I know that their living depends on staying relevant but these are challenging times for such self indulgence when people have more pressing issues. But some celebs who are normally not massively annoying, are making reputation destroying SM entries.
So far, The usually wonderful Ellen has peed off a lot of people, Michael Buble, Ollie Muirs(???), Madonna and loads more.
Any others making your cringe gland rupture?

I used to love Gary Barlow, but he's well and truly icky now. His expressions on those insta videos make me want to turn inside out. I wasn't impressed when he turned up on the virtual pub quiz last week!

The thing is though, if some 'celebrity' was just quietly helping others, volunteering or donating, we wouldn't really know about it would we? Call me cynical but amazing how many of these types seem to have a photographer/ journalist at hand. I think for the most part they should keep quiet and give money which will really help those who really need it.

Adding Oprah to my list for her telling the world she is donating $10 million to various different funds for Covid relief. Great $10 million is a lot of money but she has a net worth of a conservative estimate of $2.6 billon but more likely $4 billon and earns $10 dollars a second each and every day wake or asleep. It is like me finding some lose change down the back of my sofa and popping it into the collection box at my local Tesco whilst calling the press to film it.

I never understand arguments like this. Regardless of whether it’s small change to Oprah Winfrey, $10m is $10m, whoever donates it. If the donor has ‘only’ $11m to start with, it’s obviously a far more significant gesture on their part, but to be blunt, that makes bugger all difference to the charity. That $10m isn’t suddenly worth twice as much when it comes to sourcing food, providing shelter, shipping medical supplies etc. just because it was a bigger sacrifice for the donor. Celebrity dollars aren’t worth less to charities because the celebrity had plenty more of them to start with.

It doesn’t matter if it’s loose change to her in relative terms. $10m will always be worth $10m - which is why the comparison with your pennies down the sofa makes no sense.

I did find filming the breakdown utterly cringe. I have MH problems too and I have been a bit weepy a couple of times during the coronavirus crisis, but no way in hell would I photograph myself crying. And not just because I look hideous.

Swap places with me Sam, a woman, home schooling 2 kids, working, doing chores and shopping for my ageing parents - falling to me, a woman. Funny how society knows what sex I am, especially during lockdown.
