Which celebs have made arses of themselves in their quest to entertain /crave attention

I know that their living depends on staying relevant but these are challenging times for such self indulgence when people have more pressing issues. But some celebs who are normally not massively annoying, are making reputation destroying SM entries.
So far, The usually wonderful Ellen has peed off a lot of people, Michael Buble, Ollie Muirs(???), Madonna and loads more.
Any others making your cringe gland rupture?

I know I am part of the problem and this is not important but I am bored.

Paddy McGuiness looks like the kind of guy who walks around all the time with a raging hard-on, and farts in bed, all the while being very proud of it.
That kind of sleazy, uncouth common and juvenile man.

Dieu · 07/05/2020 08:57

Funny how THE same names are coming up time and time again. There can be no doubt that certain celebs are attention seeking pains in the arse.

russetbella1000 · 07/05/2020 08:59

I know for a fact that Katherine Jenkins charges a very pretty penny for ‘charitable’ appearances.

Of course this is no doubt the same with all of them but the contrast in what/who they are and what people are led to believe annoys me.

I’d be fine if she like others was honest, you know I’m doing this charity thing and it’s a bloody good deal for me 🤪

Sparklingbrook · 07/05/2020 09:01

I have just watched a podcast with Michael Douglas (celeb hairdresser) and Davina. I really enjoyed it and she usually drives me nuts. Confused

WotnoPasta · 07/05/2020 09:25

Ha nothing to add - agree with so many Jack Munroe, Sam Smith etc.
Love Joe Lycett and his fucking vegetables.

Mrsjayy · 07/05/2020 11:42

Sam Smith takes the actual piss with his theatrical breakdowns he just comes across as an overindulged dramatic brat Sam reminds me of Gemma Collins

Sparklingbrook · 07/05/2020 11:44

How does Sam Smith expect everybody in the universe to know to not use ‘he’ or ‘him’ etc?Confused

I can’t work Gemma Collins our. I wonder if she is a character like Keith Lemon because nobody would be like that for real.

PhilSwagielka · 07/05/2020 12:28

@russetbella1000 Oh G-d, Katherine Jenkins. The director of a choir my mum used to be in called Jenkins the Barbie of Seville. She really hated her, can't remember why.

Minecrafting · 07/05/2020 12:30

Gal Gadot and all the other rich "celebrities" in her cringey "Imagine" sing-a-long.

Iamthewombat · 07/05/2020 12:31

I have often wondered whether one day a Shakespearean actress, RADA trained, will burst out of the Gemma Collins suit one day shouting, “FOOLED YA!” (Or equivalent, in iambic pentameter)

Sparklingbrook · 07/05/2020 12:40

I would like that @Iamthewombat as it would mean that The GC’ doesn’t really exist as how can anyone be that awful?

FabulouslyElegantTits · 07/05/2020 12:52

Yep, I reckon 'the GC' is a 'joke character aka Ali G, Keith Lemon etc' .. I don't reckon she started as that but she has evolved and become a caricature of herself. NOBODY, would stick their hand up their mange and ask their assistant to sniff it (on the telly!) in real life.

Sam Smith is a bloke, I will always refer to him as a him - unless there becomes a pronoun that denotes egotistical twats

russetbella1000 · 07/05/2020 14:17

Oh oh did anyone catch ‘celebrity hairdresser to the stars’ Nicky Clarke on BBC breakfast last week, I think??? Yuk!!! The way he talked over his perfectly competent partner was awful.

I do think lockdown does reveal the very needy characters these celebs seem to have. Without gloss & PR they are just like the rest of us, only need more validation 🤪

Iamthewombat · 07/05/2020 14:42

Christine McGuinness is on the front of Woman’s Own telling us that lockdown saved her marriage (‘Christine and Paddy are stronger than ever!’).

Poor Paddy obviously can’t get to Spearmint Rhino during these troubled times.

Lorraine Kelly and the cast of Emmerdale must be furious. They normally get first dibs on the Woman’s Own cover.

Hello (I think?) also had a cover full of attention seekers, moodily photographed in black and white, exhorting us to join their campaign against domestic violence. Featured Shirley Ballas and somebody who might be...Christine McGuinness!

Iamthewombat · 07/05/2020 14:45

I forgot Laura Whitmore and her boring boyfriend. Constantly seeking attention but it’s all in remembrance for Caroline Flack you know!

God, are they still peddling that nonsense? It was obvious that when the Love Island job became vacant they were thinking “Hurrah! It’s an ill wind, eh? Yippee! Oh no, wait, Sadface. Must do sadface and post weepy messages on twitter for our dear dear friend”

Cloudmonkey · 07/05/2020 15:35

Another vote for jac jossa. So determined to be ‘just a regular mum’. I also watched her doing an instagram live makeup tutorial whilst her makeup artist gave her instructions on camera. Jossa constantly interrupted the makeup artist who was answering the questions popping up on her screen. So rude!

Mrsjayy · 07/05/2020 16:08

Jacqueline jossa was telling people to stay at home whilst playing with her kids in the garden put me right off her for some reason she looked insincere.

paintedsmile77 · 07/05/2020 16:20

I have no time for these plastic people and I really hope when this is all over the age of the talentless "celebrity" is over. I blame them for a lot of this obsession with fake lips, boobs , selfies etc and all this self obsession that people have.

sobersides · 07/05/2020 16:49

I've enjoyed Claire from Steps's Claireoke. She's seems quite unassuming then she opens her mouth to sing and just wow! What a voice!

Doingtheboxerbeat · 07/05/2020 16:55

@paintedsmile77, oh me too. Seeing the Lauren's, the Jesy's, the Amanda's and the Rita's pouting in the mirror with phone in hand or "showcasing" their bikinied bodies in the garden seems so shallow and insensitive and I can't believe they can't see this - how davastatingly inappropriate.
Unfortunately, they have nothing to sell, that I would ever want to buy so I can't even boycott them.

For all the pp who have no interest in celebs, their antics and endeavours, all I have to do is swipe right on my homepage of my phone and I get an array of articles from the Gardian to the Daily Star. I don't click on the dross usually but this is how I become aware of headlines. I only see SM from links from mainly here.

Dieu · 07/05/2020 18:09

I know it sounds daft, but I can't believe in this day and age we still have Christine McGuinesses or Lauren Goodgers. They set us back so much ... it's like something from the 70s. Women who are famous for nothing but their bodies make me truly despair.

Futurenostalgia · 07/05/2020 18:25

Yes I agree. Are they making money from their prancing about?

Mrsjayy · 07/05/2020 18:46

I love claire from steps I took dd to see STEPS their first reunion tour she is by far the best singer she loves a belt out!

Tappering · 07/05/2020 18:52

I love Claire from Steps. She's so bloody talented and seems lovely and normal as well. I remember watching a programme she did about her weight struggles and she was so relate-able in it.

Definitely another vote for Jack Munroe. I actually quite liked her Twitter advice to start with and thought that lockdown could prove a good opportunity for her. But her behaviour towards Jamie Oliver has been awful. Claiming that he's stolen a recipe and her opportunity and 'thing' and encouraging a pile-on from her followers, only to then backtrack after deleting tens of thousands of old tweets, claiming not to remember specifics when challenged by people.
