09:11

Silly Sausage

James Martin was on This Morning a few weeks ago and made a complete arse of himself. I watched in disbelief as he told us to use semolina flour, specialist cheese and tin tomatoes from Italy that you can get online, and if you don't have a wood fired pizza oven, you can buy a pizza stone off the internet.

Honestly, it was a joke. This guy is living on a different planet.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 06/05/2020 09:12

The Imagine thing was so cringey, especially "imagine no possessions" - you'd think they couldn't manage an attitude more tone deaf than their singing, but there we all were. Sam Smith, can "they" just go away now please? Jameela needs a 12 step program of some kind. It'd be easier to count the celebs who have said anything about themselves and Covid without being cringey. I nominate Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, who're allowed to talk about it since they actually had it and who didn't try to act like they were uniquely unfortunate, and Diego Luna, whose kids had the virus and who still managed to come across as a normal person by just being happy they were over it and able to come home.

overnightangel · 06/05/2020 09:15

“Chris O'Dowd would tuck into a bag of justin bieber's vomit if he thought it would get him into Hollywood”

Totally agree. Him and his wife are CRINGEWORTHY.

That one from Little Mix posing half naked, isn’t she the one who was moaning about people posting negative stuff about how she looks on the internet?
She clearly isn’t very bright is she 🤦🏻‍♀️

MaggieTheFrog · 06/05/2020 09:16

Complete reverse but I am Loving Daisy May Cooper videos on Instagram 😍

FreakStar · 06/05/2020 09:24

Sam Smith! They is unbearable!

HermioneWeasley · 06/05/2020 09:25

All the ones mentioned here. Watching them melt down without their usual attention has been fascinating.

In the “good guys” camp - Miles Hunt from the Wonderstuff has been doing a fortnightly acoustic gig from his house and it’s been perfect. Opened the first one with “everything is not OK” which made me cry.

Chillipeanuts · 06/05/2020 09:30

Other than Madonna, I don’t know who most of these people are. Showing my age 😊

Bluetonic41 · 06/05/2020 09:31

'Wonderful Ellen'???!!! Have you not read the hundreds and hundreds of posts about how vile she really is?

YourVagesty · 06/05/2020 09:32

Re: Hugh Bonneville Canterbury, I remember that before the super injunction was leaked, the press was suddenly full of stories about 'committed family man Hugh Bonneville'.

They were clearly taking the piss/heaping on the pressure. So it gave me a bit of a tip off that when there's a super injunction story in the news, look for the stories about the person that they don't usually talk about in the press, that they are being unusually nice about.

feelingverylazytoday · 06/05/2020 09:35

I don't pay too much attention to celebs, but it's been hard not to notice Madonna, Sam Smith, Evangeline Lilly, David Geffen, and the 'Imagine' mob being twats.
Lets not forget some celebrities have stepped up to the plate though, Rihanna is a shining example, but I'm sure there are many more.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 06/05/2020 09:37

Yes, props to Rihanna for giving money/supplies rather than bum photos on Instagram.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 06/05/2020 09:39

Also I didn't even know this until recently because there wasn't much fanfare about it, but Daily Show host Trevor Noah is actually paying his furloughed staff himself rather than asking for government money to do it, so sort of the anti Victoria Beckham (but with a lot less money than the Beckhams have to throw around if they cared enough to).

emilybrontescorsett · 06/05/2020 09:40

I'm loving the Grayson Perry programmes. The absolute star of the show is Kevin the cat.
I'm having visions of him at the potters wheel throwing out a few clay pots of his own.

PhilSwagielka · 06/05/2020 09:42

Everyone in that stupid Imagine video.

On the plus side, Theo Walcott and Lucas Digne reading kids' stories is kind of sweet.

BlancheDuBlah · 06/05/2020 09:44

I remember shortly after seeing Jesy N's documentary getting nearly lynched on a thread for saying I thought she was being hypocritical with her message, I.e. telling young girls to be happy in themselves while she can barely speak through the amount of lip filler, trowelled on make up and constant desperation for attention through social media.

It's quite sad.

AngeloMysterioso · 06/05/2020 09:46

Jesy Nelson. Putting on a full face of make up, lashes and a wig every day just for her friend to take a pic of her standing around her house in some godawful outfit for Instagram...

thecatsthecats · 06/05/2020 09:47

I think that entertainers doing their usual form of entertainment is fine - their working lives have been affected too, they have a following for that reason already.

I'll also happily give a pass to people sharing the volunteering work they're doing. I don't buy into the idea that charity and volunteering is only noble if it's done secretly. (lovely and all that if it is done privately, but bottom line, if they're helping, they're helping).

But TikTok challenges, opinion spouting, platforming, dressing up, attention seeking - bore off. I've never been interested in that sort of thing, but it seems even more pathetic these days.
